NEWSLETTER
I I / 2 01 4
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the second issue of the ADZ NAGANO Newsletter 2014. Thanks to the
positive economic situation, we succeeded in maintaining the strong growth in the
first half of the year also in the second.
We, therefore, would like to warmly thank all our customers, partners, suppliers and
other parties involved for their trustful cooperation. But our thanks also go out to our
staff and their outstanding commitment, and we jointly take pride in this success and
hope to continue to perform as excellently in the years to come.
In the following, we would like to present current ADZ developments and information.

New Sales Office Opened in the South of Germany
In order to yet further optimize our proximity to
customers, we opened our Sales Office in
Southern Germany on 1 September 2014.
Located directly between Heidelberg and
Stuttgart in Pfaffenhofen, Wuerttemberg,
there are three members of staff working in the
Sales and Service for our South-German
customers as well as for Switzerland and
Austria close-by. Apart from Mr and Ms
Reinhard, there is also Mr Schuhmacher
providing field service from there to the
German federal states of Bavaria and BadenWuerttemberg. Mr Schuhmacher, a statecertified engineering technician, has supported
our local customers there for one year already,
with a focus on our products, applications and
designs. Our South Team is looking forward to
successfully cooperating in the future.

SMO – Pressure-measuring Transducer for Applications in Mobile Hydraulics
The pressure transducer of the SMO series has been
developed especially for applications in mobile work
stations and utility vehicles. Regarding its electrical
properties as well as robustness, it represents our SML
series’ “big brother”.
In mobile hydraulics applications it is crucial to
implement other EMC properties. The transmitters of the
SMO series, for example, provide the possibility of a socalled “Load Dump” protective module meeting the
requirements of ISO 7637. Moreover, the pressure
transducers of the SMO series can be complemented by a
pressure-peak throttle for the purpose of reducing or
attenuating pressure peaks frequently occurring in
hydraulic systems. Such throttles are available with an
opening diameter of 0.6mm (standard) or 0.4mm. The
pressure connection and the stainless steel sensor
element are entirely vacuum-tight and joined
pressure-tight by a special electron-beam
welding procedure. So the sensors can ideally
be used in special applications in hydraulic
systems, such as mobile systems in
particular or brake systems, mobile pump
stations or generators. These widely
varied fields of applications unites the
claim for robustness and highest
reliability at the same time. The
pressure sensors can also be
purchased optionally in titanium design, which provides
enormous strength and facilitating pressure ranges of up
to 5,000 bar.
• Measuring ranges 0…4 bar to 0 … 5,000 bar
• -40 … 125°C Measuring medium
• 0.5 % Precision at ambient temperature
(1.5% Precision between -40° … 125°C)

SMD Differential Pressure Transducer – NEW
ADZ has extended its range of products with the newly
developed SMD series. The SMD is used in differential
pressure measuring of fuel and in other hydraulic systems,
in air filter systems with high excess pressure as well as in
the field of railway applications.
Its Flexible Features in an Overview:
• Adaption to every pressure range up to 2,000 bar as well
as adjustable differential pressure
• High-level medium compatibility by applying stainless
steel as the material in touch with the medium
• Adaptation of output signals and pressure connectors
• Higher pressure ranges on request
• Optionally, high and/or low side switches with default
switching points can be implemented.
Aviation – Pressure-measuring Transducers for Anti-icing Systems
In 2012, ADZ NAGANO GmbH signed an agreement with
the aircraft manufacturer EMBRAER S.A. from Brazil. This
agreement includes the development, qualification and
production of special pressure transmitters for the antiicing system of the cargo aircraft KC-390. The KC-390 is a
completely new development with which EMBRAER
intends to enter the market segment of medium-sized
cargo aircraft. First orders and options by several end users
have been placed already.
The schedule for the new development of this cargo carrier
is very tight and also a respective challenge for our
company. The first samples for operational tests in the
control system of the aircraft were rolled out to the
customer in spring 2013 already.
The roll-out of the first complete aircraft on 21 October
2014 marked another vital milestone in that project. This
now facilitates comprehensive testing on the ground and
in the air and the required permitting procedures can
commence.

The Dresden Striezel Market –
Europe‘s Second Best Christmas Market
There is hardly anywhere else that can
be imaged to be more beautiful than
Dresden to celebrate Christmas.
According to a survey performed by the
tourism organisation “European Best
Destinations”, Dresden, immediately
ranking after Straßburg, France, has the
most beautiful 2014 Christmas markets
in Europe. And it is not only the Striezel
Market that persuades visitors. The
particularly wide variety in the Saxon
stat capital was the reason for the jury
to award Dresden the second rank.
From the classical Striezel Market via
the enchanting charm of the Medieval
Market down to the Après Ski flair of
the cottage magic – Dresden has
exactly the right Christmas experience
to offer each of its visitors.

In our next issue, we will also report on:
• Pulse width modulation (PWM) and frequency output
• Low-pressure differential pressure transmitters
• High-temperature pressure sensors
