Corporate Social Responsibility Programs
T
he American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM)
honored its members’ best corporate social responsibility (CSR)
programs at a ceremony presided over by American charge
d’affaires Patrick Murphy. The eighth annual AMCHAM CSR
Excellence (ACE) Awards recognized 52 companies for their exemplary
CSR programs and their dedication to improving their communities.
To qualify for an ACE recognition, a company’s CSR program must
receive high marks in four categories: (1) Attention to business
objectives and societal needs; (2) Creation of long-term economic and

Developed a project called “Young Entrepreneurship Development Project”
to provide educational opportunities
and to build knowledge and skills in
business management for children.
In 2012, 1,328 volunteer man hours

Silver Award
‘AIA Sharing A Life’ is AIA Thailand’s
CSR Phenomenon, which involved the
bringing together of 30,000 volunteers
to participate in community service
activities in 21 locations nationwide. This
event marked another great milestone
for AIA in giving back to Thai society.
Amway
To continue paying back to Thai society,
social gains; (3) Communication and sharing of best practices;
(4) Program sustainability.
Special designations were given to firms that have received the ACE award for
five consecutive years (Gold Award), three consecutive years (Silver Award),
firms with excellence in creativity and innovation (Creative Partnerships), and
recognition for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

Amway for Thai Society Foundation (ATF)
celebrated the 10th anniversary of Amway One by One campaign for children
in 2013 by joining with the Border Patrol
Police Headquarters to launch ‘Amway
Rak Nong’ (Amway Loves Children)
program. Winter jackets were delivered
to 22,915 children in 177 Border Patrol
Police Schools in 39 provinces nationwide with 787 volunteers from Amway
Business Owners and staff.

to healthcare through awareness and

Bumrungrad Hospital
The Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation
began its collaboration with the Cardiac
Children Foundation of Thailand under
the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess
Galyani Vadhana, to help children suffering from critical congenital heart disease,
despite their families’ financial status,
and provide the treatment free of charge,
as part of its ‘Rak Jai Thai’ campaign.
We have now had more than 700 cases
receiving the surgeries.

Program Name: Cisco Networking
Academy
Networking academy delivers classroom
instructions, online teaching materials,
interactive tools and hands on learning
to students from every socioeconomic
background, so that they can develop
the knowledge and skills required to
succeed in a technology-driven market.
The partnership between Cisco and
Thailand has touched the lives of 36,105
students since inception. Currently there
are 47 Networking Academies operating
in Thailand and 91 Instructors who have
taught 7,540 students in the past 12
months.

Silver Award
‘Go Green & Reuse for Life’ promoted
usage of degradable plastic shopping
bags and encouraged using reusable
shopping bags by awarding customers
with 100 points (1 baht) when shopping
with reusable bags. Currently working with 49 communities and more
than 497 products, we contributed
positively to the community and
differentiate our brand image through
the ‘Community Product.’ We aim to
work with more communities across
several product categories to conserve unique local wisdom, nurture
local talents and strengthen local
community in terms of economic,
social and environment towards selfsustainability.

In 2014, Citi Thailand main focus

Recycle 360° is an integrated
solid waste and recyclable materials
management program launched in
Chatuchak sub-district. The program is
part of Coca-Cola’s sustainable packaging recovery effort which aims to
develop and introduce environmentally
friendly products, improve packaging
material efficiency per liter of product
sold, as well as recover used product
by recycling.

Giving the world reasons to smile
through our oral health program ‘Bright
Smiles, Bright Futures,’ Thai children
receive oral health education to help
build healthy habits and self-esteem. Our
partnership with Operation Smile extends
our efforts to bring back the smiles to
Thai children suffering from cleft lip and
palate. To sustain and enhance good
health and hygiene, Protex Hand Wash
Month educational program reinforces
the importance of hand-washing in

8,000 licensed drivers have participated

transportation pipeline from a raw water
source by connecting 2 km pipeline to

4. Global Project: Santa Fe has donated
over U.S. $1.5 million to date to
the John Hopkins Breast Cancer
Research Foundation. For every relocation performed U.S. $5 is donated
to the Foundation along with all
proceeds collected during Santa Fe’s
Annual Charity Runs held at every
International Conference Worldwide.
SAS Software
Silver Award
Since 1976, the SAS is committed to
‘The Power to Know’ concept for customers worldwide. In Thailand, SAS Software (Thailand) has supported students’
education by SAS Curriculum Pathways,
which is the interactive online lesson under the patronage of HRH Princess Maha
Chakri Sirindhorn. This project aims to
allow teachers and students to gain more
lessons and enhance their academic
skills and creative thinking. Currently,
over 200 schools across Thailand have
already adopted this solution.
