Superior St., 2nd Floor Toledo, OH 43604 TOGETHER FOR A BETTER US. ™ Donor Newsletter YMCA OF GREATER TOLEDO >>> COMMUNICATING OUR IMPACT DONORS MAKE IT POSSIBLE Communicating our impact is key to the success of the YMCA. We understand a single piece cannot effectively capture all that we do to enrich our community; however, we do want to regularly recognize and share our achievements. We needed a forum to communicate with you the impact of your commitment and support. With that in mind, this is the inaugural edition of our donor newsletter. Our goal is to highlight initiatives and programs that are possible due to your generous support. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated donors that invest in our work and have confidence in the Y and its mission. In this first edition, we will take a look at how revising our membership structure opened our doors even wider to our community. Last year, we launched a new membership model called Y For All. Our goal was to make the Y’s membership more accessible YMCA OF GREATER TOLEDO 1500 N. With the introduction of the Y For All income based plan, Justin said, “The new model allows my entire family to take part in the Y at an affordable price.” Justin and Rebecca take several fitness classes, enjoying all the benefits of their membership. “Having the fitness classes at no additional cost allows my wife and I to participate three or four times a week,” said Justin. family night. They join other Y families for swim, fun and community. Y For All is making a positive impact in the lives of the Amburgeys, allowing for a place to grow, connect with others and be a part of something special. Since joining the Y, the Amburgey family dedicates every Friday to My beloved wife often said, “Children just need a chance in the world; a chance to find what they can really achieve in this world.” The Y is giving children the opportunities and environment they need to thrive and be successful. Most importantly, the organization helps them find their place in the world. That is why I choose to support them. I was first introduced to the YMCA in the early 1960s. I supported Y’s in Indiana and in West Virginia, and continued my backing at my local Y branch when I relocated to Toledo. I am proud to give to the Y and will continue to do so for many years to come. I know they are good stewards of their funds, and I have seen firsthand the great work they In addition, I have been impressed with the programs, staff and the overall dedication of everyone involved with the Y. I have faith that they are making the right decisions to keep the organization moving upward, all the while continuing to keep children as one of their top priorities. We can all do a little more to help give children in need a chance at a meaningful tomorrow. My wife also used to say, “We have had a great life, so it’s our duty to give back to others.” She inspired me to live by these words and I hope you will, too. The purpose of this club is to encourage thoughtful gifts as a primary means of building a strong endowment capable of providing lasting support for the Y’s mission. It also recognizes the club members whose leadership, service and devotion is critical to the Y. Beginning this year, Heritage Club members meet annually to enjoy fellowship, find inspiration in the Y’s work and learn how their contribution is making their community a better place to live, work and play. Membership in the Heritage Club requires a minimum commitment which now, or in the future, will contribute to the YMCA’s Endowment Fund.
