The Video List
Thank you for becoming of member of the Rare
Video TV community. I am Anthony Clarke. In the
1990s I videoed hundreds of hours of Melbourne’s
local bands and musicians, and I am continuing to
take new videos even now. I also have hundreds of
hours of train tour videos in Australia, New
Zealand, USA, UK, Europe and India. I am now
converting these to internet videos. This is the list
as of November 2013 of all the music videos that I
am seeking to upload.
More Every Week Being Uploaded
It takes about four hours to convert a 45 min
tape video to be ready for upload to the
internet. Then it takes about 7 hours for it to
successfully upload to YouTube into a private
members area. Once it is on-site it is then
very easy for you to download as a streaming
video. I believe this is the best way for you to
see the films. There is no point in me trying to sell copies of the videos.
It is much better for everyone interested to watch the clips through
Rare Video TV. For a small monthly fee, you can see hundreds of hours
of film, and see films you would never have thought to buy, if I was
trying to sell them. Because it is such a big job to get each film uploaded,
I will be uploading 5 to 10 new films each week for the next three or four
years! This means you need to check back regularly to see which films
are new. It also means that I want you to go through this guide and see
which films you want to be uploaded early. Your requests will be given
priority in the films I select to work on each week.

Become an Affiliate to help promote this site
Affiliate marketing is very big on the internet.
With Rare Video TV, I am offering two levels of
affiliate membership. The first is for the bands
listed here, where I will pay $1 of the $8 monthly
fee to the band for getting its fans and others to
become Rare-Video TV members. This $1 will
continue to be paid to the bands for as long as their
recommended customer remains a paid up
member. In view of way this site is set up it is really impossible to give
any official royalties to the bands and musicians as they would be
impossible to calculate as members watch many videos. Giving $1 a
month for members who come through the affiliation will encourage the
bands to get their supporters enrolled and probably produce a return
for them that is far greater than any official royalty would be. In order
to qualify for this money at least one member of the band (or former
band) must be a paid up member, so there is a person who is receiving
the commissions. If his/her membership lapses, then the commissions
may also lapse, unless there is another band person to whom the
commissions can be transferred who is a paid member.
The second level of affiliate marketing is to Members. This is a payment
of 60c per month of the $8 membership fee to members who get their
friends and others to join. This money will continue to be paid as long as
the affiliate member is still paying his/her monthly membership fee and
of course, for as long as their enrolled members continue paying their
fees.
New films are also being made.
I am still asked to film bands and musicians. This means current music
is also being uploaded to the site. Usually the new films are uploaded
within a week of them being taken. This makes the site current with
both old and new constantly being uploaded.

The Warner Brothers
Dan Warner out front of the Warner Brothers It was for this band that
I first bought my video camera. I had been to many of their concerts and
loved their gutsy rock n’roll interlaced with beautiful powerful ballads.
It was from here that I started videoing all their friends’ bands and
started to build the collection.
This photo is taken from a gig at the Great Britain Hotel.

Help Me to Provide the
music you love quickly
My music is now available for you
Thank you for purchasing the Video List of my 400 hours of mainly Melbourne
music.
A great band is one of the best things to bring you joy. You enjoy going out to
see live music because it gives you a connection that is not just available on
CDs. My music is all about bringing back the good times you enjoyed or
wished you had been able to attend. With over 400 hours of live music taken
at pubs and clubs mainly in Melbourne, which is one of the top cities on the
globe for live music, I have one of the largest private music video collections
in the world. You will soon be able to download it and keep the good times in
your own computer. Eventually it may even be streamed for live viewing.
Still in Progress
This is an internet site that is still in progress. Yes there are videos listed here
that you can buy. What I want you to see and feel and imagine is all the music
that is still to come. This includes music by the over 140 different bands and
artists.
There are photos of many of the band members. The photos have been taken
as stills off the videos mentioned. This means they are not all that clear. The
quality on the actual videos is much better - just like watching TV!
Tell Me Which Bands You Want Available
Remember to tell me which bands and videos you want to appear on my site
and I will get them up as soon as possible. After all, you purchased the list
because you have an interest in my music. So I want to help you see your
favourites as soon as possible!
If you want to write to the bands you can use the email links for them which I
will be providing on the site. Naturally I do not have all the emails, even
though I am collecting them. I would like to hear from the band members.
Even though I am told I own the video copyrights as every video was taken
with permission, I want to be able to give the bands a 20% commission on any
of their videos that are sold either through hard copies or by internet
downloaded copies.
Enjoy discovering the music available. Castles are where there are no photos
available. These seem to be mainly bands I videoed after March 1996, as I am
still progressively going through the original tapes. There are some later band
pictures for bands I was able to process soon after their gigs!

There are several videos of the Textile and Composite
Industries Pty Ltd industrial hemp decorticator. It separates the hemp into the
woody hurd and fibre in half a second from a green standing crop. It replaces
the European systems of lying the hemp in a field for up to 14 weeks for what
they call field retting. The TCI system was developed by my brother Adrian.
He also spoke at the European Industrial Hemp Conference in 2013 and that
video will also go up on Rare-TV.

The Lucksmiths
The Lucksmiths
This was one of iconic little bands that had a large
following in Melbourne. They originally came from
Ballarat (as did their friends in The Mavis’) and
were a favourite wherever they played. Tali White
was a great singer on his snare drum and her
mother gave singing lessons in country Victoria.
They had four CDs in the 1990s.
The Videos
I videoed the Lucksmiths four times. The first was at
the Kirsty Stegwazi tape launch where the support
acts were the Lucksmiths, Jay McCraken and the
Mavis, with also an appearance by Wally Gunn, all of
whom are on separate videos. This is The

Simon Moore
Simon migrated from England many years ago. He
is the founder of the Melbourne Songwriters Club.
It seemed to evolve from my cousin Michael
Greenwood’s bands and his inviting of various
bands to play at the Corner in his gigs with the
Rock Rats. Simon appeared on the scene and set
up the songwriters club at Seazars Bar at the
Palace in St Kilda, to which I was invited to video
whenever I wanted to. I was of course making
videos well before this and continued at other venues as well. At the
Club there were so many bands I would never have seen, and I thank
Simon for the opportunity of collecting many videos at the club.

The Videos
I have two main videos for the Rock Rats:
Rock Rats At The Wayside 18 July 1991.
This was over 2 sets and ran for 120 m
featuring lots of original songs.
Rock rats at the Corner Hotel 8th September
1991. This ran for 172 m and covered three sets really on a Sunday
afternoon. These gigs allowed for other artists to join and play. They
were the basis from which the Melbourne Songwriters Club would later
develop. In this gig the Rock Rats had Angie on vocals sand Wayne (the
owner of the hotel at the time) playing as well. Then later the members
of Voodoo Child (Jason Richardson, John and James) also played
several tracks.
Other bands
The members of the Rock Rats have been involved
in many other bands which I have videoed. These
include Mid-Life Crisis; Kingpin; The Blowflies,

The Warner Brothers
The Warner Brothers
We started this book with them as the inspiration
for me buying my first camera and starting
filming. It turned out to be 400 hours of films of all
sorts of bands and musicians. Naturally my
greatest collection is of Dan Warner and the boys
in their various line ups. They play originals and
great covers, and were forced to change their name
by a big company of similar name. They became
Overnight Jones.
