Mires Beck Nursery
Our new catalogue for 2015
We have pleasure in presenting our wholesale catalogue for 2015. At Mires Beck we
continually assess which plants are performing well and watch the market place carefully to
see which plants are in vogue, particularly at the great flower shows held across the country.
Some of the new plants this year are pictorially detailed at the front and all of the new plants
are in green throughout the catalogue. The catalogue is compiled alphabetically and details
pot size, flower colour, height and whether the plant has been awarded the RHS Award of
Garden Merit
Our herbaceous perennials are grown in peat reduced compost with a slow release feed. We
also use Exemptor for the control of vine weevil and whitefly. When trials prove successful
we hope to move all plant production to peat free compost.
We grow a wide variety of herbs which are grown in 9cm pots and in peat free compost with
added perlite. Our herbs are supplied in trays of 18 and can be a mixture of varieties or full
tray of a single variety.
In addition to our herbaceous perennials we continue to grow a small range of shrubs, it is
planned to increase the varieties we grow later in the year.
With the current interest in providing nectar rich habitats for bees and butterflies we also
grow and supply a comprehensive collection of native Wildflowers, all sourced from Yorkshire
and grown here at the nursery. If you are interested please contact us for a wildflower
catalogue and price list.
As part of our service to garden centres we offer pre-priced and bar-coded labels. Our labels
have full colour pictures, plant descriptions and planting information. Throughout the
summer we offer free delivery on our regular delivery days with no minimum order
requirement. A weekly availability list is available if required and our sale or exchange policy
remains the same.
