Sampling technique – a home made electroshocker! Sampling sites along the hill stream and small ponds Sampling sites along the hill stream and small ponds Sampling sites along the hill stream and small ponds Results http://ffish.asia/?p=none&o=ss&id=100 Results http://d.hatena.ne.jp/OIKAWAMARU/20090812/1250067099 Results Discussion • Only two species of fish, C. gachua and M. albus - due to high altitude level and low water level during sampling time. • High abundance of Channa gachua and Macrobrachium sp. along the hill stream – suitable habitats. • Palaemonid prawn (Macobrachium sp.) and and parathelphusid crab (Irmengardia johnsoni) are the common foods for C. gachua (Ng and Kelvin, 1989). Discussion • The existence of the dwarf snakehead indicates a good water quality of the hill streams. THANK YOU
