As President of the NCMA, I am truly honored to hold this very important position. We have a tremendous amount of work to do in the near future with the rulings on the application and also how we proceed with all the illegal movers in our state. They have just about become an epidemic. But rest assured, as your board, we will do our very best to protect your interests and those of the NCMA. As we approach this wonderful holiday season, I want to wish each and everyone the very best. As we usher in a new year, I wish each one a very busy and prosperous 2008. Working together, we can make things happen in 2008. The Start-Up Mover is available for $200 and the Limited Member is available for $225. For more information about these membership opportunities with AMSA, contact Pat Jennings at [email protected]. AMSA has relinquished its software copyrights to Tariff 400-N and 600 and their plans to sell licenses. If you have interstate authority in your name, you will need to publish your own tariff by January 1, 2008. Publishing a tariff does not require you to file the tariff with any government agency, it means that you have a copy of your tariff available. You will still need to comply with all the FMCSA regulations concerning moving. You can publish your tariff yourself and choose a publishing partner that fits your individual needs. For more information about tariff publishing resources, visit www.promover.org. The AMSA Annual Education Conference & Expo will be held April 1-5, 2008 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, FL. The event is being held in conjunction with the GSA Household Goods and Freight Forum. Over 20 educations sessions will be available. The trade show is now an expo, with access to more than 125 business partners, all showcasing their products and services. Early bird registration is available until February 15. For more information and a registration forms, go to www.promover.org. AMSA announces the following staff additions: Paul C. Oakley has been named Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and Sabrina Waiss has been named Director of Federation Relations and the Director of the Moving and storage Institute.
