The first Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event took place in September 2014 and it received a rapturous
welcome from visitors, collectors and partners. It was also given the Automobile Event of the Year Prize at the
International Historic Motoring Awards in Great Britain sponsored by the EFG private bank and the magazine,
Octane. And few weeks ago, the event also received the patronage of the French Ministry of Culture and
Communication
The second Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event will be held on Sunday 6th September 2015. It will follow
in the footsteps of the first one continuing the theme of the Concours d’Elegance Automobile with a wide-ranging
selection of the ‘Art de Vivre à la Française’ – Beaux Arts de la table, Art de Vivre, Fashion, Jewellery - in partnership
with prestigious brands and fashion houses. Thus, all the ingredients are on hand to create a unique rendezvous in an
exceptional setting only a stone’s throw away from the French capital. Guests will be able to make the most of the
quintessence of art and elegance thanks to the richness of the Chantilly domain and its princely city that provide more
than just a simple backdrop to the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event.

SUNDAY, 6TH SEPTEMBER: DAY OF THE CONCOURS
Sunday is the pinnacle of the event. In 2014, almost ten thousand people went through the gates of the
château; they were carried away by the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille world and attended the
three concours held that day.
THE ‘‘CONCOURS D’ETAT’’
The most beautiful cars in the world
The Concours d’Etat is called The Most Beautiful Cars in the World to pay homage to historic cars
whose owners take great care of them over the years to ensure they remain in their best possible state
of preservation to perpetuate the saga of the motor car.
The vehicles are presented in ten different classes, whose themes are renewed every year to showcase a
new selection of cars that are rarely seen in public. They are then subjected to the eagle eyes of the
members of a jury which elects a class winner. The full jury then convenes to elect from among the
class winners the car that will receive the Best of Show award.
In 2014, the Best of Show went to a Delahaye 135M Cabriolet designed by Figoni and Falaschi in 1937
owned by the American collector Peter Mullin.
In 2015, the themes of the 15 categories have been completely renewed to provide a new spectacle with
cars rarely seen on display. A wide-ranging period of motor car history will be covered. The great
names in the history of motor racing will be in pride of place with the categories Racing Bugattis,
Formula One 1966-1972 and Grand Touring Cars from the city to the track. Categories for less
sporting but original cars will include The Famous Ladies’ Cars, The Iconoclastic Interiors, The
European Chassis with American Engine and The Aga Khan Family's Cars.

FAMOUS LADIES’ CARS
Brigitte Bardot, Ursula Andress, Raquel Welch and Madonna are all international stars who, during
their lives, had a very personal if not passionate relationship with the motor car, in particular those
that they chose for their personal transport.
For the second Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille on 6th September 2015 Peter Auto and his
team have assembled a unique selection of cars that belonged to famous women in the chateau’s
domain. This new class, among the fifteen in the Concours d’Etat (see link to the site), will be one of
the highlights of the event. They will be on display on the lawns of Le Nôtre, and their extraordinary
history intimately linked to the life of their famous owners will satisfy the curiosity of motor car lovers
and the fans of the stars.
The oldest in the class, the 1927 Bugatti
Type 35B, is a real racing car that took part
in numerous grand prix in its era driven con
brio by its owner, Hellé Nice, a famous
cabaret dancer who was crazy about racing.
She was an icon for the women pioneers
who took on the men in what was an
extremely dangerous sport at the time.
In 1939, music hall singer, Lucienne Dhotel, whose stage name was La Môme Moineau, became
the richest woman in the world prior to WWII by marrying Felix Benitez Rexach, a South
American businessman. She ordered this Delahaye 135 MS with bodywork by Figoni. It also
figured in the shooting of the film Le Château de Verre with Michèle Morgan in 1950.
This 1954 Ferrari 250 Europe GT of the post-war
period, which had coachwork specially made by
Viginale for Princess Lilian de Rethy, King
Leopold III of Belgium’s wife, is another unique
car.
The “King” Elvis Presley gave this more modern
1958 BMW 507 to Ursula Andress after the
filming of the musical comedy Fun in Acapulco in
1963 in which they played the main roles.

“I hope it’ll be the most admired car in the Concours,
as I loved it very much,” said Brigitte Bardot
when she heard that her 1962 Rolls-Royce
Silver Cloud Convertible II was entered for
the Chantilly Arts & Elégance.
Autre actrice inoubliable, Raquel Welch prit un
tel plaisir à conduire cette Ferrari 275 GTS de
1965 durant le tournage de ‘‘Fathom’’ (1967) que
le directeur du film Leslie H. Martinson lui en fit
cadeau. L’actrice en fut propriétaire pendant de
nombreuses années…
Bringing the curtain down on the Famous
Women’s cars is the 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280
SE given to Madonna in 1986 by her husband
at the time, the actor/director Sean Penn. The
pop icon appeared at the wheel of her
cabriolet in the clip of her song Deeper and
Deeper.
These seven cars of the stars will be on stage on Sunday 6th September in the Château de Chantilly
surrounded by around another hundred exceptional vehicles which, in their own field, have marked
the history of the automobile, as well as the concept cars taking part in the Concours d’Elegance.

THE ‘‘CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE’’
Manufacturers & Fashion Houses
Created in France during the 20’s, a glorious era for coachbuilders, the Concours d’Elegance was the
event at which they showed their latest marvels enhanced by beautiful, elegant women wearing the
latest creations from the fashion houses.
One of the first aims of the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event was to revive this golden
era. Manufacturers and fashion houses immediately threw their support behind the project and the
result exceeded all expectations. Ten fashion houses partnered seven manufacturers and three Italian
coachbuilders. The result was ten concept cars - two were given their world premier and one its
European preview - a month before the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Last year, an Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by the Touring and Paco Rabane tandem won the prize.
Given the success of the first event, other manufacturers and fashion houses will participate this year.
THE ‘‘GRAND PRIX DES CLUBS MOYNAT’’
An elegant picnic
The car clubs, which are the ambassadors of the heritage of the automobile, are distinguished guests at
the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event, as is also the case at the other Peter Auto meetings.
These carefully-selected famous clubs are assembled by make and nationality in the grounds of the
château. The clubs themselves then carry out a meticulous selection process when it comes to choosing
the cars to create a refined environment and the picnic that decide the awarding of the “Grand Prix des
Clubs Moynat” prize.
Picnics in white, relaxed picnics on the grass or elegant picnics on beautifully dressed tables were all to
be seen at the first Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event during which five hundred cars from
35 clubs, assembled according to manufacturers’ nationality, played along to try and clinch the Grand
Prix des Clubs. The 2014 winner was the Delahaye Club. The French make, also awarded the Best of
Show, had a field day in 2014! Who will be the 2015 winner?
AN ECLECTIC JURY
The prize awarded for each concours is the result of the votes of renowned specialists of a make or an
era, of great names in the world of the motor car as well as personalities in other fields. The eclecticism
of the jury through its cultures and its origins ensures its quality. The Chantilly Arts & Elegance
Richard Mille event brings together an international jury representing different spheres.
AN INTERACTIVE CONCOURS
Spectators also have a role to play because they are called on to vote for the Concours d'Elegance. The
most beautiful hat will be awarded a prize – ‘Elégance oblige!’

CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE:
SEVEN CONCEPT CARS IN COMPETITION
Seven concept cars penned by major manufacturers and designers will parade at the Concours
d’Elegance.
Created in France during the 20s, the Concours d’Elegance was the event at which coachbuilders
showed their latest marvels enhanced by beautiful, elegant women wearing the latest creations from the
fashion houses. One of the main aims of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille was to revive this
golden era. In 2014 the jury awarded the prize to the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by Touring – Paco
Rabanne partnership. This year seven manufacturers are in competition.
The Alpine Celebration celebrating the 60th anniversary of the make will
revive the timeless style of the famous Berlinetta: low silhouette, plunging
bonnet with raised lines, sculpted flanks and characteristic rear window. Its
design with its sensual curves evokes the pleasures of driving à la française.
Partnered with the Chapal house.
The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R is the heir to the 3.0 CSL – an icon of the
1970s. Its livery evokes the colours of the German make’s racing cars and it
pays homage to the CLS initials (Coupe Sportif Leichtbau, light sports coupe)
with abundant use of the carbon and aluminium. Partnered with the BMW
driver’s suit.
The All-new Ford GT has ultra-sporting lines and advanced aerodynamics. It
innovates with a carbon chassis, a twin turbo engine delivering around 600 bhp
(the most powerful ever built by the Detroit Company), as well as an active
wing, which deploys according to the driver’s needs. Partnered with the fashion
house Haider Ackermann.
The DS Numéro 9 concept announces the styling cues of forthcoming models.
The combination of the genes of a coupe with those of a shooting break gives
it sleek elegant lines and a new identify for the front grille designed for Fullhybrid plug-in technology. Partnered with the fashion house Eymeric
François.
As its name indicates the McLaren 570S coupe has 570 bhp on tap – the S
shows that it belongs to the new sports range. Its carbon fibre chassis, which
combines rigidity and lightness, is powered by a 3.8-litre V8. The first buyers
will receive their cars at the end of the year. Partnered with Balmain.
With the Mercedes-Benz Class S Coupe concept, the German manufacturer
offers a concrete glimpse of its new generation of models. Its alluring, stylised
shape is the perfect incarnation incarnates the design philosophy of simple
sensuality. This 4-seater car redefines the idea of modern luxury motoring.
Partnered with Hugo Boss.
Designed by Norihiko Harada from Japan the Mostro Zagato powered by
Maserati is a modern evocation of the Maserati 450S built in 1957 on the
request of English driver, Stirling Moss, for that year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.
While only one race car was constructed, five of the 2015 interpretation of the
Maserati will be made. Partnered with the fashion house Costume National.

CELEBRATING THE FRENCH "ART DE VIVRE"
Right from the outset the organisers of the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event were determined
to make it stand out from other concours. The event is devoted to the motor car and also aimed at those for
whom it is not necessarily a passion. Celebrating the French “Art de Vivre” for the whole family on a
Sunday in the countryside is the perfect demonstration of this. The varied range of recreational activities to
entertain everyone, in addition to the incredibly rare and ephemeral car display divided into three concours,
was certainly one of the keys to the success of the first Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille event.
CHANTILLY ARTS & ELEGANCE RICHARD MILLE
The arts rendezvous!
After the art of the motor car, the Chantilly Château the leading private museum in France, presents
the Fine Arts.
The Château houses some of the most important historic paintings after those in the Louvre. The
Chantilly collections include 550 works of art: three chef d’oeuvres by Raphael as well as paintings by
Botticelli, Clouet, Delacroix, Fouquet, Poussin, Watteau, etc. The Cabinet des Livres also houses one of
the most exceptional collections of precious manuscripts in the world: 13 000 works including 1500
manuscripts and 500 incunabula (free access during the event).
The visitors at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance can also see the exhibition “The century of François 1st”
in the Jeu de Paume, which will begin the same day: it is a celebration of the accession to the throne of
François 1st and of the victory at the Battle of Marignan.
The culinary arts
Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille is also staging an exhibition devoted to the culinary arts.
Gastronomy, Oenology & Champagne
The French culinary arts, which are part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, will be
highlighted by great chefs with a mouth-watering programme:
 Demonstrations: How to make the ‘Crème Chantilly’ – central esplanade
 Gastronomy will hold centre stage during the event thanks to a partnership with Relais & Châteaux
and the collaboration of the great Michelin star chefs
 Champagne bars
 Gastronomic food trucks
Floral Arts
Demonstrations of Floral Art courses – how to make a table center-piece, a bouquet for the public, etc.

ENTERTAINMENT AND SIDE-SHOWS
The world of horses
Peter Auto is delighted to announce the presence for the second year running of the famous French
equestrian stuntman and trainer, Mario Luraschi. The Chantilly domain is a fantastic playground for
horse riding fans. Mario Luraschi and his team will put on an exceptional show for the public in the
central ‘Miroir’ between the château and the lawns designed by Le Nôtre. Everything is in place to give
the spectators a horse show that will as spectacular as it is amazing. It will take place before the
Concours d’Etat and its parade of the most beautiful cars in the world. The mystery surrounding the
theme of this spectacle has not been divulged and will remain a secret until the day of the event!
Carriages will provide another link to the equestrian world. A large number will be on hand to take
people for a ride in the park after they have visited the stalls of the artisans and appreciated their
ancestral know-how. Added to this is an exhibition of different types of carriages organised by the
Fédération Française d’Attelage. For youngsters there will be a demonstration/first experience of the
art of Polo with the Chantilly Polo Club as well as pony rides and carriages.
The Horse Museum in the ‘Grandes Ecuries’ of the Chantilly domain will be open to the public on
Sunday 6th September for all entry ticket holders. On show in the museum are more than two hundred
objects telling the story of the importance of the role played by the horse since the dawn of humanity.
Water games
The pools and the Grand Canal in the domain are an ideal playground for trips on an old steam boat, a
rowing regatta or just simply playing with radio-controlled boats. Added to this are Optimist regattas
around the château and VIP first trips in historic boats.
Music
No festive celebration would be complete without musicians. This will again be the case in the second
Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille with groups of itinerant musicians in the domain to round off
the atmosphere of this elegant Sunday in the countryside.
Elegance present
The models dressed by the Haute Couture houses are the stars of the Concours d’Elegance parade in
the same way as the concept cars from car manufacturers and designers, but they won’t be the only
ones to catch the spectators’ eye. Many beautiful ladies will come to the château dressed in all their
finery. They can participate in Hat, Scarf and Esthetic (makeup, hair dressing) workshops.
And the crowd can also enjoy a takeoff in a balloon, some forty old games using wooden figures/toys
on the Le Nôtre lawns plus circus entertainment. Novelty in 2015, the “Artists Gallery, Champagne
Bar” will gather a dozen of painters, sculptors, photographers and designers and will offer a
Champagne Bar with a terrace ideally located at the foot of the Concours d’Etat.

5TH SEPTEMBER, SPECIAL COLLECTORS SATURDAY
While the concours opens its doors to the public on Sunday 6th September those taking part are invited the
previous day (Saturday 5th September) to the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille Tour for a rally to
explore the nearby forests. For ladies who do not wish to be a part of it, they can enjoy an Elegance Day in
Paris with an exclusive visit to venues usually closed to the general public. The day ends with the official
Opening Dinner in the château’s Grandes Ecuries.
CHANTILLY ARTS & ELEGANCE RICHARD MILLE TOUR
Discover a beautiful region
While the cars entered for the concours are among the most beautiful and rarest in the world, it should
be remembered that their primary function is that of a means of locomotion. For many of the
owners/collectors the passion and the sheer pleasure of driving will be part of their programme. The
rally will be a bucolic interlude punctuated by a gastronomic lunch at the Polo Club de Chantilly and an
exhibition game proposed by Richard Mille with the Argentine polo star Pablo McDonough. Handicap
10, what is best in the world, he is mainly the No. 3 of the legendary team La Dolfina with whom he
won the Argentine Open three times after having won it twice with Ellerstina.
ELEGANCE DAY IN PARIS
French cultural secrets
Paris, the city of light and capital of fashion, is a treasure hiding the mysteries of French savoir-faire, as
well as some exclusive venues like the Moynat House (luxury trunks, ladies’ handbags… since 1849)
and La Fondation Louis Vuitton…
THE BONHAMS AUCTION
An exceptional sale
The collectors gathering for the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille concours is undoubtedly a
first class audience for an auction. Therefore, famous British auctioneers Bonhams, founded in 1793,
will perform an exceptional auction on the occasion of the second edition during this concours
orchestrated as an "Elegant Sunday in the countryside".
An exceptional auction deserves an exceptional location. A marquee will be set in the courtyard of the
prestigious Chantilly Estate's Great Stables. 27 cars, all of them handpicked, will be on sale
(http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23127/).
Saturday 5 September 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
The viewing will be open from Friday 4 September at 10:00 am
THE OFFICIAL DINNER
A foretaste of what is to come!
An extraordinary venue for an extraordinary dinner. The ‘Grandes Ecuries’ provide the setting for the official
Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille Opening Dinner, and will be the theatre of a classical music concert.

DRESS CODE
STYLE EXPECTED, PLEASURE GUARANTEED
The spectators should come correctly dressed; as a tribute to all the actors, who often come from afar to put on this ephemeral
show. They greatly appreciate welcoming visitors who have gone to the same trouble as them. There are many ways of being
«chic», as skillfully illustrated by Alain Bouldouyre.

PARTNERS
RICHARD MILLE
From the very inception of the brand, Richard Mille endeavored to
apply the techniques and materials found in the most innovative
sectors such as in the domains of F1 racing car development and
the aerospace industry to watchmaking, with the goal of creating an
extreme timepiece, without compromise, without gimmicks.Today,
the collection’s more than sixty models point resolutely towards the
future, while holding stead fast to the time-honored traditions of
fine watchmaking. Like that landmark watch, the RM 001, Richard
Mille’s success is founded upon three crucial elements: the best in
technical innovation, the best of artistry and architecture, the best of
the heritage and culture of fine watchmaking with hand finishing. A
watch designed by Richard Mille is marked by the absence of the
superfluous. Just as we find in the high speed racing cars of today,
function dictates form and there is no use and no room for an
approach driven solely by aesthetics. For Richard Mille, every screw,
every pinion, lever and spring must fulfill its mission, meeting the
highest standards of security and precision, exactly like a racing car;
this notion is manifested not only visually but also throughout every
design choice and every phase of the watch’s production.
