Donnelly Family Update
Page 1
Dear Family / Friends / Support Team,
Another school year has closed. The girls (all 3) had a tremendous
year full of wonderful grades, sports, friends, ministry, etc. Everyone is looking forward to a little rest, family time, and their respective summer reading lists! As I write, we are packing for our summer pilgrimage to New England to see family and supporters.
So much is going on with the ministry that I simply have not had
the time to get a letter out to anyone. But….
It’s critical that you know what your money and prayers have accomplished so far this year, what some of our current needs are,
and what’s coming up that needs additional prayer and funding.
As a synopsis, I can say that our ministry continues to grow by
leaps and bounds, God continues to be glorified through it, and
PEOPLE continue to be helped, healed, and saved, through our
efforts. Thanks for being part of it!

partnership between
MAG and MMS.
After raising his financial support, Jason
will spend five years
with MMS and MAG
being prepared for
field service as a missionary aviator.

(Left) Back in February, we discovered that the dishwasher had been
leaking under the kitchen floor and
cabinets—maybe for years. As a
result, the entire kitchen—floor,
walls, and all—had to be replaced
due to water damage. Insurance
covered MOST of it. This was at the
same time my truck decided to die.
Little did we know that Deb’s van
wasn’t far behind. This is what puts
the “faith” in “faith support”!

Critical MINISTRY Prayer and Funding Needs
(See the 2013 Mid-Year Ministry Report—Enclosed)
 Needed funding for Guatemala Aircraft $95K
 Needed funding for Honduras Truck $15K
 Staff Relocations to Burlington (Dodsons and Grotes)
 Tremendous spiritual warfare in La Mosquitia requires supernatural courage and strength for these dear people to stand against
the threats of the drug cartels, now invading our area.
Critical PERSONAL Prayer and Funding Needs
 Our Financial Support Level is stuck at about 80% leaving us
short of our support goal by about $1,000/month.
This monthly shortfall has precipitated situations like...
 February “truck repair” created $4,500. in credit card debt
 March “kitchen repair” created $1,500. in credit card debt
If there’s anything you or your church could do to help with this
immediate need, it would really be a blessing!
Also...
 Very badly need to replace my 5 year old laptop $800.
 Need an iPad for flying as well as presenting the ministry $600
 Please pray for Meghan as her ankle problem has returned and
we are now seeking an orthopedic surgeon / ankle specialist.
Besides the financial part, this is really hurting her a lot.
Thanks for praying and helping as you can!

Mid-Year Ministry Update

Karen Dodson and Carlos Paz
Bring New Dimensions
to 2013’s IHS Medical Brigade
Medical Services Coordinator
Karen Dodson, R.N., joined MAG in November and traveled
to our base Honduras in February with International Health
Service’s (IHS) team of medical professionals. As Medical
Services Coordinator, Karen acts as the liaison between our field
programs and the Stateside medical community. This was the first
year a member of our US-based staff participated directly with the IHS
annual medical brigade in Rus Rus. Over 1,400 patients were treated
during the course of the clinic! For more details, please visit our website!
Evening Evangelical Services
Westley prepares to transport a patient to Puerta
Limpera as part of this year’s IHS medical brigade.
Inset: Karen and Geraldina, our Rus Rus Head Nurse.
Last year, Carlos Paz, MAG’s Director of Pastoral Ministries, served the
IHS medical brigade as a medical translator helping villagers communicate
with medical personnel. In that role Carlos became acquainted with Eduardo,
who was carried into the clinic suffering from a life threatening gunshot
wound. Carlos prayed with Eduardo through the night and into the new day
until Westley could fly Eduardo to the city and more comprehensive medical
facilities.
This year Carlos initiated evening evangelical services in conjunction with the
daytime medical clinic. Many patients walk for days to receive medical care at
the clinic and camp and cook on the hospital compound for several nights.
Over the course of the clinic, Carlos held three services by flashlight blending
preaching with the singing of hymns and testimonies by local believers. Many
people came to Christ during the evening services including, Eduardo. Last
Carlos and Eduardo.
year he had his physical life restored through medical care. This year, Eduardo
received eternal life through the demonstration and witness of Christ’s love and compassion!
Water Purification System
Nearly Eliminates Waterborne
Illness in Rus Rus
Clean drinking water means saved and healthier lives.
Before we installed Aquamira’s DIVVY water purification
system at Rus Rus Hospital, waterborne illness was a daily
part of village life and an ongoing treatment challenge for
our clinic staff.
Villagers pump purified water for their use. Photo by Andrew Tonn.
Since the water system went operational in August, waterborne illness in the village has dropped to less than one
case a month!
Field Program Update: Critical Project Needs
Guatemala: Cessna 206 Repair and Restoration
Two primary components of any flight program are a pilot and an
airplane for the pilot to fly.
Our pilot and Guatemala Program Director, Paul Jones, will soon
transition to Guatemala to lay the groundwork for deployment of the
airplane in 2014.
But before our airplane, N307Alpha-Charlie, can be deployed to
Guatemala and be used to deliver help and hope, it needs a new engine,
structural repairs, and upgraded avionics.
While the entire project will run $150,000 we have an immediate and
critical need for $95,000 to keep the project on track for completion:
New Engine: $75,000
Six Aircraft Safety Seats: $20,000
MMS Aviation Project Supervisor Dale Coates
(L) and mechanic Andy Swanson (R) repair the
horizontal stabilizer for 7 Alpha-Charlie. The
airplane can be seen in the background at MMS
Aviation’s hangar facility in Coshocton, OH.
Honduras: Kia K2700 Utility Truck
While we already have a Cessna 206 on the field in Rus Rus, Honduras, the critical tool necessary to expand our local
medical and evangelical outreach is ground transportation to reach nearby villages without air strips. Westley Wiles,
our Pilot-Mechanic and Hospital Administrator, has researched various utility vehicles and determined the Kia K2700
will best meet our needs.
The K2700 will provide the means for our nurse, and
visiting medical teams, to conduct medical clinics
within the villages themselves making medical services
more accessible and making preventative care much more
of a reality.
Having trustworthy ground transportation will also
increase our ability to conduct spiritual outreach to those
same villages as we combine sharing God’s love with
demonstrating Christ’s compassion.
Kia K2700: $20,000
($5,000 already raised!)
Please prayerfully consider helping us meet these two critical financial needs. A partnership slip
and return envelope are provided for your convenience. On-line gifts may be made by visiting the
secure donation page on our website: www.missionaryairgroup.org. Thank you for being such an
important part of delivering Help and Hope by Air to remote peoples in Central America!
