A Message from the General Manager

Pinnacle
Country
Club has
many excellent facilities for
enjoying golf, tennis and dining,
but by far our most valuable asset is all the dedicated associates who make eveything work
so well.
One benefit the Pinnacle
offers that is probably unique
in Arkansas is our scholarship
program. Any associate who
has met the qualifications and
wishes to continue their education may apply for scholarship
assistance from the Jerry Hitt
Memorial Scholarship Program. The Program was
started in 1993 with an initial
gift of $10,000 from Red
Hudson. To continue funding
the program the Club sponsored a one day golf event
followed by a dinner and fund
raising silent auction. While
the scholarship funding idea
is still a very worthy cause ,
this year we hope to fund the
program without the golf or
dinner event.
This year Mr. Red
Hudson has pledged to start
the effort off with a $5,000
donation. We will place a sign
up sheet in the Club so all
Members who wish to be a
part of this effort may make
their pledge. I hope every
Member will want to help our
associates continue their edu-
cation. Attracting and keeping top quality individuals
is the best way to assure
that the Pinnacle Country
Club will continue to offer
the level of service our
Members deserve.

MCHANEY Mixed Doubles
Tournament
Once again we celebrated
the Fourth of July with a
weekend of mixed doubles.
The Friday night social was a
hit, the silent auction again
gave a much-needed boost
to Hobbs State Park, and,
most importantly, nearly
every team was still speaking
to each other at the end!
Thanks so much to Pat and
Lynnette Harris and Terri
Brooks for sponsoring this
fantastic weekend.

GOLF
Let’s Talk
Golf
The season is
going very well.
After our first six
months the golf
shop is in very
solid position
compared to last year. Thanks to
all our Members who are using the
Club and taking such great care
of the golf course. Ball marks are
improving dramatically and course
condition is improving. We have
had a record number of entries
into the Member Guest,
tournament participation is up,
merchandise sales are up, a record
day for Demo Day. I am glad to
report things are going well in the
Pinnacle Golf Shop. Thanks again.
The Junior Golf Program is going
strong and has had over 70 kids.
Thanks to Mike Sevart from
Welch’s for providing our drinks for
our thirsty juniors. The Pinnacle
Golf Tournament was a huge
success with a record number of
entries. The Arkansas Cup team
will be decided after the Club
Championship and we have
several battles for positions on the
team. The Arkansas Cup will be
held here at Pinnacle September
16-18. Our team will be ready
to bring the Cup home.
If you are not receiving weekly
updates via email, make sure you
give me your email address. I
send out reminders of important
information about the Club and
this dramatically improves the
communication process between
the Membership and us.
Page 5
Weekend Tee Times
Our Membership is growing and the golf course is in demand. We
highly recommend that you make a tee time in advance for Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. We hate to have the situation of Members
showing up without a tee time. It is a formula that is sure to
disappoint someone.

REMINDERS:
Dress Code for Juniors
It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure
their child knows that they should have their
shirt tucked in and cap on forward. I have instructed
our staff to strictly enforce this rule.
Juniors Driving Golf Carts
Remember parents that Children must have a
valid drivers license to drive a golf cart. Please
help us to continue to make Pinnacle a safe place for
our children. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sand your Divots
Please remember to sand your divots in the
fairway. This helps speed up the recovery
process as well as prepares the surface for
someone behind you. You have sand bottles in your
carts and you can pick up replacements at the turn by
#10 tee.
Laser Link Guns
We have had great success with these guns. They
definitely speed up play and are very accurate. They are
$249 and are very simple to use. Get one today.
The Couples Member Guest is in
its second year and has a great
format.
Holes 1-6
2 Best Ball (1 Best Ball of Men, 1 Best Ball Women)
Holes 7-12
2 Best Ball (any 2 best ball)
Holes 13-18 2 Best Ball (1 Best Ball of each husband and wife team)
The entry fee is $200 and includes your golf, prizes, a gift for the guest
couple, and dinner for four afterwards.
