CALENDAR REMINDERS- SPRING ATHLETIC BANQUETS
Our Middle School Athletic Banquet is coming up on Saturday, April 25 th 6:00pm
at the Embassy Suites USF. We will have tickets for sale in the next few weeks.
Our Spring High School Athletic Banquet will be held on Thursday, May 14 th
6:00pm also at the Embassy Suites USF.
TRACK UPDATE
Some of our track team competed at the USF/Steinbrenner Invite. The boys team
finished 5th out of 53 schools at the meet. Jamari Johnson won both the Shot Put
and Discus. His Shot Put throw of 52’5.25” was a personal record and also a new
school record. Noah Perkins placed 3rd in the 3200m Run (2 Mile) with another
school record of 9 minutes, 27 seconds. Elizabeth Hammontree was 7 th in the Pole
Vault with a vault of 9’. T’erra Johnson was 7 th in the Discus with a throw of
103’10”. Those 4 members of the track team will compete at the prestigious UF
Relays next week. All other track team members will compete at the Berkeley
Quad meet on Thursday.
TENNIS DISTRICTS NEXT WEEK
The Girls and Boys Tennis teams will play in the district tournament next week.
The Girls Tournament is at Kelly Recreation Center in Lakeland, with action
starting at 9:00am on Monday. The Boys Tournament is at Woodlake Tennis
Courts in Lakeland also starting at 9:00am on Monday. The girls look to compete
for their first ever district championship. SCA seeding for the tournament is as
follows- Girls Singles: #1 Audrey Brown, #2 Ally Helsel, #3 Khaina Duncan, #4 Mia
Mitchell, #5 Natalie Bardin; Girls Doubles: #1 Audrey Brown/Ally Helsel, #2 Khaina
Duncan/Mia Mitchell. Boys Singles: #1 Solomon Grussing, #2 Cesar Estien, #3
Grant Denham, #4 Alex Blauth, #5 Brendan McDonald. Boys Doubles: #1 Solomon

Varsity Baseball Picks Up 2 Huge Wins
Varsity Baseball won their 2 games this
week. The first was a 10-5 victory over longtime rival Cambridge Christian. Max Plager
got the complete game victory on the
mound. Ryan Peeler, Max Plager, John Gibbons, and Rett Hobbs all had multi-hit
games to lead the hitting attack. The team
picked up its biggest win of the year the
following night at Bishop McLaughlin, who is
currently ranked #1 in our area by Bright
House Sports and top 5 in our area in other
polls. Luke Trimble got the complete game
win on the mound. Rett Hobbs had 3 hits
and Ryan Peeler had 2 hits in the game. Rett
Hobbs in 2nd in the county with a .490 Average and 25 hits. Ryan Peeler is 4th in the
county with a .467 Average and 21 hits.
VARSITY SOFTBALL NOW 6-0 IN
DISTRICT
Our Varsity Softball breezed to a 12-0 win
over Bishop McLaughlin this week to remain
undefeated in district play. The team has a
resumed game against Carrollwood Day on
Tuesday as part of a doubleheader. With a
win in either of those games, the team will
lock up the #1 seed in the district tournament. Anna Wellen was named Tribune Top
Performer this week with her 5 Home Runs.
Maddie Cates is 6th in the County with 19
RBI’s. Rachel Seifert is 2nd in the County in
strikeouts, fanning 127 batters this year. The
team is ranked 10th in Class 3A in the latest
Miracle Sports Softball Poll.
