A typical performance includes traditional tunes from Northumberland, newly-composed material by all members of the band and an introduction to the pipes, all delivered with a warmth and humour which is sure to draw in both folk aficionados and newcomers alike for a dazzling show filled with virtuosity and energy. Snow Child CHILDREN Box VH Sat 21 Nov 2015 Sheepscombe VH Sat 5 Dec 2015 A wonderfully entertaining evening featuring a unique and enthralling band of four hugely successful multi-instrumentalists/singers, who have performed all over the world, from Sydney Opera House to The Edinburgh Festival. They draw on their English, Irish, Asian and Gallic heritage to present a sophisticated musical mélange of pop songs, Latin tunes, French chanson, gypsy jazz, folk and originals. With violin, cello, guitar, vocals and percussion. Minchinhampton Market House Sun 1 Nov 2015 Snow Child is a magical story about family, love and the power of dreams. The first snow falls. Watching the village children play, a lonely couple yearn for a child of their own. They build a small figure from the ice and snow, and wish very, very hard … until the strength of their longing brings the magical snow child to life before their eyes! As the seasons turn, will the Snow Child and her parents find their ‘happily ever after’? Burke and Hare London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra Songs from the Great War T H E AT R E MUSIC MUSIC How many times can one actor get killed during one performance? Find out in this brand new comedy based on the infamous tale of William Burke and William Hare. Three actors play all the parts and maybe, just maybe, are stretching the truth … quite a lot. In fact, Burke and Hare has a hysterical, rather than historical, basis. From the company that brought you The Hound of the Baskervilles, expect many murders, many men called William, and many more accents. To The LPSO, skiffle means ‘anything goes’. Their performances are energetic, colourful, bizarre, tuneful, virtuoso and hilarious, incorporating a wealth of instruments, costume changes, audience participation and numerous props. Expect to hear music from all points of the globe, performed in that unique LPSO style! The four virtuoso musicians from England and France strut their stuff on a stage that bristles with instruments: flute, banjo, dulcimer, tin whistle, guitar, ukulele, stand up dustbin bass and a sackful of percussion. Throw in some exquisite harmonies, a slew of startlingly original songs and a few jokes that create instant rapport and you’ve got a high energy show that leaves audiences cheering for more. Meet the dedicated staff of The Story Exchange, who journey across Gloucestershire with their story barrow. From the hedgerows of Moreton, through The Forest of Dean, to heroically swimming across the River Severn, The Story Exchange’s mission is to breathe life into the fading stories of yesterday. Patricia strips the veneer from such favourites as ‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ and ‘Pack up your Troubles’, restoring long-neglected verses to the wildly popular choruses and telling the stories behind the compositions. A truly beautiful and moving show. Sheepscombe VH Sat 30 Apr 2016 The Baghdaddies play world music, specifically influenced by Balkan music, latin styles, calypso and ska with a British knees up sensibility that makes you question whether you are in Newcastle, Sarajevo or the Caribbean. They have played in Moscow, Madrid, Beijing and Barrow in Furness. They have played at Glastonbury Festival, and The Bell public house in Bath. They are amazing on stage and terribly good as wandering brass troubadours. * Promoted by Found In The Forest Youth Theatre Dracula Mambo Jambo The Mighty Prince T H E AT R E MUSIC CHILDREN Oxenhall VH Fri 15 Apr 2016 Beware.
