Skiing in Åre
Åre in Sweden is Northern Europe’s largest and most advanced and
diverse alpine sport resort, with skiing and a wide variety of other

Vasaloppet in Mora/Sälen
This is the oldest, longest and the largest cross-country skiing competition
in the world held the first Sunday in March. It’s a 90 km ski race and this
year there will be about 60 000 participants. The first race in 1922 was
inspired by a story by King Gustav Vasa in 1520 when he was escaping
the troops of Christian II, king of Denmark. There are many different
races during the week, from kids to seniors, everyone has a great time.

Skiing in Sälen
Sälen is a large ski area in northern Europe. In the alpine resorts Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen and Hundfjället there are 116 slopes and
86 lifts and 13 conveyor belts. The resort is clearly family-oriented with
many children’s adventure areas, fun parks and suits both varied skiing
for both beginners and experienced skiers. If you go there, don’t miss the
famous descent “Trollskogen”, in Hundfjället.

Vasamuseet in Stockholm
Vasa is a Swedish warship, which sank in Beckholmen in Stockholm on
her maiden voyage on August 10, 1628. After some early failed attempts
to salvage her in the 1600s, Vasa was forgotten until 1961 when it was
found and brought up. Now the remains is one of the most popular
museums in Sweden loved but children and adults alike.

Wintertour by boat in Stockholm

Peas have been grown in Sweden since the Stone Age and the soup was

The Icebar in Stockholm

Ice-skating in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm
Skating around this ice rink in the middle of the city is a must for many
winter visitors. Renting skates costs 50 sek/adult & 20 sek/child.
Opening hours vary, but the rink normally opens before lunch and closes
sometime between 18:30–20:30. You can always call them first to make

Salt & Sill floating Hotel in Västkusten
Sweden’s first floating hotel. Six cubic houses are built on pontoons and
float outside the restaurant. The hotel consists of six two-story buildings
on floating pontoons. The hotel has 23 rooms with 46 beds. Each room
has a private entrance and access to an outdoor seating area. Near the

Universeum in Göteborg
The largest science center in Sweden is named Universeum. In their sevenstory building you will find everything from rainforest trails and challenging ideas to the solar system and genius bursts. In the rainforest you’ll

who want to test what the muscles and brain cells are capable of can ride

Järvzoo in Järvsö
Järvzoo is a popular zoo, where you during your visit may see real wolves,
bears, lynx and wolverines. You’ll meet various typical animals and birds
from our northern latitude. Järvzoo is specialized in animal species living in the wild in the North of Sweden. There is a three-kilometer long
wooden deck trail through an amazing section of Hälsingland nature.

Bed and Breakfast at a Hälsingegård, Järvsö
Hälsingegårdar, Hälsinge farmhouses/manors, is a heritage of Hälsingland and each manor is unique with its own beautiful and interesting
architecture. The Hälsingegård named Ersk-Anders, which was built in
the 1500s, is now running a B&B. The rooms are designed the same way
as the year they were built and it’s a unique experience to stay there. It
gives a sense of having traveled back in time a few hundred years.

The world’s longest cable lift in Örträsk–Mensträsk
The cable lift was once used to ship ore from the mines in Kristineberg
and Boliden. The lift has been rebuilt since then and is now a unique
opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery and even to catch a glimpse of
a moose or other wildlife that lives in the area. If you want to get a little
extra out of your journey, you can pre-order meals to bring along during
the tour. Best of all – you are always guaranteed a window seat!

Midsummer’s Eve at Skansen, Stockholm
Midsummer’s Eve is the highlight of the summer and it’s the time for some
feast, dance and romance. On Midsummer the Swedes make something
called a “may pole” decorated with flowers. It symbolizes the blossoming
season and fertility. Dancing and singing around the pole, is followed by
a feast on typical Swedish dishes, “snaps” and an all night party. Skansen
has since 1892 invited people to celebrate Midsummer’s Eve where you will
be able to see traditional dancing by Swedes wearing their Swedish costumes

Stockholm Marathon in Stockholm
Stockholm Marathon is an annual marathon trough the city of
Stockholm. The race is always the first Saturday in June. If you are
not tempted to run yourself, it’s also fun to watch the participants.

Sandhamn in Stockholm archipelago
Sandhamn is a historical place situated in the outer archipelago. With
its unique position the island is a paradise to those of you longing for a
vivid archipelago with barren rocks and white sandy beaches. Both the
island and its surroundings are full of life. There are restaurants, bars,
hotels and shops. Leaving the harbor area behind, you find extensive

The ÅF Offshore race in Stockholm
The start of one of the world’s greatest ocean races, the ÅF Offshore
race, is going from Stockholm via Sandhamn in the end of June. It’s a
great sailing event and everyone is welcome, both as participants and as
spectators. The event will open a few days before the race and there will
be a lot of events, parties and fun activities for the whole family.

Kivik Musteri in Kivik, Österlen
The production of cider in Kivik is a tourist event which attracts over
200 000 visitors each year. You can, in a stunning environment, experience the making of cider, taste the amazing varieties or just relax in the
beautiful apple tree gardens. You may also dine at the various little cider
shops and buy some of the great varieties of freshly made cider.

High Chaparral in Kulltorp, Gnosjö
High Chaparral is a Wild West town built in the middle of southern

The making of glass in Kosta Boda
Kosta Boda is today the oldest operating glass factory in Sweden. Here
the furnaces have been in operation since 1742. Kosta Boda glass is popular in Sweden and their glass is sold all over the world. You will have
opportunity to, in the glow of the oven, follow the production of Kosta
Boda glass from the melting of the molten glass to glass blowing, grinding and painting. It is also possible to shop in their exclusive store.

Nimis and Arx in Kullaberg
Kullaberg is a stunningly beautiful nature reserve that is a treat for both
mind and soul. In the middle of the reserve, the artist Lars Vilks built
two funky artworks called “Nemis and Arx”. Lars had issues with local
authorities that refused to approve the project. Once the artwork finally
was in place, Lars Vilks claimed the small area as “an independent state”.
