A set of two FRS handhelds can be purchased at Wal-Mart for from $15 to $50. 10 Example of a “Ready Made” HF/VHF/UHF Field Station for Stake or Ward use An HF/VHF/UHF Mobil Station! One Yankee Auto Icom IC-706 Mk II-G HF/VHF/UHF Transceiver Mobil Whip HF Antenna with HR-4 or IT-100 Tuner MFJ 1734 VHF/UHF thru glass Antenna Misc power and feed lines 11 Hardware required for an HF/VHF/UHF Mobile Field Station HF Automatic Antenna Tuner HV & VHF Transceiver Power Cable VHF Mobile Antenna VHF feed line HF feed line HF Mobile Antenna This Mobile Station is so versatile it can be moved to any weak link location and perform every link function 12 Easy way to obtain an Amateur Radio License A Parable My 11 year old grandson asked me to help him qualify for a Radio Merit Badge. While doing this he wanted to get an Amateur Radio License. I had him call up the “QRZ.com” website and had him call up “practice radio exams”. He selected the “Technician License exam”. These practice exams draw from the same question pool that is used for the real exams. I walked him through two practice exams and challenged him to take two practice exams each day (15 to 20 minutes each exam). After two weeks this 11 year old was getting 80 to 90 percent on each exam (requires 71% to pass). He went to the next monthly Ham exam, passed the test, and qualified for his Technician License. If an 11 year old can do it – so can you! You can discover when and where your local exams are conducted from the internet. 13 NOW GO AND DO!
