Polygon Generating / Thread Milling Attachment
This attachment is made up as follows:
- Driving Pulley
- 2 Belts
- 2 Driven Pulleys
- Electromagnetic clutch with its support
- Telescopic Spline Shaft
- Toolbox with 5 helical gears inside
- Safety guard
- Electric Box
- Microswitch + Cam.
We started to manufacture this attachment in 1980. There are currently more than 600 of them operating
in Italy, where it is surely more popular than the original one.
It is preferred because of its great power and sturdiness, that allows the heaviest jobs.
The structure of the attachment is very simple and it can be easily fitted by anyone who follows the instruction manual.
The power is taken from the back of the bar spindle of the machine and it is transmitted by an electromagnetic clutch only when the attachment is in the working phase of the cycle.
The thread-milling and the polygon-generating operations are based on a different turning ratio (1:1 , 2:1).
The ratio can be changed very easily by changing the belt and the pulley, that is fitted on the clutch.
We suggest that this attachment should machine only metals like brass, bronze, copper and aluminium.
All the items necessary for the installation are provided.

- Hydraulic Cross Slide
- Original Toolholder adapted.
The original weak slide is replaced with our hydraulic one, that is able to carry our tool-holder gear-box.
Our slide can also be used for ordinary turning operations, in fact we supply a toolholder for original Index tools,
together with the attachment.

The ratio can be changed very easily by inserting the telescopic shaft into one of the two drives at the rear of
the gear-box.
The power is taken from the back of the main spindle of the machine and it is transmitted by an electromagnetic

The installation is very easy since it does not require any major changes in the machine.
The attachment can also generate three flat sides on the component.

We take the motion from the back of the bar-spindle with a driving pulley, so we are able to fit
a stronger telescopic spline shaft that makes easy the most difficult jobs on this machine.
Moreover we use the same toolbox to do both the operations (polygon generating ad thread
milling): you just need to change the driven pulley on the back with the other one that is supplied with the attachment.
