Our Restaurant’s Story
My grandfather opened our family’s first restaurant in Tokyo, Japan with the idea to
create a place where good friends would gather to experience great food.
My father, Rocky Aoki, moved to the United States to open a restaurant that would
not only carry on his father’s legacy, but do so in a way that added to the joy of each
occasion.
His restaurant, Benihana, went on to define Japanese
cuisine in cities around the world. Now it is my turn to
open a restaurant of my own. To start, I wanted to create a menu that honors
Japanese tradition, but with the sensibility of today’s desire for healthy eating.

Next, I wanted to create a setting that paid as
much attention to detail as my
grandfather did when building his
restaurant out of hand-picked wood from
old Japanese farmhouses.

For inspiration, I traveled back to
Japan where I was struck by the
intimacy of the many small courtyards
in Kyoto and the beauty of the work of
artisans I met along the way.

Japanese village. When seated at one of our tables, you will feel as if you are an invited guest in the home of
friends or family. I am proud to carry on my family’s tradition and to share my passion for Japanese cuisine
with old and new friends.

Teppanyaki refers to Japanese dishes cooked using a flat iron griddle, including steak,
shrimp, pork, fish, shellfish, rice and vegetables.
Izakaya, known as a Japanese pub, is a
place to share, unwind or just eat and
drink good food with friends.

Aoki original healthy fried rice brings you an authentic Japanese
style fried rice with a variety of Japanese short grain, jasmine,
brown, and Chinese black forbidden rice with mixed vegetables,
ginger, lemongrass
, garlic and Japanese somen noodles.

Dishes prepared with mostly vegetables.
Tableside salad preparation adds to your entertainment and
keeps our spring mix and iceberg lettuce, crisp and crunchy.
Tossed in a spinning bowl with fresh vegetables and served
with our signature ginger dressing, topped with smoked
Skipjack Tuna.
WAGYU BEEF
These highly pampered cattle are
provided regular massaging, sake and
beer for drinking, and sometimes
relaxing music in order to create the
tenderest, juiciest, flavorful, and
most expensive beef in the world.
SKIPJACK TUNA
Skipjack tuna is used extensively in Japanese cuisine,
where it is known as Katsuo. The Katsuo then undergoes
a meticulous aging process to create an outstandingly
delicious, slightly smokey fish flake called Katsuobushi.
COLD WATER LOBSTER
Found in the frigid waters of the northern
hemisphere, these lobsters are sweeter and tenderer
than their warm-water cousins. They can be
identified by their bright-red flesh and large claws.
DONBURI
A one-bowl meal of uniquely
prepared food served over rice
and presented in an
earthenware bowl.
PREMIUM KUROBUTA PORK (BLACK PIG)
The highly-prized black pig of Kagoshima is raised
free-range and organic, thus producing a pork that is
as tender and juicy as Wagyu beef.

A large squid that is tenderized
and cut into thick steaks for our
Teppan entrée.

In honor of the Aoki Samurai heritage, we are proud to offer the Specialty Maki (Rolls)
designed after these prominent historical samurai.
KODOMO
Kodomo means children in
Japanese. On May 5th,
Kodomo No Hi is a day set
aside to respect children's
personalities and to celebrate
their happiness. A Koinobori
(carp) flag is raised to
celebrate the event.
