Winthrop University is the home to a 350-acre recreational complex. The
crown jewel is the 6,000-seat Winthrop Coliseum. In addition to serving as
the home court for Winthrop’s NCAA Division I men’s and women’s basketball

and women’s volleyball games, the facility also accommodates conventions,

tradeshows, concerts and tournaments. In addition to the coliseum, the
Winthrop Farm area has outdoor playing facilities lighted for night competition.
One of the top-rated disc golf courses in the United States is located on the
rolling terrain that is centered by beautiful Winthrop Lake. The baseball team
plays at Winthrop Ballpark which provides comfortable chair back seating
for over 1,700 spectators. Terry Field is one of four women’s softball fields.
The soccer and lacrosse teams play at Eagle Field while the Irwin Belk Track
Complex provides Winthrop with one of the top collegiate track and field
facilities in the nation. Tennis is housed at Memorial Courts, a 12-court complex
that provides seating for 350 spectators. Winthrop’s cross country teams train
and compete on one of the top-rated courses that
features distances of 5 and 8k.

This 70-acre park features 6 regulation and 2 championship soccer
fields in a beautifully landscaped setting. The soccer pavilion includes
concessions, restrooms, park offices and a multi-purpose meeting space.
The park features a lake, playgrounds, lake pavilion and walking trails.
Soccer and lacrosse tournaments as well as special events are welcome!

Completed in 2005, the South Pointe High School Sports Complex features
tennis courts, a baseball stadium, softball stadium, soccer fields and a
football stadium that seats 6,500 plus. The “District Three South” stadium
has a natural grass field turf, a 400-meter eight lane track, field houses and
locker rooms.
Also included at South Pointe are 10 lighted regulation hard tennis courts.
There are two regulation soccer fields and two football practice fields. This
complex also offers two additional multi-purpose fields at the adjacent
Saluda Trail Middle School, which shares the same property as the high
school.
With three main lots, including the main Center section, East section and
West section, parking is abundant and reiterates how this complex can
accommodate large scale events.

Award winning Cherry Park has been host to national, regional and
state softball and baseball tournaments since 1986. A bronze statue
of Mighty Casey, well-known to softball and baseball enthusiasts,
stands at the entrance to the softball/baseball complex. The facility
consists of 5 fenced diamonds as well as 5 multi-purpose fields for
sports and other events. Walking trails, playgrounds, picnic shelter
and concessions complete this beautiful 68 acre park.

The Rock Hill Outdoor Center is the southeast’s premier year-round
recreational facility nestled along the banks of the Catawba River in the active
outdoor community of Riverwalk.
Facilities and events foster health, wellness and athleticism while providing a
community-based environment that supports sports and entertainment. It is
a venue for families to bike, hike and play; a hub for organized athletic teams;
and a meeting place for local cycling and kayaking enthusiasts. Nationally,
it is becoming recognized as a world-class training center for Olympic and
professional cyclists as well as a host of championship events.
The Rock Hill Outdoor Center features the Piedmont Medical Center Trail with
stunning river views and the 250m Giordana Velodrome. The velodrome caters
to Olympic-caliber racers yet welcomes cyclists of all abilities and ages.
In addition to the velodrome, the facility will boast the Presbyterian Sports
Medicine BMX Supercross track, miles of Mountain Bike Trails with river views,
challenging Cyclocross trails and cycle-friendly streets throughout the village
including a closed Road Course.

the beginner to the elite athlete. The 10-lane competition
pool and 8-lane warm water pool bring competition

“fastest” pools in the Southeastern region. A high, woodbeamed cathedral ceiling and stadium seating give the
facility unsurpassed acoustic abilities and make for a
