Who We Are
We are a diverse group of men
and women who are dedicated to
the patients at University Hospital
at Stony Brook Medicine.
We give our time and effort to
help raise money for projects for
which other sources of funding
are not available. We help provide
the very best in patient care and
promote the health and welfare of
the community. We have raised
more than $6 million. We sponsor
various outreach programs,
including the Walk for Beauty for
Breast Cancer Research. It is very
possible that you or someone you
care about has benefited from what
we have done. We derive our funding
for these projects from the Auxillary
Gift Shop, in-house vendor sales, and
New and Used Sales, as well as from
patients television rentals and
membership dues. We accomplish
all of this through the dedication
and enthusiastic support
of our members.

Spotlight
On:
Vial Of Life
Vial of Life Program Sponsored by
SBUH Auxiliary has a new look
and vitality, including bilingual
reference materials. This program
provides information to emergency
medical providers about the health
history of people in distress.
A magnet is placed on your home
refrigerator directing EMTs to a
medication bottle in the refrigerator
which contains patient history and
medication lists, so that safe
treatment can begin as quickly as
possible. The Auxiliary originally
donated $5,000 to kick off the
program in 2008 and this year
has funded the entire project.
Stony Brook’s Cancer Center is
coordinating the 2013 launch.
The Giving Doll
