New Products Contents New Products New Products.......................................4 Pistols Kimber Classic Firearms. Kimber ® was founded with the singular purpose of building fine sporting firearms, better even than classics from the golden age of American gunmaking. Modern manufacturing techniques would be embraced and used to advantage, but assembly, fit and finish could only depend on practiced hands. There would be no compromise in features, materials or performance. The Choice of America’s Best. Rifles led the way, followed by pistols and finally shotguns. As new models were introduced more shooters and hunters were attracted by classic lines, dependability, features and accuracy. In turn, demand fueled growth and encouraged continual product improvement. Today more than ever, the reputation of the Kimber brand reflects the original purpose – and Kimber is known as America’s leading manufacturer of premium production firearms. Quality Without Compromise. Kimber measures success by product quality and customer satisfaction – not sales volume or market share. After all, if you trust a Kimber for protection, carry one hunting or shoot one in competition, quality is everything. That mindset comes naturally. From the top down, Kimber is made up of dedicated shooters and hunters who insist that their guns be the best. Kimber quality has led to unprecedented demand. Organizations like the U.S.A. Shooting Team, LAPD™ SWAT and U.S. Marines assigned to Special Operations Command chose Kimber. American shooters did too, in a big way, and Kimber has become the world’s largest producer of 1911 pistols. From Alaska to Africa, hunters rely on Kimber rifles to take the trophy of a lifetime. Lately, shotgunners have been comparing Kimber doubles to the best efforts from Spain and England. At Kimber, quality will always be paramount and the true measure of success. This ensures a Kimber will continue to be the first choice of America’s best shooters. Pistols Kimber is the proven world leader in 1911 quality. Carry a Kimber. Carry the best. Rif les Hunting or tactical, Kimber rifles have established the performance benchmark. Shotguns Kimber shotguns blend elegance and liveliness in the tradition of English best doubles. 1911 Pistols.........................................8 Custom II.............................................10 Gold Match II. ....................................12 Compact II & Pro Carry II....................14 Ultra Carry II........................................16 Tactical II.............................................18 Eclipse II..............................................20 SIS.......................................................22 Covert II..............................................24 Aegis II................................................26 CDP II..................................................28 Custom Shop......................................30 Rimfire................................................32 KPD......................................................34 Rifles Rifles...................................................38 Model 84M.........................................40 Model 8400........................................44 Caprivi & Talkeetna.............................50 Tactical. ..............................................51 Shotguns Shotguns............................................52 Specifications Pistol Specifications...........................54 Rifle Specifications............................56 Shotgun Specifications......................58 KPD Specifications............................58 Accessories Meprolight Sights.............................59 LifeAct................................................60 Accessories & Logo Gear....................62 New Pistols, Rifles & Accessories New Pistols, Rifles & Accessories From .45 ACP to .458 Lott. Making little pistols in big calibers demands precision. After all, little pistols are usually carried for protection or by law enforcement officers as backup. If needed, the importance of dependability and performance are impossible to overstate. The new Ultra RCP II – Refined Carry Pistol – from the Kimber Custom Shop is the smallest 1911 .45 ACP pistol available today. Weighing just 25 ounces, the profile has been dramatically reduced to allow for covert carry in an ankle holster, pocket or purse. External controls like thumb safety, grip safety and hammer are bobbed. Sights have been entirely removed in favor of a full-length sighting trough machined into the slide. The heel of the frame and mainspring housing are rounded as well. Going the other direction, the Stainless Raptor II is a full-size 1911 .45 ACP that is sure to get noticed. Also from the Custom Shop, it features a flat top slide with back-cut row of scales, plus scaled slide and frontstrap serrations. The theme is even carried to the rosewood logo grips. Slide and frame flats are also hand-polished and curves are bead blasted to satin. Standard features include ambidextrous thumb safety, bumped beavertail grip safety and night sights. Several models are being offered in 9mm for the first time, including the Stainless II, Stainless Gold Match II, Stainless Pro Carry II, Stainless Ultra Carry II and Ultra CDP II. Action shooting competitors can now pick up a Team Match II in .38 Super, and consumer demand has lead to the addition of the Pro TLE II in .45 ACP. Like all Kimber pistols, these new models feature match grade barrels, chambers and trigger groups. Equally important, each one is made in Kimber’s state-of-the-art factory right here in America. Classically African, the Model 8400 Caprivi is available in .375 H&H Mag. & .458 Lott. Details on page 50. This is a big year for big rifles. The Model 8400 Caprivi in .375 H&H and .458 Lott is a classic dangerous game rifle in every respect. The properly shaped stock is fashioned from AA-French walnut and incorporates an ebony forend tip, pancake cheekpiece and hand-cut 24 LPI wrap-around checkering. Specialized features include an island rear sight with a regulated standing leaf and two folding leaves left green for custom filing, barrel-mounted sling swivel stud, recessed rear swivel stud, twin crossbolts and a handrubbed oil finish. Magazine capacity is even four rounds. Like every Kimber, the Caprivi relies on a full-length Mauser claw for true controlled round feeding and extraction. Specially designed for hunting situations that require long-range shooting with unwavering accuracy, the Model 8400 Sonora is chambered in .25-06 Rem., .30-06 Spfd. and .300 Win. Mag. Bedded on pillars and glass in a laminated sporter stock, the match grade barrel is machined to a heavy sporter contour. The Model 8400 is also available in the new .300 and .338 RCM calibers. The Model 8400 Talkeetna .375 H&H offers the weather-proof advantages of a stainless steel barreled action and Kevlar-reinforced synthetic stock. Premium open sights, barrel-mounted sling swivel stud, pillar and glass bedding and controlled round feeding are standard. Barrel, chamber and trigger are match grade, ensuring unequaled accuracy. Finally, the Model 8400 Classic Select Grade is now offered in America’s most popular hunting cartridges - .270 Win., .30-06 Spfd., .300 Win. Mag. and .338 Win. Mag. Montana and Classic Select Grade versions of the Model 84M are now available in one of the all-time great hunting cartridges, the .257 Roberts. Weighing just over 5 pounds, these combinations are ideal for deer, antelope and mountain game. The Stainless Raptor II .45 ACP from the Custom Shop has a host of custom features that enhance performance. Details on page 30. The Model 8400 Talkeetna .375 H&H is ready for Alaska-tough weather. New Pistols, Rifles & Accessories New Pistols, Rifles & Accessories From plain clothes to tactical. The quality of a company’s products is best determined by the quality of its customers. True professionals accept nothing less than the best tools, and professionals who carry pistols for a living continue to choose Kimber 1911s. The LAPD Special Investigation Section – better known as SIS – is an elite, plain clothes surveillance team. They work closely with LAPD™ SWAT, and SWAT has carried Kimber 1911 .45 ACPs since 2002. After deciding to switch to a 1911 platform and based on SWAT’s satisfaction with their pistols, SIS asked Kimber to design a pistol that met their unique requirements. Kimber agreed, developing a family of four pistols that SIS Detectives are now carrying. The entire family is also available to the public. ™ SIS pistols feature gray KimPro II finish, SIS-pattern slide serrations, SIS Night Sight™ with cocking shoulder for onehanded cocking, lightweight SIS Hammer™ for reduced lock time and increased accuracy, stainless steel slide and frame, and special stippled logo grips. Details are on page 22. The new KPD – Kimber Pro Defense – is an affordable .40 caliber pistol designed for law enforcement and personal protection. A marvel of simple and safe operation, the KPD is light and easy to maintain. Equally important, it is thin, and with included interchangeable backstraps the KPD can be quickly fitted to even small hands so it points naturally. In addition to the safety and simplicity of a double-action-only restrike trigger system with a 6.5 pound pull that is smooth and consistent through the compete cycle, the KPD also has a magazine disconnect safety and loaded chamber indicator. The polymer frame includes a Picatinny rail for light mounting, and the slide is manufactured from solid stainless steel. Details begin on page 34. At the request of law enforcement and military professionals, Kimber has introduced three tactical rifles with specialized features for different applications. The Model 84M LPT – Light Police Tactical – is based on the Model 84M action specifically designed for the .308 Win. cartridge. Chambered in .223 Rem. and .308 Win., it is ideal for urban applications when portability is important. The Model 8400 Tactical and Model 8400 Advanced Tactical rifles are built on the full-size Model 8400 action. Features include 20 MOA Picatinny rails and McMillan tactical stocks with imbedded camo pattern. The Advanced Tactical stock is adjustable, and this model includes a Storm Hardigg case. Both are offered in .308 Win., and the Advanced Tactical is also available in .300 Win. Mag. Details are on page 51. A unique kit for each tactical rifle is offered separately. They include hard case, Leupold® scope, rings, sling, bipod, tools and cleaning supplies. Details are on page 62. Exclusively from Kimber, the LifeAct™ Guardian Angel and JPX Jet Protector® are the most advanced non-lethal products available today. Both deliver a pyrotechnically-driven blast of powerful OC – the active ingredient in the best pepper spray products – too fast for an aggressor to dodge. Unlike other non-lethal products, they stop a threat at a distance. Details are on page 60. Meprolight® night sights and reflex sights have established a world-wide reputation for brightness and durability. Backed by the strongest illumination warranty in the business, Meprolight sights are available for almost every Kimber pistol, and as accessories for most pistols, revolvers and long guns frequently used by law enforcement. Meprolight reflex sights provide a bright aiming point without battery power and quickly attach/detach to a Picatinny rail. Imported exclusively by Kimber, Meprolight is the right sight in any light. The KPD is a double-action-only pistol in .40 caliber ideal for law enforcement or defense. Details on page 34. The LAPD ™ Special Investigation Section – SIS – asked Kimber to create a family of .45 ACPs for duty carry. The SIS Custom RL (left), SIS Ultra (center) and SIS Pro (right) feature stainless steel slides and frames, plus special SIS Night Sights and serrations. Details on page 22. LifeAct™ non-lethal products use a pyrotechnic drive to stop threats at a distance. Details on page 60. The Model 8400 Advanced Tactical in .308 Win. or .300 Win. Mag. is one of three tactical models. Details on page 51. Meprolight night sights and reflex sights are available for most popular pistols and rifles. Details on page 59. Pistols Unequaled quality and dependability made Kimber number one. Others make claims, copy and compare – even want you to believe they make pistols in America. Let them take their best shot at number one. Just make sure you take your best shot with a Kimber. Kimber 1911 pistols are topped with premium fixed, adjustable or night sights securely mounted in machined dovetails. Every Kimber 1911 pistol is proudly made in a state-of-the-art American factory from the finest raw materials and with manufacturing tolerances up to three times as tight as the competition. Over 200 inspections are performed during the manufacturing process by both people and specialized machines. When completed, every pistol must pass a comprehensive safety inspection that includes test firing to ensure all quality standards have been met. Unlike other manufacturers, Kimber does not purchase from 1911 parts houses. After all, the only way to do things right is to do them yourself. Over the years, the Kimber 1911 line has grown to include more than 100 models in a wide variety of sizes and calibers. Some are intended for specific uses like concealed carry or competition, while others do just about everything. Some are more traditional 1911s and many are loaded with special features and built by hand in the Custom Shop. Complete details of the full line begin on the following page and over 2,000 Kimber Master Dealers are in place across America, waiting to help with your selection. Visit one today, because there is no reason to settle for anything less than the best. The Ultra CDP II .45 ACP is short, light and absolutely dependable. It is the finest full-power concealed carry pistol available today. Custom features like high ride beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety and Commander-style hammer are part of every Kimber. Kimber makes the best 1911. Others make comparisons. If you ever need to protect yourself or your family there is no better pistol to have in your hand than a Kimber 1911. Safe, powerful, accurate and fast – 1911 pistols point naturally and their absolute dependability has been proven through generations of uninterrupted use. Kimber builds the finest 1911 pistols in the world. A bold statement, maybe, but backed by the actions of the best law enforcement units, military forces and competition shooters. Legendary LAPD™ SWAT tested five major 1911 brands and chose Kimber. United States Marines assigned to Special Operations Command carry Kimber. The U.S.A. Shooting Team trains for rapid fire Olympic competition with Kimber. On the strength of unequaled quality, Kimber sells more pistols into the growing 1911 market than any other manufacturer. Predictably, every year another gun company that specializes in something else trots out a 1911 with hopes of grabbing market share. While none of these pistols matches Kimber in quality or features – and many cost more – they do a great job of confusing things. Follow the lead of the experts. Don’t settle for anything less than the best. Trust your next shot to Kimber. Kimber 1911 barrels are carefully machined with match grade dimensions to ensure accuracy, and they are also one piece for superior strength. Barrel bushings on centerfires are also match grade, and all are machined from stainless steel blanks. Chambers are cut to exacting match grade dimensions and then carefully finished for flawless feeding and extraction. Ejection ports are lowered and flared so ejecting brass clears easily. Everything is done inside the Kimber factory. Kimber pistols have factory tuned match grade trigger groups that break crisp and clean. Slide and magazine releases are slightly extended for quick location and easy operation. Frame has a high kidney cut for best grip position. Custom II Custom II 11 Custom quality. Production price. Until just a few years ago, the only way to get a 1911 pistol as good as the Kimber Custom was from a custom pistolsmith. Drop off a pistol, wait a few months and spend more than a few hundred dollars, hoping all the while that what you got back would look decent and actually work. Kimber changed all that, delivering a 1911 pistol with unequaled accuracy and dependability right out of the box, one costing less than what shooters had been paying for their custom work alone. More than anything else, the advent of the Kimber Custom ignited the 1911 popularity seen today. The Custom is now the Custom II, because like most Kimber 1911s it incorporates the Kimber Firing Pin Safety™ that makes each pistol more secure without impeding performance or altering trigger pull. It has also become a family, with twenty one models in four calibers. LAPD™ SWAT Team carries them. So do United States Marines, thousands of law enforcement officers and hundreds of thousands of American shooters who refuse to compromise with either a lesser pistol design or another brand. "…the advent of the Kimber Custom ignited the 1911 popularity seen today." Today, the Kimber Custom sets the standard for all production 1911 pistols. Models are offered with fixed, adjustable or night sights. Some have the Kimber Tactical Rail™ for accessory mounting. Many have slides and frames machined from stainless steel. Others are finished in traditional polished blue or the premium KimPro II® finish that is selflubricating and shuts out the elements. Chamberings range from 9mm and the flat-shooting 38 Super to the powerful 10mm. Naturally, most are chambered in the cartridge the 1911 was designed to fire, the great .45 ACP. Custom II Custom Target II Stainless Target II As with all Kimber pistols, standard features set Customs apart from other brands. Barrels, barrel bushings, chambers and triggers are all machined to match grade dimensions. Ejection ports are lowered and flared. Sights are mounted in dovetails machined into the slide. Thumb safeties are extended. Highride beavertail grip safeties also have a memory bump. Kimber Customs are made the right way and from start to finish in the Kimber factory here in America. There is no other way to ensure such a high level of quality. Stainless TLE II Centerfire 1911s have a Loaded Chamber Indicator Port™. When a round is chambered and light is available, the shell casing should be visible through the slot. Slides and frames are mated in the early stages of production and travel through the balance together, ensuring optimum fitting of every part. The Custom TLE II .45 ACP is identical to the pistol selected by LAPD™ SWAT for duty carry. Features include night sights and 30 LPI frontstrap checkering. Gold Match II Gold Match II The choice of the U.S.A. Shooting Rapid Fire Pistol Team. The Gold Match II™ and Stainless Gold Match II™ are the finest production pistols offered by Kimber. Sharing many features with the Custom family, they also have a stainless steel match grade barrel that is machined oversized and fitted by hand in the Custom Shop for accuracy. Grip panels are shaped from fine rosewood, and then checkered by hand in the classic double diamond pattern. Kimber’s adjustable sight with positive and responsive steel-on-steel click adjustment dials is dovetail-mounted into the slide. With a low profile, beveled corners and edges, and serrated blade, it works just as well for concealed carry as it does at the range. The level of finish is outstanding, with all flat surfaces carefully polished to a high shine in contrast to the satin finish on the curves. Both versions are available in .45 ACP. Additional features include ambidextrous thumb safety and Premium Aluminum Trigger tuned to 3.5 – 4 pounds without creep or overtravel. Team Match II pistols in .45 ACP and 38 Super are identical to the pistol used by the U.S.A. Shooting Rapid Fire Pistol Team. While they shoot Olympic competition with rimfire pistols, they hone their edge by shooting the action circuit with America’s fastest guns. They play to win, and came to Kimber when they needed pistols. To support the Team, Kimber agreed to donate $100 from the sale of each Team Match II pistol. To date, Kimber has contributed $600,000 due to the popularity of the Team Match II pistol, and is now the largest donor of any firearm company in Team history. Unique features of this pistol include red, white and blue U.S.A. Shooting Team logo grips. Kimber Gold Match pistols are the apex of nearly 100 years of 1911 pistol evolution. What was originally a military sidearm has become what most law enforcement officers, tactical experts and competition shooters use and recommend as the best choice in a premium pistol available today. Chances are also better than good that the 1911 brand they use and recommend is Kimber, and no Kimber is better for all-around use than a Gold Match. The Team Match II is used by the U.S.A. Shooting Rapid Fire Pistol Team to train for Olympic competition. "…the finest production pistols offered by Kimber." All Kimber 1911 pistols have a carefully beveled magazine well that aids quick reloading by guiding the magazine into the frame. The Gold Match II .45 ACP is Kimber’s finest production pistol – extremely accurate and tuned for absolute dependability. The Stainless Gold Match II .45 ACP has a stainless steel barrel fitted to the bushing in the Custom Shop. Gold Match II Features: Gold Match II and Team Match II pistols have an ambidextrous thumb safety and special grips. Hard to beat. The 1911 is the finest defense pistol ever brought to market. Beyond its legendary power and dependability, a 1911 is safe, fast into action and flat enough to tuck under a belt or ride well in a holster. Models with shorter barrels and shorter, lighter frames are some of the most popular concealed carry pistols available today. Kimber Pro Carry pistols feature a 4-inch match grade bull barrel that fits directly to the slide without a bushing. One inch shorter than a full-size 1911, they are every bit as dependable but easier to conceal. Pro Carry pistols are available with steel, stainless steel or lightweight aluminum frames that reduce overall weight by seven ounces. Kimber aluminum frames are machined from solid blocks of 7075-T7 aluminum to the same critical dimensions as Kimber steel frames. They have been tested to over 20,000 rounds without evidence of meaningful wear. The Compact Stainless II .45 ACP goes a step further. Both the barrel and frame are shorter than a full-size 1911. With a stainless steel slide and frame, this pistol is both rugged and easy to control during rapid fire. Pro Carry pistols are available with a wide variety of features like night sights, Crimson Trace® Lasergrips®, Kimber Tactical Rail™ and frontstrap checkering. Most are chambered in .45 ACP. Select models are also available in 9mm and 38 Super. "…tested to over 20,000 rounds without evidence of meaningful wear." Many of the standard features found on every Kimber 1911 pay off double in a carry pistol. Sights and edges are rounded and blended so clothing will not catch. The magazine well is beveled and the magazine release button is extended for fast reloading. The match grade trigger breaks clean and consistent from shot to shot. Still, Kimber quality is the most important feature – because that is your assurance of superb dependability. Selecting a carry pistol is one of the most important decisions anyone will ever make. Make sure not to settle for anything less than the best. Pro Carry II Compact and Pro Carry pistols have 4-inch bushingless match grade bull barrels so they are easier to carry and conceal. A carry pistol that stays home because it is too big and heavy to actually carry is no good, and an underpowered pistol that does get carried is not much better. A Kimber Ultra Carry is the pistol you need if you are serious about concealed carry and self defense. Kimber is the world leader in 1911 quality, and nowhere is this quality more evident or important than in a carry pistol. Kimber Ultra Carry pistols weigh just 25 ounces. Their short 3-inch barrels, compact grips and flat 1911 profiles make them easy to carry and conceal. At the same time, their 7-round magazines pack more power than just about any caliber of revolver. Dependability is everything in a carry pistol. Each Kimber Ultra Carry has a lowered and flared ejection port with an extra bevel at the front to clear ejecting brass. The match grade bushingless bull barrel is fitted directly to the slide, and a double-wound recoil spring system makes proper operation possible even for a novice. With separate thumb and grip safeties the 1911 design is known for its integrity, and the Kimber Series II™ Firing Pin Safety makes the Ultra Carry even more secure without impeding performance or altering trigger pull. Additionally, the Loaded Chamber Indicator Port™ permits a quick visual check of the chamber. "Dependability is everything in a carry pistol." Ultra Carry .45 ACP pistols weigh just 25 ounces. With a 3-inch barrel they are easy to carry and conceal. Both the Ultra Carry II / Night Sights (above) and the Stainless Ultra Carry II / Night Sights .45 ACP pistols have low profile night sights. All Ultra Carry pistols have a carefully machined 7075-T7 aluminum frame. Made on the same state-of-the-art machines and to the same tight tolerances as Kimber steel and stainless steel frames, they are incredibly strong. Designed for comfortable carry over long periods of time, lightweight aluminum frames dramatically reduce overall weight without compromising performance or dependability. A full-size Tactical weighs seven ounces less than a comparable pistol with a steel or stainless steel frame. A virtual necessity for a carry or duty pistol, low profile fixed three dot (green) night sights are mounted in dovetails machined into the slide for durability. Tritium inserts make sure that if you can see your target, you can see your sights. Sight edges are also rounded and blended to keep them from snagging on clothing or holsters. To ensure a positive grip regardless of conditions, frontstraps as well as the bottom of the trigger guards have flawless 30 lines-per-inch checkering. Laminated gray/black wood grips checkered in the traditional double diamond pattern and matte black small parts round out the package. The Eclipse Target II™ and the Eclipse Custom II™ are traditional full-size pistols with front and rear slide serrations. The Custom is available in both .45 ACP and 10mm, one of the most powerful cartridges ever chambered in a semi-automatic pistol. The Eclipse has become one of the most copied pistol series Kimber has ever offered. Well and good, but a copy is not an equal. No other 1911 brand matches Kimber in American-made quality, dependability or performance. Anything else is just something less. The Eclipse Pro II™ and Eclipse Pro Target II™ have 4-inch match grade bushingless bull barrels fitted directly to the slide. The Eclipse Pro Target II is the only 4-inch Kimber 1911 with adjustable night sights. Even more specialized is the Eclipse Ultra II™, one of two 3-inch short-grip Kimber pistols that does not have an aluminum frame. Like other Eclipse pistols, this little .45 ACP has a stainless steel frame, and its added weight reduces muzzle lift and makes it easier to recover a sight picture during rapid fire. One of the most elite tactical law enforcement units in America, the LAPD™ Special Investigation Section – or SIS – was formed in 1965. Specially trained in surveillance, these plain-clothes professionals often stake out and covertly follow violent criminals until they can make an arrest during the commission of a crime. SIS is also a trendsetter, developing tactics and testing special weapons before they are generally issued. Due to the nature of their assignments, SIS Detectives depend on their pistols to a much greater extent than uniformed officers or tactical team members. this change were the superior accuracy of the 1911 platform and SWAT’s satisfaction with their Kimber pistols. In development for over two years, Kimber SIS pistols are now a reality. What began as a single pistol became a family of four models that would serve a full spectrum of tactical needs. SIS was given Departmental approval to transition to the Kimber 1911 in late 2006, and completed the transition in 2007. SIS also agreed that these pistols could be offered to the public. In 2002, LAPD™ SWAT selected a Kimber 1911 .45 ACP as their duty pistol, purchased approximately 160 units and placed them in service. In 2005, SWAT Team members put SIS Detectives in contact with Kimber, and the Detectives requested that Kimber work with them to create a duty pistol that met their high standards and unique requirements. The stated reasons for making "The stated reasons for making this change were the superior accuracy of the 1911 platform and SWAT’s satisfaction with their Kimber pistols.” SIS pistols have stainless steel slides, frames and serrated mainspring housings. Unique features include flat top slide and the SIS Night Sight™ with a cocking shoulder that allows one-hand cocking. The lightweight SIS Hammer™ reduces lock time and improves accuracy, and the solid trigger, SIS-pattern slide serrations, gray KimPro II finish and black small parts give these pistols a striking appearance. Beavertail grip safeties are bumped and grooved, slide and frame edges are softened with a Kimber Service Melt™ and ambidextrous thumb safeties are included. A stainless steel KimPro Tac-Mag premium magazine and stippled black laminate logo grips are also standard. Both the SIS Custom and SIS Custom RL feature a short guide rod for quick field stripping. The SIS Ultra incorporates a rounded mainspring housing and frame. Most importantly, each of the four models has unequaled Kimber quality, dependability and performance. Once again, Kimber is the choice of America’s best. The SIS Custom .45 ACP features a stainless steel slide and frame, stippled logo grips, ambidextrous safety and solid trigger. Unique features include SIS slide serrations, light weight SIS Hammer™ and SIS Night Sights™ with cocking shoulder. The SIS Ultra has a rounded frame and mainspring housing. A 3-inch barrel makes it ideal for backup or concealed carry. The new SIS family of pistols was designed in cooperation with LAPD™ SIS Detectives for their duty carry. Slides and frames are machined from stainless steel. All SIS models have flat top slides. The gray KimPro II finish is self-lubricating and extremely resistant to the elements. SIS Model SIS Ultra™ SIS Pro™ SIS Custom™ SIS Custom RL™ The SIS Pro combines a full-length grip with a shorter, 4-inch barrel, perfect for duty or concealed carry in a belt holster. The SIS Custom RL has all the features of the SIS Custom, plus a Kimber Tactical Rail for flashlight mounting. SIS Features: NEW NEW NEW NEW Caliber .45 ACP .45 ACP .45 ACP .45 ACP • All models have 30 LPI frontstrap checkering with bordered base, Kimber Service Melt™ for rounded edges and solid trigger. • Custom and Custom RL models have standard length guide rods. • Ultra model has rounded frame and mainspring housing. • A complete listing of specifications and features begins on page 54. 23 Covert II Covert II 25 Hard to miss, in more ways than one. The Covert series of .45 ACP carry pistols from the Kimber Custom Shop™ is all business, a perfect blend of light weight, tactical features and dependability. Each of the three models has a frame machined from solid bricks of 7075-T7 aluminum, carry melt treatment for rounded and blended edges that will not snag on clothing or holsters, dovetail-mounted Tactical Wedge™ three dot (green) night sights and 30 lines-per-inch frontstrap checkering with a new bordered base pattern. Covert frames are finished in Desert Tan KimPro II, a premium finish that is both self-lubricating and exceptionally durable (see page 62). The slide and all small parts are finished in matte black oxide for dynamic contrast. Crimson Trace® Lasergrips® in an exclusive digital camo pattern with the Kimber logo provide real-world advantages for both training and tactical applications. Lasergrips easily zero to cover point of impact, have a recessed on/off button and are automatically activated by a pressure switch positioned just below the trigger guard. Standard features include match grade barrel, chamber and trigger group, beveled magazine well, lowered and flared ejection port, extended thumb safety, beavertail grip safety with memory bump and magazine with extended bumper pad (except Ultra). Like all Kimber Custom Shop pistols, each Covert is fit and finished by hand. This assurance of dependability is critical, as a pistol carried for personal protection must work without fail. Of course, proven dependability why Kimber is the world’s largest manufacturer of 1911 pistols. The Custom Covert II is a full-size .45 ACP that carries like a compact. Weighing just 31 ounces, 7 ounces less than a similar pistol with a steel frame, it rides easily in a holster. The carry melt treatment done by hand in the Custom Shop rounds edges that might otherwise dig in or grab. Tactical Wedge night sights make sure that if you can see a target, you can see your sights, and Lasergrips provide a second sighting option that can be critical in a defense situation. The Pro Covert II has a full-length grip but a shorter 4-inch bull barrel. At just 28 ounces, it is one of the best choices for both duty and concealed carry offered by Kimber. In fact, many professionals prefer a mid-size 1911 for daily carry, as the shorter barrel reduces weight and tends not to interfere with driving or sitting for long periods. At the same time, a full-size magazine carries 7 rounds of .45 ACP. The Ultra Covert II .45 ACP weighs just 25 ounces, and a short 3inch bull barrel and abbreviated grip makes it ideal for concealed or backup carry. Even then, magazine capacity remains 7 rounds. One of Kimber’s best compact pistols, dependability is ensured by beveling both the front and rear of the ejection port, polishing the breech face and incorporating a ramped barrel. With any Kimber Covert pistol, you can carry with confidence. “...a perfect blend of light weight, tactical features and dependability.” Covert pistols feature a Desert Tan KimPro II™ frame which compliments the black slide and small parts. The Ultra Covert II™ .45 ACP has a 3-inch bushingless bull barrel and snag-free carry bevel treatment. Weight is just 25 ounces. The Pro Covert II™ has a 4-inch bushingless The Covert II .45 ACP weights just 31 ounces. bull barrel. Aegis II Aegis II 27 Sometimes, less is more. Many consider a 1911 the all-time best pistol design for carry and defense. After all, a 1911 points naturally, trigger pull is unmatched and reliability has been proven over nearly 100 years of service. The single objection to the 1911, at least by some, is the recoil of the .45 ACP cartridge. For shooters who prefer the mild recoil of the 9mm but still demand the unequaled dependability, smooth trigger pull and accuracy of a 1911, Kimber has created the Aegis family. Like the Ultra Aegis II (below), all Aegis pistols are made in the Kimber Custom Shop. Frames are machined from solid bricks of 7075-T7 aluminum on the same machines and to the same precision tolerances as Kimber steel frames. Aegis frames are light, making these pistols an absolute pleasure to carry. Both slide and frame are finished in KimPro II®, a premium finish that is selflubricating plus extremely resistant to the elements and moisture (see page 62). Aegis pistols feature a ramped match grade barrel, bobbed hammer, solid match grade trigger, bumped grip safety with memory grooves and wide cocking serrations. Custom Shop additions like flat top slide, Tactical Wedge™ 3-dot (green) night sights and thin rosewood grips with ball-milled flutes boost performance while giving each pistol a dynamic appearance. A frontstrap with 30 lines-per inch checkering and a high relief cut under the trigger guard ensures a proper and positive grip even with wet hands or gloves. “...dependability, accuracy and smooth trigger pull are not compromised for reduced recoil.” Probably the most important Custom Shop feature found on every Aegis pistol is the carry melt treatment. All sharp edges are rounded and blended by hand to ensure these pistols do not hang up or cut into clothing or holsters. length grip is preferred by many shooters for recoil control, and magazine capacity remains 9 rounds. With all the features of the Custom Aegis II, it is an ideal choice for an all-around carry and personal protection pistol. Weight is just 28 ounces. The Custom Aegis II 9mm is a full-size 1911 in many respects, but thin rosewood grips, lightweight aluminum frame and bobbed controls make it small-hands friendly. Magazine capacity is 9 rounds, and loaded with proper ammunition this pistol is ideal for personal protection. With a Kimber Aegis, dependability, accuracy and smooth trigger pull are not compromised for reduced recoil. The Ultra Aegis II designed specifically for concealed carry, either alone or as a law enforcement backup. Weighing just 25 ounces, the 3-inch bull barrel and shortened grip allow all-day-every-day carry in holster, briefcase or purse. Magazine capacity remains 8 rounds. The Ultra Aegis retains all the Custom Shop features of the larger models, and in almost all cases is a better choice for personal protection than any of the popular non-1911 pistols available today. The Pro Aegis II goes a step further, as the shorter 4-inch bushingless bull barrel aids in concealed carry and reduces weight. The full- Aegis pistols have thin grips, 30 LPI checkered frontstrap and a high cut under the trigger guard. Even small hands get a positive grip. The Ultra Aegis II 9mm is among the smallest 1911s ever made, and offers many real-world advantages over non-1911 pistols. The Pro Aegis II with a 4-inch barrel combines Custom Shop performance and concealed carry features with light 9mm recoil. The Custom Aegis II is a full-size 1911 with premium features like KimPro II finish, night sights and 30 LPI frontstrap checkering. Aegis II Features: Bobbed hammer and thumb safety with reduced profile combine with other features to make Aegis pistols easy to carry and conceal. The Ultra Aegis II 9mm is a highly refined Custom Shop pistol with unique features that make it ideal for both small hands and backup carry. Aegis II Model Ultra Aegis II™ Pro Aegis II™ Custom Aegis II™ Caliber 9mm 9mm 9mm • 7075-T7 aluminum frames have been tested to over 20,000 rounds without meaningful wear. • Aegis pistols feature a carry melt treatment for rounded and blended edges that will not cut or snag. • Tactical Wedge™ three dot (green) night sights are dovetail-mounted to ensure integrity. • Ramped match grade barrels are machined from solid steel. • A complete listing of specifications and features begins on page 54. CDP II CDP II 29 The Kimber Custom Defense Package. A handgun used for personal protection is not a good place to compromise quality. If needed, it must perform with flawless precision. Until that time, it must be easy to carry and inspire confidence during practice. There can be no justification for anything less than the best. Made entirely in the Custom Shop, CDP pistols combine Kimber’s most popular concealed carry features into the package that gave them their name. Adding these features during the manufacturing process reduces their retail cost by over $500, giving CDP pistols their incredible value. CDP pistols are easy to carry because their 7075-T7 aluminum frames are lightweight, up to seven ounces less than steel frames but every bit as strong and dependable. Slides are machined from solid stainless steel and given a satin finish that will not reflect light. Possibly the best feature is the carry bevel treatment. All edges of the pistol are rounded and blended by hand, leaving no sharp corners to catch clothing or dig into a holster. All CDP barrels and chambers are match grade for accuracy. Breech faces are polished and ejection ports are lowered and flared for reliable function. Magazine wells are beveled and magazine release buttons extended for fast reloading. Low profile three dot (green) night sights are quick to target even in dim light. Positive 30 lines-per-inch checkering on the frontstrap and trigger guard belly lock the pistol in your hand. Extended ambidextrous thumb safety, checkered flat mainspring housing and match grade Premium Aluminum Trigger are all included. CDP pistols are available in three barrel lengths, and with either a compact or full-size frame. They look good too, the matte black frame complimenting the satin silver of the slide. Hand-checkered double diamond rosewood grips and satin silver small parts add the finishing touch. The 1911 .45 ACP has proven itself over several generations as being the best choice for serious carry and defense. Its reliability, accuracy and authority are legendary. Hands down, Kimber makes the best 1911 pistols available today, so choosing a Kimber CDP is easy. Choosing which CDP to carry is another story. "…the best choice for serious carry and defense." The Ultra CDP II weighs just 25 ounces. Many consider this pistol to be the finest concealed carry 1911 ever manufactured. CDP pistols have 30 lines-per-inch checkering on frontstrap and under the trigger guard for a firm grip. Ambidextrous thumb safety is standard. The Compact CDP II .45 ACP has the same short grip as the Ultra, but a longer 4-inch bull barrel reduces recoil and muzzle lift. The Pro CDP II has a full-length grip and 4-inch bull barrel. It is ideal for either duty carry or personal defense. The Custom CDP II is a full-size, lightweight .45 ACP defense pistol with standard features unequaled by any other brand. CDP II Features: CDP pistols have a carry bevel treatment that rounds and blends edges to avoid snagging on clothing or holsters. The Ultra CDP II .45 ACP is built entirely in the Kimber Custom Shop. Like all CDP pistols, it is loaded with features that enhance concealed carry. Even then, Kimber pistols cost substantially less and are almost always immediately available. The Grand Raptor II is also a full-size pistol, and the polished flats of its stainless steel frame and matte slide make it stand out. All Raptor pistols have an extended ambidextrous thumb safety, bumped beavertail grip safety and night sights. Raptor pistols have flat top slides with a back-cut row of scales, along with scaled serrations in the gripping areas. Scaled frontstraps and logo grip panels continue the theme (pat. pending) but each Raptor has unique features that set it apart from the others. The Ultra Raptor II™ is an all-matte black carry pistol with a 3-inch ramped bushingless bull barrel and lightweight aluminum frame. The Pro Raptor II is also matte black, but has a 4-inch barrel and full-length steel frame. The Raptor II and Stainless Raptor II have 5-inch barrels, polished flats and matte curves. A new 5-inch bushingless deep-crowned match grade bull barrel, 24 LPI frontstrap checkering and herringbone micarta grips are also standard. Other premium features have been retained. Shooting a rimfire is fun. Anyone can do it, regardless of experience. Recoil is not an issue and a handful of ammo costs about as much as the can of soda that makes a perfect target. Rimfire practice is the best way to teach trigger control, sight picture, technique and firearm safety. Chambered in .22 LR, Kimber Rimfire Target pistols have the same features and unequaled performance found in a Kimber centerfire 1911. Adjustable sight, bumped beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety and extended magazine release button are all standard. At the same time, both slide and frame are machined from aluminum so Rimfire Target pistols are exceptionally light – ideal for young shooters. Two finishes are available – matte black or satin silver. The Rimfire Super .22 LR is made in the Kimber Custom Shop. In addition to the striking two-tone finish and rosewood grips with the Kimber logo and classic double diamond checkering, each pistol has a serrated flat top slide with bold flutes, adjustable sight, Premium Aluminum Trigger and 30 lines-per-inch checkering on the frontstrap and under the trigger guard. Each Rimfire Super is guaranteed to have fired a five shot, 25-yard group measuring 1.5-inches or less, and the actual test target is packed with every pistol. Kimber Rimfire Target Conversion Kits work with all Kimber .45 ACP pistols that have either 4-inch or 5-inch barrels and single stack magazines. They also work with Kimber .45 ACP Compact models, but the magazine protrudes below the grip. Installation is easy, does not require tools and takes about one minute. Kimber Rimfire Target Conversion Kits also fit many different brands and models of 1911 pistols, provided they are “mil-spec”, use single stack magazines and do not have a ramped barrel. (Call Kimber at [800] 880-2418 for fit information.) Conversion kits can even be purchased directly from the Kimber Custom Shop as they are not classified as a firearm. "…the same features and unequaled performance found in a Kimber centerfire 1911." Kimber rimfire 1911 pistols are great for training and affordable practice. Operation and function is virtually the same as a centerfire. The Rimfire Target (black) is available in .22 LR. A 10-round magazine is standard. The Rimfire Target (silver) has the same features as the matte black model, including adjustable sight. The Rimfire Super from the Kimber Custom Shop comes with accuracy guarantee. Chambered in .22 LR, Rimfire Target Conversion Kits are available in both black and silver. KPD KPD indicator button integrated into the top of the slide. If a round is chambered, the button protrudes enough to see at a glance, and in low light it is easy to feel with a fingertip – even through a glove. An integral firing pin block safety also prevents accidental discharge should the pistol be dropped or receive a hard blow. Battlefield tough. Duty featured. Powerful, safe and made in America. The Kimber Pro Defense – the KPD. The KPD is double action only with the advantage of restrike capability. Features include loaded chamber indicator and magazine safety disconnector. Other important features integrated into every KPD include an ambidextrous magazine release button, allowing the pistol to be used efficiently by either right or left-handed shooters. Frame texture is also designed to enhance both performance and control. Gripping surfaces have heavy texture while other areas incorporate a lighter pattern which does not reflect light. The first model offered in the KPD series features a stainless steel slide with a non-reflective satin finish. Shortly, a KPD model with the same stainless steel slide in a matte black finish will be available. Additional model introductions in 9mm are also planned. Each KPD comes with two 12-round .40 magazines, cable lock and ships in a lockable padded plastic case. Where required by law, 10-round magazines will be substituted. KPD details continue on the following page. The ergonomic shape of the KPD frame combines with interchangeable backstraps for a custom fit to any size hand – and allows tremendous control under recoil and rapid fire. The KPD comes with two 12-round .40 magazines. M a g a z i n e we l l s a re beveled for fast reloading. A 9mm version will be available soon. Tough enough for a tough world. The Kimber Pro Defense – or KPD™ - is a .40 caliber pistol designed to meet the requirements of law enforcement and military professionals. Nothing more or less. All business. Dependable. Simple and safe to operate in a wide variety of situations and under stress. A modern pistol in every respect, the KPD is light enough for all-day-every-day carry and easy to maintain in the field. The platform is ideal for efficient training of both inexperienced shooters and those who transition from other systems. One of the most striking differences between the KPD and other modern duty pistols is fit. The trim frame width of just 1.08 inches combines with three different sizes of textured backstraps (included) that quickly interchange and custom fit the KPD to almost any size hand. Equally important, quick interchangeability permits the KPD to be used by many different shooters for training or duty. The KPD frame is also designed to position the bladed trigger finger on the frame above the trigger rather than bridging the trigger guard itself, an additional safety precaution. The DAO (double action only) KPD trigger has a smooth, consistent pull weight of 6.5 pounds through the full travel path. The quality of the KPD trigger pull permits accurate shooting while the length of travel reduces the chances of accidental discharge during periods of high stress. The trigger guard is enlarged for unobstructed operation with gloved hands. The KPD trigger system also offers the critical advantage of restriking a chambered round that does not fire on the first attempt. The KPD has a magazine disconnect safety that prevents the pistol from firing unless a magazine is inserted. Confident carry and safety is also enhanced by a prominent loaded chamber DAO (double action only) trigger has a smooth, consistent pull weight of 6.5 pounds through the full travel path. Restrike capability gives an important option should a round fail to fire. 35 Dovetail-mounted white dot metal sights handle duty carry. Night sights are optional. Loaded chamber indicator is centered on rib. Slides are machined from solid stainless steel. Front and rear slide serrations are beveled, and all edges are rounded and blended to prevent snagging on holster, gear or clothing. KPD KPD 37 Proof that excellence is a fluid concept. KPD barrels are 4.1 inches long and machined from solid steel. They are also ramped to ensure flawless feeding while at the same time providing the added security and safety of a fully supported chamber. Frames are a combination of reinforced black polymer permanently molded around an integral frame. The swept grip angle also naturally encourages a high grip position, placing the strong hand in close alignment with the axis of the bore for increased control and reduced muzzle lift, permitting fast followup shots and reducing felt recoil. One of the most important features of the KPD pistol is an integral Picatinny accessory rail that permits quick and secure attachment of critical accessories such as a tactical flashlight or laser aiming device. With standard dimensions, this rail fits almost all popular accessory items. Corners and edges of the rail are also blended so they do not snag or cut. Light weight combines with a thin profile and rounded edges to make the KPD easy to carry over for long periods of time. Weighing just 25 ounces with an empty magazine, the KPD is one of the lightest .40 Caliber pistols available today. Hard edges like slide serrations and corners are blended and will not cut, snag or wear through gear. Polymer holsters that fit the KPD are already available from Fobus®, and other holster manufacturers will soon follow suit. Little things are often the best measure of quality. KPD sights are metal – not plastic - and securely mounted in dovetails machined into the slide rather than being snapped or glued in position. Bold 3-dot (white) sights are standard, and Meprolight® three dot (green) night sights are available as an accessory (see page 59). Slides also have raised flat tops. Field stripping the KPD is simple and fast. No tools are required. shipped in a lockable high impact storage case and with a Californiaapproved cable lock for additional security during storage. Finally, the KPD is made entirely in America by Kimber, the world leader in semi-automatic pistol quality. As with 1911s, Kimber has again redefined what excellence means in a production pistol, this time in a modern design that is surprisingly affordable and ready for the toughest duty. Where required by law, two 10-round magazines are substituted for the two standard 12-round magazines. All magazines have numbered holes for counting rounds at a glance. Each pistol is “…Kimber has again redefined what excellence means in a production pistol – this time in a modern design that is surprisingly affordable...” The KPD model with a satin stainless steel slide will be available first. The KPD with a matte black finish (above) will soon follow. Three interchangeable backstraps that custom fit the KPD to any hand are included with each pistol. KPD Features: KPD pistols weigh just 25 ounces with an empty magazine, ideal for duty or concealed carry. Picatinny accessory rail for flashlight mounting is standard. Enlarged trigger guard allows full operation with gloved hands. KPD Model KPD™ NEW Caliber .40 • DAO (double action only) trigger pull is consistent at 6.5 pounds through full length of travel. • Each pistol includes two 12-round magazines. Rifles 39 Beyond the mechanics of dependability and accuracy, a fine rifle takes on a sort of personality or life – some say a soul. That only happens when a company that understands and appreciates rifles shapes every part. A real brand is more than a logo pressed into steel or something at the top of a purchase order faxed half way around the world. Only riflemen can make proper rifles, and most of the good ones are here in America. Kimber is the best of the bunch. Any other brand is just something less. A classic rifle is an almost indescribable blend of form, fit and function wrapped around the twin realities of dependability and accuracy. It is worthy of game. Once carried, you will never settle for less. Kimber makes classic rifles. Kimber rifles are lightweight but heavy on performance. The Model 84M Montana .308 Win. weighs just 5 pounds, 2 ounces. The Kimber Model 84M™ is the lightest production hunting rifle available today. Even more impressive, performance is not compromised to reduce weight. Everything about them is based on an action designed for the .308 Win. cartridge family, but barrels are still full-length and classic stocks are sleek and full-size. Chambered in calibers from .223 Rem. to .308 Win., models suited for everything from walking varminting to mountain hunting are available. Information begins on page 40. In addition to WSM cartridges and the two new Ruger RCMs, the Model 8400™ family chambers America’s most popular standards and magnums like .270 Win., .30-06 Spfd., .300 Win. Mag. and .338 Win. Mag. in a new version with a longer action. Specialty rifles for African and Alaskan hunting are now available in .375 H&H and .458 Lott (page 50), as are new tactical rifles in .223 Rem., .308 Win. and .300 Win Mag. (page 51). Head-to-toe classics, Model 8400 rifles cover the range from stainless steel in lightweight Kevlar-reinforced fiberglass stocks to traditional polished blue steel mated with stunning AAA-grade claro walnut. With all the standard Kimber features plus the new calibers, a Model 8400 is the right rifle for any hunt. Information begins on page 44. Montana models are the finest lightweight, hard core hunting rifles available today. Kimber barrels are just that, made entirely in the Kimber factory. All barrels and chambers are machined to exacting match grade dimensions. America’s finest rifles. Few things mean more to a hunter or shooter than a truly fine rifle, especially during the handful of days each year spent doing what really matters. That point isn’t lost on Kimber. No matter the caliber, Kimber rifles are designed, engineered and manufactured to make every shot count. They are built to last a lifetime and then to be passed on to a son or daughter so they can make their own memories. From the beginning, Kimber was determined to build production rifles better than any other company and knew this could only happen if everything was done inside. A tremendous investment in a state-of-the-art computer driven manufacturing facility made it reality. Today, barrels are profiled and broached around the corner from where stocks are shaped and inletted. Assembly is completed just steps from the shooting tunnels where each rifle is tested. The only thing coming in through the gate is raw material, because there is no other way to ensure quality. Several generations ago, a gun writer penned a great truth. Only accurate rifles are interesting, he wrote, and no one has since offered strong argument. Kimber adopted this as a guiding philosophy, making each rifle accurate first and foremost – ready for the shot of a lifetime. On accuracy, there can be no compromise. After all, if a rifle is not accurate, it serves little purpose. Full-length one-piece Mauser claw extractors lock cartridges in position for flawless feeding and extraction under the toughest field conditions, unlike common push-feed or clip extractor designs. Actions are pillar bedded for strength and accuracy. Twin aluminum pillars are bonded into every stock and support the receiver under guard screw tension and recoil. Match grade triggers set at 3.5-4 pounds break sharp and clean. Kimber rifles have a positive, three-position wing safety. The rear position is on safe and locks the bolt, the middle is on safe but unlocks the bolt for loading and unloading, and the forward position permits firing. Model 84M Rifles 41 Kimber triggers are match grade, breaking crisp and clean right out of the box. They help make every shot count. While intentions for the Model 84M action centered on big game rifles, it made sense to build varmint rifles on it as well. After all, a lighter rifle is just as important to a varminter walking between stands or calling locations as it is to a big game hunter climbing mountains. While barrels for varmint calibers are generally longer and heavier, models like the Pro Varmint ™, Varmint ™ and and LongMaster ® Classic ™ in 204 Ruger, .223 Rem. or .22-250 Rem. weigh about the same as an average hunting rifle. For serious varmint shooters who like to stay in position until they wear out their welcome at a prairie dog town, Kimber has two heavyweight varminters with bull barrels – the LongMaster® VT™ (Varmint/Target) in .22-250 Rem. and the SVT™ (Short Varmint/Target) in .223 Rem. Model 84M rifles are available with a wide variety of classic stocks. All feature bedding on aluminum pillars and most are also glass bedded at the recoil lug. Everything from fine walnut to laminated wood to synthetic is offered. The latest additions are Classic Select Grade rifles in A-grade French walnut with ebony forend tip, as well as two models chambered for the great .257 Roberts cartridge and four for the new .338 Federal. Sometimes little details make a big difference. All models with wood and laminated stocks have sculpted steel bottom metal with floorplate release button inside the trigger bow. Scalloped two-piece base sets that complement the graceful dimensions of the receiver are available. Sold separately, they accept most standard rotary/dovetail rings. The complete selection of Model 84M rifles is detailed on the following pages. Maybe it is time to lose a couple of pounds. The Model 84M Pro Varmint is the definitive walking varminter. A pound or two at the gun counter doesn’t seem like much. On the mountain it’s another story. The Kimber Model 84M is the lightest production hunting rifle you can buy – and might just be the best. Others cut barrel length to save weight. That cuts performance. Kimber barrels measure up for every caliber. So much less than you expect. The Kimber Model 84M™ is a true milestone in rifle design, the first ultra lightweight production hunting rifle that retains classic features like a Mauser claw extractor and three-position wing safety. Kimber broke ground by creating an entirely new action around the .308 Win. family of cartridges, one with absolute minimal dimensions. On a scale the results are impressive. Montana models with premium Kevlar/carbon fiber synthetic stocks weigh just 5 pounds, 2 ounces in .308 Win. Classic models with fine walnut came in at 5 pounds, 10 ounces. The biggest payoff was at the range. Accuracy was exceptional, and proper stock design made them a pleasure to shoot. Comparing a Model 84M with any other brand of short action or lightweight production hunting rifle puts it all in perspective. Most are built around bulky full-size actions that have been shortened in the middle. Many cut weight the only other way they can – from the end of the barrel. Cutting a barrel short reduces velocity and usually takes a rifle out of balance. Model 84M barrels are always the proper length to maximize performance, and they have near perfect balance. The payoff comes in the field with flatter bullet trajectory and a rifle that goes quickly to target and holds steady, regardless of shooting position. Like all Kimber rifles, every Model 84M wears a barrel that is machined to match grade standards and then air gauged to prove consistency within .001 inch. Chambers are cut to exacting match grade dimensions, and every bit of this work is done inside the Kimber factory to ensure quality. Instead of just shortening a standard action and calling it good, Kimber designed the Model 84M action with minimal dimensions specifically for the .308 Win. cartridge family. Kimber saved weight without sacrificing performance. Model 84M rifles in big game calibers have both pillar bedding and glass bedding for strength and accuracy. Rifles with walnut and laminated stocks feature sculpted steel bottom metal and a floorplate release inside the trigger bow. Proper stock design and a premium recoil pad diminish felt recoil. Model 84M stocks have straight combs that slide back, not up into your cheek. Almost all rifles in big game calibers have Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pads. > 45 Model 84M Rifles Model 84M Rifles Kimber cut weight, not performance. Model 84M rifles are available in several different model configurations and calibers, each designed for a particular type of hunting or shooting. The Classic is just that, an under-6 pound classic hunting rifle in walnut and matte blue. Chambered from .22-250 Rem. through .338 Federal, it is easy to carry and shoot. Classic Select Grade™ rifles are available in even more calibers, and feature an A-grade French walnut stock with ebony forend tip and special floorplate markings. The Montana™ is a rifle for the serious hunter. Weighing just a hair over five pounds, it is a no-nonsense blend of satin stainless steel and Kevlar/carbon fiber. In .243 Win., .257 Roberts, .260 Rem., 7mm-08 Rem., .308 Win. and .338 Federal, no other rifle is its equal. The SuperAmerica™ is rivaled only by hand-made custom rifles. Chambered in calibers similar to the Classic, it is stocked in AAA-grade claro walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish, checkered by hand with a 24 LPI wrap-around pattern and highlighted with a steel grip cap, ebony forend tip and cheekpiece. All metal surfaces are polished to a high luster by hand. None are finer. The Varmint and LongMaster Classic™ are similar to the Classic, but feature longer, heavier fluted stainless steel barrels. A classic walking varminter or a refined long-range prairie rifle, they weigh less than eight pounds. Classic Classic Select Grade The Pro Varmint is a walking varminter with a classically profiled stock in tough gray and black laminate. The stainless steel heavy sporter barrel has blacked flutes that complement the rifle. ™ Both the LongMaster VT™ (Varmint/Target) and the SVT™ (Short Varmint/Target) have laminated high comb target stocks and fluted stainless steel straight taper bull barrels that are ideal for sustained firing. With its short 18.25-inch barrel, the SVT is extremely fast to target, ideal for coyote hunting. Complete specifications on all Model 84M rifles begin on page 56. LongMaster VT 43 Model 8400 Rifles Model 8400 Rifles Use enough gun – good advice no matter where you hunt. Down south or out west it might mean flat shooting. In Alaska or Africa it leans toward hard hitting. A Kimber 8400 does it all. The longer version of the Model 8400 action is chambered in .25-06 Rem., .270 Win., .30-06 Spfd., .300 Win. Mag. and .338 Win. Mag. For 2008, a long-range version called the Model 8400 Sonora™ is available in .25-06 Rem., .30-06 Spfd. and .300 Win. Mag. Details begin on page 48. For Africa and Alaska, premium rifles are now offered in both .375 H&H and .458 Lott. Details on the pair are on page 50. Kimber barrels are free-floated forward of the bedding area to avoid accuracy-robbing pressure. SuperAmerica models feature ebony forend tips. The Model 8400 action is designed to be as short, thin and light as possible. In this case, the WSM action was lengthened slightly to accommodate the longer cartridges and their bolt travel requirements. Full-length barrels – generally 24-inches for standard calibers and 26-inches for the belted magnums – ensure maximum velocity and are contoured as light sporters to reduce 45 weight. All stocks have a trim and classic profile. Standard features include both pillar and glass bedding, Mauser claw extractor, threeposition wing safety, match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, inside trigger bow magazine release button and 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator recoil pad. The Classic is available in five popular calibers, with traditional features like matte blue and a walnut stock. Montana versions with Kimber’s premium Kevlar/carbon fiber stock and stainless steel barreled action could well be the toughest all-weather production hunting rifle ever offered. Both magnums will also be offered in SuperAmerica versions – with custom rifle quality for a production rifle price. Complete information on Kimber Model 8400 rifles in these calibers begins on page 48. The 8400 SuperAmerica is now chambered in .300 & .338 Win. magnums, as well as WSMs. Kimber scalloped two-piece base sets blend perfectly with the receiver, complementing the sleek lines of each rifle. All finishes are offered. The long and short of it. American hunters like powerful cartridges almost as much as classic rifles. They always have. Some follow the latest cartridge trend for better or worse, spending more time hunting for the perfect rifle than they do hunting with one. Others keep an old favorite cleaned and well-oiled, confident. Possibly the brightest new cartridge idea of the last generation is the WSM family. It makes sense to have a more efficient cartridge in a shorter case, one that shoots with the velocity of a magnum. Hunters stood in line to buy them, even though gunmakers were chambering their too-big rifles for the new cases that most of their actions did not seem to feed. Kimber came at it with a different way, designing the Model 8400™ specifically for the WSM case. As with the Model 84M, every dimension of the Model 8400 was minimized to keep the rifle light, sleek and balanced. A full-featured classic, a Mauser claw extractor, three-position wing safety, trim stock and match grade barrel, chamber and trigger were standard fare. Kimber offers a full lineup of Model 8400 rifles chambered in all of the WSM calibers. They have full-length 24-inch light sporter barrels that wring out every bit of flat-shooting, hard-hitting potential. Walnut-stocked versions weight 6 pounds, 10 ounces. With their premium Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks, Montana models weight just 6 pounds, 3 ounces. Even though they are exceptionally light, properly shaped stocks with straight combs and 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator pads greatly diminish felt recoil. Complete information on Kimber Model 8400 rifles in WSM and the new RCM calibers begins on page 46. All Kimber rifles are handsomely finished in every respect, but the SuperAmerica stands above the rest with a traditional, deep hand-polished bluing like a custom from one of America’s finest makers. Every walnut stock on Kimber centerfire rifles wears a hand-rubbed oil finish that protects the wood while bringing out the richness of its grain. Most have steel pistol grip caps, and SuperAmerica models also feature an elegant cheekpiece. All Kimber centerfire rifles with walnut stocks feature hand-cut checkering in classic panel patterns of 20 lines-per-inch. SuperAmerica models are even more refined, with full wraparound patterns of 24 lines-per-inch. Weighing just 6 pounds, 10 ounces, these rifles are a pleasure to carry. Proper stock design and a 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator recoil pad make them an equal pleasure to shoot. Classic Select Grade™ rifles with an A-grade French walnut stock, ebony forend tip and specially marked floorplate are available in most WSM calibers. As with all other Kimber centerfire rifles stocked in walnut, Classic Select Grades are checkered and finished by hand. The Montana is absolutely the best hard core hunting rifle available today. No other brand comes close. A Model 8400 SuperAmerica is really a blend of features common to fine custom sporting rifles. The AAA-grade claro walnut stock has a deep, hand-rubbed oil finish, hand-cut wraparound checkering in an intricate 24 lines-per-inch pattern, a cheekpiece and a real ebony forend tip. Classic rifles for classic cartridges best describes the Kimber Model 8400, now that it is chambered in some of the most highly regarded hunting calibers of all time. The Classic model itself features a matte-finished match grade barrel in light sporter contour with 11-degree target crown. The A-grade walnut stock has an elegant hand-rubbed oil finish, sculpted steel grip cap, sling swivel studs and a black 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator recoil pad. The chamber is carefully machined to match grade dimensions, and the stock is both pillar bedded and glass bedded at the recoil lug for strength and accuracy. Standard caliber versions have 24-inch barrels, while magnum barrels are 26 inches long for maximum velocity. The trapdoor floorplate and bottom metal is blended with the lines of the stock and the floorplate release button is inside the trigger guard. A three-position wing safety and match grade trigger that breaks clean between 3.5 and 4 pounds are also standard. The Model 8400 Montana has the same overall dimensions and accuracy features as the Classic. At the same time, it is all business. The Kimber Kevlar/carbon fiber stock is incredibly light and strong, certainly the finest synthetic stock ever offered on a production rifle. It also reduces the overall weight of the rifle by about 8 ounces. The barreled action is stainless steel with a non-reflective satin finish. Carefully shaped and profiled with a straight comb, the Montana stock greatly reduces felt recoil. The SuperAmerica is Kimber’s finest rifle, and will initially be offered in .300 Win. Mag. and .338 Win. Mag. due to a limited supply of suitable AAA-grade claro walnut. Featured like a custom rifle, it has full wraparound 24 lines-per-inch checkering, cheekpiece and an ebony forend tip. Additionally, all metal surfaces are polished by hand to a high gloss. A Kimber SuperAmerica can only be compared to a full custom rifle by one of America’s best makers. New for 2008 is the Model 8400 Sonora™ in .25-06 Rem., 30-06 Spfd. and .300 Win. Mag. Specifically designed for hunters who value long-range accuracy above everything else, this all-business rifle features a laminated stock with a fluted stainless steel match grade barrel machined to heavy sporter contour. The barrel is free floated and the action is locked down with both pillar and glass bedding. An extra sling swivel stud is included up front for bipod mounting. The brown laminate stock is finished with a satin oil coating and fitted with a 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator pad. The extra weight of the stock and barrel, as well as the straight comb design, work together to reduce felt recoil and make the Sonora comfortable to shoot from a bench or prone. In hunting situations where portability is secondary, such as from blinds or stands, the performance of the Sonora is unequaled. Meprolight® M-21 reflex sights deliver a bright, dependable aiming point and do not require battery power. Each has zero magnification, is parallax-free and optimized with a 30mm lens for fast target acquisition. In daylight, fiber optic cables capture ambient light and project a bright amber aiming point on the lens. Brightness selfadjusts to prevailing light conditions. In low light the M-21 automatically transitions to Tritium power at the appropriate brightness. Meprolight reflex sights are battle-tested tough, and include quick attach/detach mounting systems that fit Picatinny rails. All come with a 10-year illumination warranty to the original purchaser. Meprolight® night sights have established a worldwide reputation for exceptional brightness and durability. Understandably, Meprolight supplies many firearm manufacturers with night sights for their production guns. Kimber, Glock, H&K, Kahr, Mossberg, Remington and Benelli all trust Meprolight sights because they are the best. Backed by the strongest warranty in the business and 20% brighter than other brands, Meprolight is the right sight in any light. Fixed night sight sets in a variety of colors are available for almost all popular pistol brands and models. Adjustable night sight sets are available for Kimber, Colt, Glock, H&K, Ruger and Sig Sauer pistols. Fixed night sights in contrasting colors are available for Glock, H&K, Sig Sauer and Springfield XD. AR-15 night sights for Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS and others ensure a positive aiming point in low light. The universal shotgun bead is indispensable for law enforcement, hunting or home defense shotguns. Night sight sets for Remington rifles make open sights viable even in low light conditions. LifeAct 61 Guardian Angel JPX Jet Protector Effective range 13 feet at 90 MPH. Effective range 21 feet at 270 MPH.* Standard features include Picatinny rail for mounting accessories or lights. Integral laser sight is optional. Conventional trigger is shielded by swing-away safety tab to protect against accidental discharge. • Instantly incapacitates an assailant. • Revolutionary non-aerosol propulsion. • Jet delivery stops cross-contamination. • Each magazine contains two powerful blasts. • Reloading is both easy and fast. • Instantly incapacitates an assailant. • Much more effective than sprays. • Revolutionary non-aerosol propulsion. • Jet delivery stops cross-contamination. • Delivers two powerful blasts of OC. The new LifeAct Guardian Angel is the most advanced non-lethal self defense tool available today. It renders pepper sprays obsolete and stops threats at a safe distance. Small, light and ergonomic, it carries easily in pocket or purse, and an integral clip also secures it to a belt. The outer body conforms to either a right or left-hand grip, and fits almost any size hand. The Guardian Angel contains two cylinders with powerful concentrations of pharmaceutical grade OC (oleoresin capsicum), a devastatingly effective inflammatory agent. Driven by pyrotechnic charges, the solution travels at 90 MPH with little chance of cross-contamination, and with enough energy to wrap around glasses or penetrate a face mask. Effect is immediate and lasts for up to 45 minutes. Unlike conventional sprays, the Guardian Angel does not lose pressure over time. ™ ® Inert orange Guardian Angel training unit with blue marker dye is also available. The new JPX™ Jet Protector® is the most functional and powerful hand-held OC delivery system available today. The conventional design speeds training and ensures accurate solution delivery, and a pyrotechnic drive launches pharmaceutical grade OC solution at 270 MPH. Effective range is almost 20 feet in the version with the SelfClean™ feature and over 21 feet with a standard cartridge. Each magazine contains two charges with a much larger payload than the Guardian Angel, and quickly snaps on the frame. The power of each payload combined with reloading makes the JPX extremely effective for crowd control. Pull weight of the conventional double action only trigger is approximately 6.6 pounds, and the trigger automatically resets to fire the other charge. The JPX is used worldwide, and was just adopted by the Japanese Nation Police Force. Orange or black frames are available, and an integral laser sight is optional. For additional carry options, a black cordura carry pouch is sold separately. KimPro Tac-Mags feature an exclusive quick-change floorplate that permits the immediate attachment of one of three included bases – a conventional stainless steel plate, slim bumper pad for carry or a thick bumper pad for competition or use with extended magazine wells. Built for exceptional performance, Tac-Mags are stainless steel and have a Teflon-coated stainless steel follower. Rocket Wire springs are 25% stronger than conventional springs, ensuring fast and positive round presentation. Large round count recognition holes read at a glance. A KimPro Tac-Mag makes any 1911 better.
