What is the Aquascape Apprentice Program?
The goal of this program is to expose new water feature contractors to Aquascape's
training and education programs as well as marketing materials. The program gives
you access to experienced Certified Aquascape Contractor (CAC) mentors that can
help to get your business off on the right foot by teaching you how to succeed at
building and selling water features through discussions surrounding the CAC's own
business experiences.
What are the Benefits of Becoming an Apprentice?
By becoming an Aquascape Apprentice, you will be part of the largest, most
experienced network of pond builders in North America. You will also have access
to the Apprentice Message Board where you can ask questions and get answers

Pond Filtration is one of the most important components in maintaining a healthy and
balanced ecosystem. Quality filtration equipment is necessary to maintain optimum water

AN AQUASCAPE ECOSYSTEM POND IS A WATER GARDEN THAT FUNCTIONS TOGETHER WITH ITS

AGAINST HER. Ecosystem ponds can be easily understood if you have a good grasp of what components go into a basic, functioning ecosystem. An ecosystem
pond works with Mother Nature to provide food, shelter, and safety to the wildlife in and around it. It also provides an all-natural, low-maintenance piece of paradise.

CIRCULATION SYSTEM is really just a fancy way of saying “pumps and
plumbing.” An efficient circulation system keeps the water moving and
provides the necessary oxygen levels needed to keep healthy fish and plants.

they will also protect pond liners from UV light degradation and provide
tremendous surface area for Beneficial Bacteria to break down excess
nutrients in the water and dissolved organic debris on the pond floor.
FISH are an integral part of any ecosystem. Fish will actually reduce pond
maintenance, as they graze on string algae and bottom feed from the pond
bottom.

How does the IonGen™ work?
• The Aquascape IonGen™ releases a calculated mixture of ions into the path of flowing water.
• The automatic control panel sends signals that slowly dissolve the replaceable probe. This unique combination
of metal ions increases water quality, clarity and drastically reduces time consuming maintenance.

Best Efficiency Point Chart
From the smallest to the largest, the laws of hydraulics apply to all centrifugal pumps. The lowest operating costs and the longest pump and motor life will be obtained
if the pump is applied properly. Just as you wouldn’t buy an automobile according to the maximum speed listed on the speedometer, buying a pump according to
maximum GPH should also be avoided. It is important to understand that all pumps have an operating point where the best energy efficiency and the best life
expectancy will be achieved known as the BEP (Best Efficiency Point).
BEP (Best Efficiency Point) =The point on a pump performance chart at which the flow is the smoothest (low vibration) and is the performance point the pump was
designed to meet. See green bands in chart below.
How to use chart:
The chart below contains the information you need to select the pump that best fits your water feature application.
1. Determine the flow requirements you wish to achieve. We typically recommend between 1,000 – 3,000 GPH per foot of spillway width for residential waterfalls.
2. Determine the total head, in feet, for the project. This is a combination of vertical lift from the surface of the pond plus friction losses in the pipe (rule of
thumb: add 1 foot for every 10 feet of pipe length).
3. Choose the pump from the chart below or the following pump pages that meets your flow requirements and falls as close as possible within the best operating
range of the pump.
