Khyam tents are built to last, they are tested to meet and
exceed the stringent requirements of the MOD, including
testing in wind tunnels. Careful choices including fibreglass
or aircraft grade aluminium tubing ensure that you get strength
and durability but without unnecessary weight. Flysheets are
another concern alleviated. The Weatherweave TM material
used is tested to a minimum hydrostatic head of 2.5m.
In other words the material remains waterproof with
the equivalent of eight feet (2.5m) or more of water
sitting on it! Enough for the worst British weather and
most expedition needs.

RAPIDE
A smaller Flexi-dome could be pitched before you
finish reading this paragraph, even one of the larger
Ridgi-domes could be pitched before you finish
reading this page! So it is not difficult to imagine the
advantages this offers over pitching a conventional
tent on a dark, wet and very stormy night. But who
wants to bother locating the right pole for the right
sleeve and pushing it through miles of fabric on even
the finest day. Very few indeed once they have seen
Khyam Rapidex quick erect system in action.
I. Your Khyam Rldgl-domc comes in
a robust, generously sized carry bag.
2. Once removed from the carry bag,
hold the tent in a vertical manner
and gently lower poles outwards and
downwards forming a star shape
with the hub in the centre.
3. The main poles
open~te

lower joints are locked Into position
manually whilst the middle joint
locks automatlc.1lly when the upper
joint is locked.
4. W ith the main section of the tent
on its 'knees' the tri-guys can be
pegged prior to lifting the tent to
full height.

the tri·guys can be securely pegged.
6. The bedroom poles are simply
threaded through the sleeves on
each bedroom section and secured
into place using the shockcorded
elastic clips.
7. The upright support poles for each
bedroom section simply locate Into
the plastic feet on the end of the
main poles. The flysheet then clips
directly to the bedroom poles.
8. Once all bedroom poles are
in position the remaining pegs
and guyropes can be socured.
Inner tents simply clip into place
and are suspended via shockcorded

loops and hooks.

The Ridgi-pod concept is simple enough

knowledge that an unused ' pod' can
be unzipped, stowed and any of the three
multi-functional panels supplied inserted

Fitting everything for a family needs for a weekend

Roof boxes are a common solution but they have
severe weight restrictions and greatly reduce
fuel efficiency due to their extra drag.

by creating the Cargo Rack
and matching Cargo Bag.

VSS Variable Sleeping System
Khyam turned the camping world on its head with
