which helps locate the correct switch,
support the hand, and avoid pressing
wrong keys. A useful latching 'dragswitch' is also fitted. No additional
software is needed.
Three ability switch ports are fitted on
the back of the unit, allowing external
access to the buttons.
Roller Plus
This rugged mouse alternative is ideal
for users with severe motor-skill
difficulties. Traxys Roller and Joystick
devices were previously known as
Penny and Giles.
The large trackball has a latching 'dragswitch' and a double-click switch. In
addition the X-Y inhibit switch enables
the cursor to be moved horizontally or
vertically only. The 5 speed variable
cursor can adjust to suit user needs.
The Roller Plus Trackball comes

PLUS the following options:
•
Double-click key to simplify this
sometimes difficult action.

Speed control key allowing the
user to select the most appropriate
cursor speed.

9: Roller II & Roller Plus Joystick
The Roller II Joystick is an excellent
alternative to a mouse. It will seem
familiar to powered wheelchair users,
eliminating the need for the user to
learn a new control method. The Roller
Plus Joystick has some enhancements
to the Roller II.
Compared to a conventional mouse,
this joystick requires very little energy
to operate. Other mice or trackballs
require lots of pushing to move the
mouse around. The Roller II Joystick
just needs holding in the direction that
you want the cursor to travel - and the
computer does all the hard work.
The Roller II Joystick includes two
alternative stick grips which can be
easily fitted - a T-Bar and a soft orange
sized ball.
Features:

Drag lock button for easier mouse
use

The Roller Plus Joystick has all of the
above features, but cursor movement

against the rolling track ball. Certain
users find this easier, particularly those
with more severe motor impairments.
As with all of the “Roller” range these
units are PS2/USB compatible.
10: Helpjoy Mouse
This robust Joystick Mouse uses a
joystick interface to control the mouse
with four mouse click function buttons
situated on the unit: Left Click, Right

The Joystick Mouse is a considerable
help for those with motor skill
difficulties, poor dexterity, tremors or
Repetitive Strain Injury.
The compact device has four mouse
click function buttons: Left Click, Right
Click, Double Click and Drag Lock. All of
these buttons can also be controlled via
external ability switches or other input
sensors.
There is also a 9-pin connector allowing
the user to connect other input
switches/sensors to control the
directional movement of the mouse
pointer. The Joystick Mouse comes with
a USB connection and is Plug and Play.

11: Help Click Mouse
Helpiclick is a very small static mouse
that you can work with one finger.
The Helpiclick mouse works by rolling
your finger around a static button to
move the cursor and accessing left and
right clicks via buttons on either side of
the central mouse.
Similar in operation to the mouse
button found on some types of laptop
computer, choose the Helpiclick for
users who have limited arm or finger
movement, for example muscular
dystrophy, motor neurone disease, or
arthritis. There is no need to move the
mouse physically and no trackball to
roll around. An ideal solution for
wheelchair users who may find
reaching the desktop difficult.
The Helpiclick is also equipped with two
switch sockets facilitating alternative
access to the left and right clicks or
other mouse functions.
No additional software or drivers are
required.

Small size only 8 x 3 x 1 cms

12: Glidepoint Mouse
No mouse can do all this! Cirque Smart
Cat sets a higher standard of
performance and comfort with the new
generation of GlidePoint? technology.
That old mouse or trackball can't
compete with effortless control like
this... Intelligent software you can
personalize, one-touch scroll and zoom
in most applications, distinctive sounds
for each operation, and more make the
Cirque Smart Cat the most precise,
easy-to-use pointing device in its class.
Features:
Scroll
Horizontal and vertical scroll commands
are operable in most 97 applications
and many non-97 applications. Just
glide your finger along the right and
bottom edges of the touchpad to
activate up/down and sideways
scrolling. Scroll areas are labelled on
the touchpad surface; feature requires
installation of the Cirque driver.
Zoom
Magnification feature is operable in
most 97 applications. Glide your finger
along the left edge of the touchpad to
activate zoom in/out. Zoom area is not
labelled on the touchpad surface;
feature requires compatible applications
and installation of the Cirque driver.
Right Taps
Right "clicks" can be activated by
tapping your finger in the upper right
corner of the pad. The area is marked
on the pad surface with a change of
colour and texture, and is a Microsoft?
Plug-and-Play feature. Customizing the
feature requires installation of the
Cirque driver.
Glide Extend
Edge extenders are activated when
your finger reaches the pad's edge. The
area is marked on the pad surface with
a change of texture, and is a Plug-andPlay feature. Customizing Glide Extend
requires installation of the Cirque
driver.
Other Sounds and custom speed,
sensitivity, and orientation settings also
require installation of Cirque driver.
13: Smart Nav 3
This is the SmartNav 4,
we have an earlier
version in the centre.
The only truly hands-free cursor
control. Ideal for ergonomic relief and
prevention of Repetitive Strain Injury,
the SmartNav 4:EG makes using a
computer what it should be: useful and
convenient. Other devices such as
trackballs and touch pads might reduce
pain and permanent damage, but the
hands free Smart-Nav EG eliminates
the aggravating movements associated
with these conditions completely. The
Smart-Nav EG also works with popular
voice recognition programs and
external clicking switches.
True Ergonomic Relief The SmartNav 4:EG package ends wrist
strain, by eliminating the need for a
mouse. With the built-in switch input
it's the best solution available for
Tendonitis, Repetitive Strain Injury,
and other wrist strain related problems.
Use Your Head, Spare Your Hands The main cause of RSI and tendonitis is
the repeated stressful motion of
moving your hand from your keyboard
to your mouse - and especially the
action of crimping a mouse whilst
dragging it across the desk to create
cursor movement. SmartNav doesn't
require any hand motion for cursor
movement and thus offers you the
highest level of relief possible.
Natural Motion SmartNav was designed to complement
the natural head motion you already
perform when looking around. Moving
your head less than a quarter inch
easily manoeuvres the cursor across
your entire screen.
Switch Input You can plug a click switch or a
footswitch directly into the side of the
SmartNav. With the Y Breakout Cable
(included), you can plug in separate
switches for left and right clicking.
Exclusive Software Features Cursor Control and Clicking

Absolute Cursor Positioning Mode for
moving the cursor like a digitiser
instead of a relative mouse
•
Separate X and Y Scaling, for dual
screen monitors or users with
limited head movement in one
direction

unwanted head movements

the BigTrack switch access version has
sockets that can be used with Buddy
