CHRISTOPHER E. MANNING:
Everything, As Perfect as it Seems
Tuesday, September 6 – Sunday, November 27
Everything As Perfect As It Seems explores the inherent duality of the
exterior surface while exploring the inner self through painting, drawing,
collage, photography and sculpture. Each work presents a teetering balance
between memory and the forgotten, truths and lies, light and dark, and all
passages between life, death and rebirth. The cumulative narrative
represents a portrait of what shapes us, while embodying was forgotten or
superfluous to existence.
STUDENT SHOW
Monday, December 12 – Saturday, December 17
An end-of-term celebration of student talent and creativity, the Student
Show reflects both student accomplishments and faculty dedication.
ConTrastes
Saturday, October 1
8:00 pm
ConTrastes is more
than traditional dance,
colorful traditions and
regional costumes. The
performance loves and speaks of Spain; its
traditions and customs through the symbolic
elements of folk dance and live music through a
contemporary prism. ConTrastes is a feeling that
lives in the heart and spirit of this rich land.
Take a historical and cultural journey through the
islands, mountains and beautiful beaches of the
Mediterranean with live music, astounding
choreography and soulful singing.
Saturday, November 19
8:00 pm
Cocktail Hour reinvents the
glamour and excitement of
classic entertainment with
an original mix of charismatic choreography,
intoxicating music and exquisite costume design.
Shaken but not stirred, this pop-infused production
combines the magnetism of Hollywood's Golden
Age with a sleek 21st century sensibility, capturing
the timeless American spirit in a series of charming,
champagne-sparkling vignettes told through ballet.
It’s high-style fun for all ages to enjoy. “Witty and
fantastic.” (The New York Times)
This is a contemporary
New York City revisioning
of the Henry James novel
by the same name. It revolves around unwitting
seven-year-old Maisie, caught in a custody battle
between her mother, an aging rock star, and her
father, a major art dealer. (99 minutes)
WITH A FRIEND LIKE HARRY
October 14
France (2000)
Harry makes people antsy with his creepy smile,
too much disposable income, and a desire to
solve other people's problems. In this French
thriller, what seems like good intentions gone bad
forces an old schoolmate to fight off Harry’s evil
which is threatening his family. (117 minutes)
PHOENIX
October 21
USA (2014)
A disfigured
concentration camp
survivor, unrecognizable
after facial reconstruction
surgery, searches ravaged postwar Berlin for the
husband who might have betrayed her.
(98 minutes)
Singapore (2013)
Set in Singapore in 1997, the film chronicles the
Lim family and their newly arrived maid, who
searches for a better life. Her presence worsens
the family’s already strained relationship.
A unique bond is formed between the son and
maid while the Asian Financial Crisis is felt in the
region. (99 minutes).

THE SECOND CITY
The Best of The Second City
Israel (2014)
A Palestinian-Israeli boy named Eyad is selected
to attend a prestigious boarding school in
Jerusalem, where he struggles with language,
culture, and identity. He meets an Israeli young
man who has progressive muscular dystrophy.
He also encounters an intelligent and loving
Israeli girl, but the question is whether their
relationship has a future, because of cultural
and religious differences. (104 minutes)
