Self-priming centrifugal pump with excellent suction
capacity even when there are air bubbles and small
sandy impurities in the water.
Used especially for supplying water to domestic
systems. Ideal for use in small-scale agriculture and
gardening, limited industrial services and wherever selfpriming operation is necessary.
Constructional features
Cast iron pump body and motor support in cast iron
treated against corrosion also on the inner surface.
Technopolymer impeller, diffuser venturi tube and sand
tube. Stainless steel pressure disc. Carbon/ceramic
mechanical seal mounted on stainless steel rotor shaft
extension.
Motor
Asynchronous motor cooled with external fan. Rotor
mounted on greased sealed-for-life ball bearings,
selected to ensure silent running and a long life.
Built-in thermal and current overload protection and a
capacitor permanently in circuit in the single-phase
version.
The user is responsible for protection in the three-phase
version.

Tank
Horizontal type, capacity 19 litres, with butyl
diaphragm, complete with feet on the bottom and
brackets for fixing the pump on top.
Applications
The characteristics of the JPBasic-pumps are that they
are self-priming electric pumps which can operate even
when there is air, gas and small quantities of sand in the
water.
The set is composed of a diaphragm tank with capacity
19 litres, pressure switch for automatic operation, pressure gauge, JPBasic electric pump complete with power
cable and plug, kit for coupling the pump and the tank,
all assembled and ready for installation.
Note: Vertical 8 litres or 18 litres tanks are used in some
markets.

Applications
Automatic water lifting sets, particulary suitable for
domestic use, small installations for civil, industrial and
agricultural use, washing systems and hobbies.
These are characterised by the use of JPBasic PC selfpriming centrifugal pumps which can operate even
when there is air, gas and small quantities of sand in the
water.
They are indispensable for use in artesian wells and
whereever suction difficulties arise.
Operation
The pump is equipped with a Presscontrol (PC) which
controls, manages and commands it, regulating its operation, limiting the number of starts and guaranteeing
maximum pressure stability inside the hydraulic circuit
in which it is installed.
The automatic devices is the result of a series of studies
conducted to optimise the efficiency of the system while
preserving the structural features and sturdiness of
existent devices.
Automatic sets differ from the traditional systems
equipped with a pressure switch based on pump starting
and stopping as they avoid sudden variations and drops
in pressure. They are basically equipped with a double
control device, as built-in electrical circuit gathers the
data regarding pressure and water flow in the system
and processes them to allow the pump to operate under
optimum performance conditions.
The automatic device is supplied pre-installed on the
pump, requires no type of regulation and considerably
reduces overall dimensions by totally eliminating the
bulky tanks used traditional installations.

Optimised management of the hydraulic
installation and its components
1. Enables the system to operate only when there is water present; if, for any reason, no water reaches the
system, it blocks the pump, so that it does not operate while dry. In this case the ALARM LED lights up.
2. Maintains pump operation when the appliances are
opened by one or more users, in order to prevent sudden changes in pressure. When an appliance is
opened the depression created in the system acts on
the membrane which gradually releases a spring. The
sensors detect the movement, send a signal to the
electronic unit which enables pump start-up.
3. Automatically stops the pump when the users stop
drawing water. When the appliances are closed, under the effect of the rise in pressure within the hydraulic system, the membrane totally compresses the
spring. This new situation is analysed by the sensors
which send the unit a signal to stop the pump. The
stop is timed in order to prevent the pump from being subjected to repeated starts caused by users
opening and closing the appliances within a few seconds of each other. Furthermore, if boilers are supplied, the continuous delivery of hot water is
guaranteed by timing the stops.
4. Instant pump start when one of the appliances is
opened even with a minimum amount of water
drawn.
5. In the event of leaks in the system (drips or small
trickles) the device limits the number of cycles, prolonging pump running time by about 10 seconds.
6. It eliminates water hammering by means of a specific shock absorber which absorbs the effect.
7. Manual reset in the event of a breakdown in the hydraulic circuit or of overload protector intervention;
in this case, after eliminating the cause, press the
"RESET" button positioned on the terminal board
cover for a few seconds until the "ALARM" LED
switches off.
8. In the event of a power cut, automatic reset as soon
as the power is restored.
9. The system is self-protected against overheating.
When there is an excess in temperature inside the
motor windings, this operation is carried out automatically. It is also restored automatically once the
temperature has dropped below the level which
guarantees operation without damage to the system.

Constructional features of the automatic control
The automatic device which regulates the pump operation is basically formed of the following components:
FLOW SWITCH SET: this comprises a 4-way metal union
with two housings for the delivery and pressure sensors.
Both their seat and the sensor capsule are structured so
that no pre-calibration is required.
SPRING EXPANSION TANK: manufactured in pressed and
flanged stainless steel, this has been designed to ensure
maximum reliability and sturdiness with minimum
overall dimensions. Inside it houses a spring which operates as a pressure switch.
ELECTRONIC CARD: this is composed of a printed circuit
which receives signals from the sensors and manages
the automatic device as indicated in the paragraph
regarding operation. The commands plate with the two
LEDs, green = ON, red = Alarm and the Reset button for
resetting the pump is positioned on the terminal board
cover.
CHECK DEVICE: all automatic sets are equipped with a
check valve which has been selected to ensure
maximum long lasting reliability. In order to prevent
operational faults in the system it is essential that the
position of the valve is not changed during assembly.
The automatic control is supplied pre-assembled with all
the accessories.

sensors detect the movement, send a signal to the
electronic unit which enables pump start-up.

3. Automatically stops the pump when the users stop
drawing water. When the appliances are closed, under the effect of the rise in pressure within the hydraulic system, the membrane totally compresses the
spring. This new situation is analysed by the sensors
which send the unit a signal to stop the pump. The
stop is timed in order to prevent the pump from being subjected to repeated starts caused by users
opening and closing the appliances within a few seconds of each other. Furthermore, if boilers are supplied, the continuous delivery of hot water is
guaranteed by timing the stops.
Applications
Multistage horizontal centrifugal pump, featuring
extremely silent running suitable for domestic use for
water supply and pressurisation, irrigation of gardens
and vegetable gardens, and moving water in general.
Operation
The pump is equipped with a Presscontrol (PC) which
controls, manages and commands it, regulating its operation, limiting the number of starts and guaranteeing
maximum pressure stability inside the hydraulic circuit
in which it is installed.
The automatic devices is the result of a series of studies
conducted to optimise the efficiency of the system while
preserving the structural features and sturdiness of
existent devices.
Automatic sets differ from the traditional systems
equipped with a pressure switch based on pump starting
and stopping as they avoid sudden variations and drops
in pressure. They are basically equipped with a double
control device, as built-in electrical circuit gathers the
data regarding pressure and water flow in the system
and processes them to allow the pump to operate under
optimum performance conditions.
The automatic device is supplied pre-installed on the
pump, requires no type of regulation and considerably
reduces overall dimensions by totally eliminating the
bulky tanks used traditional installations.
Optimised management of the hydraulic
installation and its components
1. Enables the system to operate only when there is water present; if, for any reason, no water reaches the
system, it blocks the pump, so that it does not operate while dry. In this case the ALARM LED lights up.
2. Maintains pump operation when the appliances are
opened by one or more users, in order to prevent sudden changes in pressure. When an appliance is
opened the depression created in the system acts on

4. Instant pump start when one of the appliances is
opened even with a minimum amount of water
drawn.
5. In the event of leaks in the system (drips or small
trickles) the device limits the number of cycles, prolonging pump running time by about 10 seconds.
6. It eliminates water hammering by means of a specific shock absorber which absorbs the effect.
7. Manual reset in the event of a breakdown in the hydraulic circuit or of overload protector intervention;
in this case, after eliminating the cause, press the
"RESET" button positioned on the terminal board
cover for a few seconds until the "ALARM" LED
switches off.
8. In the event of a power cut, automatic reset as soon
as the power is restored.
9. The system is self-protected against overheating.
When there is an excess in temperature inside the
motor windings, this operation is carried out automatically. It is also restored automatically once the
temperature has dropped below the level which
guarantees operation without damage to the system.

Mechanical seal in carbon/ceramic. Rotor shaft in AISI
304 steel. Rotors, diffuser bodies and diffusers in technopolymer. Adjustment rings in stainless steel.

Applications
The submersible pump from the KPBasic series is
designed mainly for automatically operated fixed applications in domestic use, draining basements and
garages which are subject to flooding.
Descriptions and materials
Thanks to its compact, easy to handle design, it can also
be used as a portable pump for emergencies such as
lifting water from tanks or rivers, emptying swimming
pools, fountains, excavations and underpasses.
It is also ideal for gardening and hobbies in general.
The level switch allows fixed installation and guarantees
automatic pump operation.
