Mosaic Art Tiles - Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement
Fo Un Ar ot d t er Mosaic Art Tiles Downtown Vancouver City Sidewalks The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association’s public art project beautifies downtown streets with 18 original tile mosaics, each measuring nine square feet and permanently installed in city sidewalks throughout the DVBIA’s 90-block area. The mosaics celebrate the diversity of Vancouver’s culture, sports, architecture, natural beauty and personalities. Accomplished local mosaic artists Liz Calvin and Bruce Walther designed, produced and installed all the tiles. To enjoy Art Under Foot, consider following the route noted on the map. The complete tour will take 1½ - 2 hours depending on your pace – and how often you stop for coffee or to take in other sights along the way. A hint when determining direction: the mountains are always north. The mosaic art tiles are free for viewing every day, rain or shine. 12 A 11 13 1 14 18 9 17 7 6 16 8 2 15 4 B 3 B A 10 5 1 Bird’s Eye View 10 Rings of Life SE corner of Seymour and Cordova St. 2 Celebration NE corner of West Georgia and Jervis St. 11 Sea of Opportunity NW corner of Dunsmuir and Hamilton along the Silk Road Route 3 Walk of Champions NW corner of Dunsmuir and Burrard St. 12 Signs of the Times SW corner of West Hastings and Burrard St. SW corner of Robson and Hamilton St. 4 Claim to Fame 13 Points of View SE corner of Burrard and West Pender St. NW corner of Smithe and Seymour St. 5 Fireworks Over English Bay NE corner Burrard St. and Pacific Ave. 6 Transported Through Time SE corner of Burrard and Smithe St. 7 On the Scene 14 Art-I-Tecture North side West Georgia near Hornby St. 15 Our Land, Our Roots North side West Georgia and Homer St. 16 Enterprising Beginnings SW corner of Seymour and West Georgia St. SE corner of Burrard and Robson St. 8 Neon Lights 17 Spanning Time SW corner of West Georgia and Howe St. SE corner of Robson and Howe St. 9 Sounds Around Town 18 The Swing of Things South side of West Georgia near Burrard St. NE corner Robson and Burrard St. 12 6 8 For a more complete listing, description of each mosaic art tile, and information about the project, visit: www.downtownvancouver.net
