POP UP BOX CARD
MATERIALS AND TOOLS
Hougie board and score tool
A4 card length x 17cm wide (keep strip you cut off)
Jewellery wire or strips of acetate - you choose
Cocktail stick
Pin flair glue gel
Embellishments
Backing papers - optional
6" X 6" Envelope
Note: Diagrams not to scale
Step 1
Place your card on the cm side of Hougie with
the long edge up against the top butt edge.
Score down at 7, 14, 21, and 28 cm.
Step 2
Place your card with the short side up against the top butt edge.
Score down at 7 cm.

Step 3
Cut up each 7cm square line to the score line
and the tab as in the picture.

Step 4 - optional
Add backing papers as in the diagrams below.
TOP TIP. Place
backing paper on inside of box after you have assembled it. .
It will cover up the tab.

Step 5
Place strong adhesive on tab and assemble box.
Step 6
From the remaining strip cut 2 pieces 11cm long.
Score at 2cm and 9cm.
Step 7
Stick both pieces inside the box as in the picture.
POP UP BOX CARD
Step 8a - optional
Take your wire and wrap it around the cocktail stick
a few times to create a spring. Make sure that you
leave about 2cm at each end.
NOTE: Make your springs different lengths to create different heights for your embellishments.
Step 8b
Secure your wire to the back of your embellishment.
Step 9a - optional
Cut your acetate into 1cm wide strips and attach the back of your embellishment to it.
I used a brad through the flower to secure it to he acetate.
Using pin flair glue gel secure your
embellishments to the strips inside
the box. Make sure that they don't
bend when you flatten the box to
go in your envelope.
This card will fit in a 6" x 6" envelope.
