E S TAT E CHECK IT OUT No matter where you live at Waterhaven, a short walk will have you arriving at Skeleton Creek. With established walking/cycling trails alongside the waterway, it’s the perfect place to enjoy some exercise while taking in the natural environment. The trail links up with others, eventually leading all the way to the bay. n e v a h r e t a W At a glance BLOCK SIZES H A L L M A RC PRICE RANGE LOCATION WORDS ELISA VIRGONA PHOTOGRAPHY CHRIS GROENHOUT OPEN PHONE COUNCIL L iving at the recently released Islands precinct at Waterhaven estate equals a short walk to all the natural beauty on offer at the Point Cook development. Dividing the well-established estate in two is a picturesque waterway and on the north side, opposite the now-selling stage 10 and 11 lots, will be a parkland haven. Expected to open mid-2015, the 1.3ha area will include: a playground with equipment for children of all ages, grassed open space to kick a ball or have a game of cricket, a circuit around the park for walkers and joggers, seating areas, a picnic shelter and an observation deck looking to the waterways, which are man-made wetlands that lead to a creek. For all residents, a short stroll from home takes them to Skeleton Creek and the surrounding parkland. The developer of Waterhaven is Hallmarc and the company’s director, Michael Loccisano, says the creek outlook has inspired the estate’s design, including the addition of an architecturally designed bridge, extending more than 200m, connecting the south and north sides of the estate over the waterways. “We’ve created an estate that focuses the outlook on expansive wetlands and the natural creek formation that runs through the estate,” Michael says. “It’s created this wonderful outlook of vast open space and wetlands ... it’s always looking lush and green with birdlife there. It’s a real sanctuary.” Plus, Michael says, Waterhaven offers the luxury of larger-than-average block sizes, easy access to transport links (direct freeway access, and an easy walk to Williams Landing station) and the convenience of Point Cook Town Centre (Coles, Target, Aldi and specialty stores) just 900m away. Also recently launched is Waterhaven’s Promenade townhouses precinct, with several now open for inspection. So far, more than 400 lots of a total 700 are sold. ■ 24 home January 10, 2015 Title: HM_10_01_2015_ED_ 5/1/2015 15:17 Page No 24 From 350sqm to 1270sqm From $210,000 to $699,000 Waterhaven Blvd, Point Cook Sat-Wed, noon-5pm 9395 5488 Wyndham City Council waterhaven.net.au in the area: Fun things to do on the weekend Join in the Wyndham Australia Day festivities on January 26 with entertainment and music, face painting and carnival rides.
