® WHOLE S A LE FA L L / W I N T E R L O O K B O O K 2016 ® THOUGHTFUL. MINDFUL. AMERICAN MADE. THE DIFFERENCE IS ILLUMINATING. ® THE DIFFERENCE IS ILLUMINATING A passionate explorer and world traveler, Laura’s appreciation of nature’s bounty and handcrafts was shaped by generations of strong and nurturing women in her family. She gained invaluable experience working at Levi Strauss & Co., where she learned to appreciate the value of heritage as represented through quality, integrity and social consciousness, all of which today serve as essential principles in the Linnea’s Lights brand. “I learned the value of making things by hand around my grandmother’s kitchen table,” says Laura. “Handcrafted isn’t just a buzz word at Linnea’s Lights, it’s the core of what we do.” “Handcrafted isn’t just a buzz word at Linnea’s Lights, it’s the core of what we do.” LINNEASLIGHTS.COM Linnea’s Lights is a family-owned, luxury brand of fine home fragrances built upon a foundation of quality craftsmanship, eco-friendly materials, and an entrepreneurial spirit. W H AT A R E T H E B E N E F I TS O F “SMALL BATC H ”? Linnea {le-NAY-uh} is a small pink mountain flower named after the famous Swedish naturalist, Carl von Linné, who invented the classification of plants, animals and all living things. Linnea is a popular girls name in Sweden and is also the national flower of Sweden. Linnea is a name that is deeply rooted in our founders’ family heritage. We chose our name not only as a tribute to our ancestors and the strong women who came before us, but also as a way to pay homage to the beauty that exists in our natural surroundings. Each Linnea’s Lights® soy candle is hand crafted in small batches to produce a superior quality and highly fragrant product. By producing our candles in this artisanal way, we are able to maximize our scent/wax concentration to ensure the ultimate in cold and hot fragrance throw. Every step of creating a Linnea’s Lights® candle is touched by the human hand. From hand blending, pouring, wrapping, stamping, Linnea’s Lights® candles are created with passion and an unwavering commitment to quality and beauty. HOW DO I USE AND CARE FOR MY CANDLE? WHY THE DOUBLE WICK IN THE LARGE CANDLE? Candles are safe products, but unless they are used safely and watched carefully, they can lead to an accidental fire. Linnea’s Lights® takes candle care seriously and we urge consumers to be careful when burning candles. We recommend following the National Candle Association’s rules below for burning candles safely. Always keep a burning candle within sight. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Trim candlewicks to 1⁄4 inch each time before burning. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents. Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Never touch a burning candle or move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid. Never use a knife or sharp object to remove wax drippings from a glass holder. Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle. Never extinguish candles with water. Make sure a candle is completely extinguished and the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room. Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly or the flame becomes too high. W H AT A R E T H E B E N E F I T S O F S OY WA X ? There are many waxes available to create candles for enjoyment. At Linnea’s Lights®, we choose to handcraft candles using natural soy wax for several reasons. Our soy wax is 100% natural and biodegradable, making it safe and clean for the environment. Soy wax has a lower melting point which allows it to burn slower and cooler. Soy beans are a sustainable resource and are grown in the USA. D O Y O U U S E A L L N AT U R A L F R A G R A N C E ? Linnea’s Lights® natural soy candles are a combination of essential oils, all natural & cosmetic grade fine fragrances. All of our fragrances oils used in creating our blends comply with the International Fragrance Association’s safety and purity standards and all applicable international, federal, state and local regulations. Our signature double wick natural soy candles are known for a clean, clear burn with a highly fragrant scent throw and a gorgeous, liquefied state that mesmerizes. To ensure the beauty and integrity of our line and of the environment, we only use lead-free cotton wicks. In addition, our signature double wick ties back into our iconic brand of LL. When you see a double wicked soy candle with our iconic LL brand, you know you have an elegant, hand crafted candle that is sure to please and inspire. W H AT M AT E R I A L S A R E R E C Y C L E D A N D W H I C H A R E R E CYC L A B L E ? We use recycled paper, soy and water based inks in our packaging. While our glass vessel is not made from recycled glass, we strongly recommend recycling it after the candle has been completely enjoyed. Since soy wax is all natural, simply wash out the vessel with warm soap & water. Our vessels make exceptional barware, flower vases, and lovely storage jars for cotton balls, q-tips, pens, pencils and more! W H Y A R E N ’ T YO U R C A N D L E S C O LO R E D ? Simply put, we believe in enhancing one’s surroundings through elegant fragrance, not decorating it with colored candles. We use clear glass vessels to show the beauty and simplicity of our candles. D O Y O U G I V E T O C H A R I TA B L E D O N AT I O N S ? We feel strongly about giving back and sharing in a bigger way. We are proud to donate to charitable organizations both locally and nationally. H O W D O YO U G I V E BA C K TO YO U R C O M M U N I T Y ? We have a long term partnership with Janus Developmental Services in Noblesville, IN. Janus teaches life skills for individuals with disabilities. We have partnered with Janus since 2013. Their team provides all the wicking and cleaning of our vessels and at times throughout the year certain team members join us in our studio to learn artisanal candle making skills. We encourage our clients to learn more about Janus and the positive impact they make on the community. @ www.janus-inc.org ® CANDLE SAFETY & CARE Candles are safe products, but unless they are used safely and watched carefully, they can lead to an accidental fire.
