Did y ou kno w...
Light a Dream was established in the fall of 1999. The
project began as an extension to the Lester B. Pearson
School Board and John Abbott College Cooperative
Education Program for intellectually delayed young adults
between the ages of 18 and 21. In the fall of 2000, a
storefront location was found in the Pointe-Claire Village. Under the supervision of a group of staff
and parent volunteers, students are encouraged to
contribute to and be included in the business world. Light
a Dream is a non-profit registered charity. We encourage
you to come in and interactive with our special staff.

VOTIVES
Votives are our most popular product. Made with a
special wax blend that gives a fabulous scent throw, our
votive candles are a wonderful way to add light and
fragrance throughout a room. The typical votive will
burn for approximately 15 hours.
Arrange votives
around the room (in tight-fitting votive holders!) line
them up on the mantle, set them on top of a mirror
square so that the light ref lects back...there are so many
options with these compact candle gems!

Fruits, Aromatherapy, Food&Drinks and Seasonal.

TEALITES
These mini candles can be dyed and scented or left
untouched depending on their use. Each candle is prepared
using a plastic tealite cup for a more attractive finish. They
are available in packages of 4, 6 or boxed for special orders.

CANDLES
CONTAINER
New: So y Wax!
Soy wax is an all vegetable-based wax which contains roughly
85% soy-based material. It is non-toxic and burns cleanly with almost no
soot residue. It has a low melting point which makes for a quick even
burn and a potent fragrance throw. Generally speaking, soy wax has a
longer burn time than paraffin but shorter than beeswax.

PILLARS
A typical pillar is shaped in the form of a column or cylinder. Traditional
pillars are approximately 6 inches in height with a base between 2 - 3 inches in
diameter. Pillars have a slow even burn creating a tunnel effect and virtually no
drip. Of all the products we make, the pillar is by far the most diverse in terms
of color, height and diameter. Pillars can be produced to your specification.

CANDLES
Molded candles come in a variety
of shapes and we carry three
types: Solid, Ice and Chunk.
These candles are shaped with
special molds and burn under the
same principals as our pillars.
Candle Tip
Keep lit candles out of drafts, drafts
create large flames, shortening
the burning time.
Votive candles burn better in a
container. The tighter the fit the
longer the candle will burn.

BEESWAX
CANDLES
Beeswax is a sweet, simple renewable fuel that burns long and bright. It is nontoxic and hypo allergenic. Beeswax has the highest melting point of any other
candle wax and thus provides for a long, clean and dripless burn.
We carry two types of beeswax finish: flat, as the word implies and
honeycomb, a rigged honeycomb pattern imprinted on the wax.
At Light a Dream, all of our tapered beeswax candles are made from the finest
quality beeswax. Taper refers to the degree of point at the wick tip of the
candle and can be made to any specification, however the typical taper is 8.5”.
They are hand-rolled and can be found in a multitude shapes, sizes and the colors shown below.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO STORE CANDLES?
Candles should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place, and for tapers, in a flat position to prevent warping. When stored properly, candles can be enjoyed for years and play an important role in traditions.
