Evie`s 6^{th} Birthday Party
Evie’s 6th Birthday Party Event: Location: Date: Evie’s Birthday Party: Frozen Skating Party! YMCA Skating Rink May 17, 2015 1 The Event Evie decided that she wanted a skating party about a month before her birthday. We got her some new roller blades so she could practice, and by the time the party came around, she was fast on her skates. Obie and Gaga came in for the recital/birthday combo weekend. They went to the American Girl store when Gaga arrived to pick up some presents for Evie. We had the dance recital rehearsal Friday night, then the actual recital Saturday night, so we were all exhausted by the time Sunday rolled around. Before we went to the YMCA, Evie got to open some presents at home. She got some American Girl stuff, including a canopy bed for Caroline, her doll. She was super excited about all the American Girl stuff. We went to the YMCA, and set up the table. Evie had chosen a Frozen theme for the party, so we had Frozen balloons, Frozen decorations, and a Frozen cake. The cake was pretty spectacular, it was a tall, rosette cake with blue icing and Frozen figures on top! The party at the table next to us was a Frozen party too, its a popular thing. It turns out that Evie was the best skater at her party. This made her feel pretty proud of herself, and she skated a bunch. One kid, who is also on Evie’s T-ball team, fell and broke his arm. So, we are causing T-ball problems with our parties full of extreme and reckless sports. After cake, Evie opened her presents. This was fun, but Evie is a very meticulous opener. Maybe next year we can work on speeding that up. At the end of the party, Obie left to go to the airport and fly home. We packed up the presents and leftover cake and headed home. For the rest of the afternoon, Gaga played outside with the girls. The recital/birthday weekend wore us out. Sami and Evie slept in the next 3 days. We decided to postpone any activities for Mark’s birthday until we are all recovered. 2 Pictures Figure 1: Evie in front of her presents at home before the party. 3 Figure 2: Sami reads a birthday card to Evie. 4 Figure 3: Evie opening a present 5 Figure 4: One present was the next Caroline book.
