HUNTER OWNERS MANUAL
The Spot-Hogg Hunter sight is the most technologically advanced pin sight on the market. No other sight offers such complete microadjustability. Put one on your bow and it won’t take long to realize why it’s the #1 choice of serious hunters around the world.
STANDARD FEATURES
• Rugged 3.5” hard mount
• Four different mounting locations
• 2nd & 3rd axis micro-adjust
• Self locking horizontal & vertical gang micro-adjust
• Coarse horizontal & vertical gang adjustment
• Round pin guard with alignment ring
• Precision installed bubble & wire
• Individual horizontal & vertical micro-adjustable pins
• Built out of solid 6061 air-craft aluminum
PARTS LIST
1 – Pin guard with pins, fiber optics, and
Hogg Wrap (optional) already installed
1 – Bar, 2nd & 3rd axis, and micro-adjust
already assembled
2 – 10-24 X 5/8” mounting screws
STEP 1 – ASSEMBLING THE SIGHT
RIGHT HAND OR LEFT HAND: Completely remove the 2) 8-32 coarse horizontal & vertical screws from the sight mount & spacer.
Insert the pin guard between the four hole spacer and the four threaded
mounting holes. Insert the screws into the top & bottom holes of the spacer
and mount. Leave the two holes in the middle empty, and tighten. The bubble
needs to be at the bottom of the pin guard.
CENTERING, THE ADVANCED AIMING TECHINIQUE: All Spot-Hogg sights come
with a round pin guard and white alignment ring. We have found that centering your pin guard in your peep, is more accurate and easier to duplicate the
aiming process, than trying to center a single pin. When centering your pin
guard, you are centering one circle inside a slightly larger circle, making it
easier to tell when you are slightly off center. Centering your guard, will allow
you to use a larger peep than you might normally use, which is an added
benefit for hunters, in those low light situations. With our round pin guard,
you can have freestyle accuracy with a fixed pin sight.
STEP 2 – MOUNTING THE SIGHT TO THE BOW
This sight has four different sets of mounting holes. Insert the 10-24 X 5/8”
mounting screws into the desired holes and tighten to the bow. The two
threaded holes on the mounting bar are for a bow quiver. The mounting holes
you choose, affect you in multiple ways.
HOLDING STEADY: The closer the sight is to the bow, the steadier it will appear
on the target. The farther the sight is from the bow, the harder it will be to
hold steady on the target. It is recommended that when choosing the mounting location, use the holes that allow you to float the size of the spot at the
farthest distance you intend to shoot. This will allow you to achieve good shot execution rather than punching the release as it floats
by the spot.
PEEP ALIGNMENT: Peep alignment with the white sticker on the pin guard, will change depending on where the sight is mounted. It is
strongly recommended when choosing your mounting location that the peep & pin guard have a nice concentric match. So when looking through the peep, the outside diameter of the field of view, just catches the white alignment ring on the pin guard.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS OF ACHIEVING PEEP AND PIN GUARD ALIGNMENT.
• By changing peep size and moving the sights mounting location in and out, you should be able to get a good match between the peep
and pin guard.
• Mount the sight based on your floating pattern, then use a hand held chuck and a drill index #’s 1 thru 60, and incrementally drill out
the peep until you achieve a match. Always use a hand held drill chuck, never use an electric drill or it can bind up and potentially
cut your string.
PIN GAPS: The farther the sight is mounted from the bow the farther apart your pin gaps will be. The closer the sight is mounted to the
bow the tighter your pin gaps will be.
STEP 3 – SETTING THE 2nd & 3rd AXIS
2nd AXIS: The 2nd axis screws are located on the bottom of the sight. By backing out one screw and tightening the other, you can
move the entire pin guard and bubble clockwise or counter-clockwise. Hold the bow against a straight door jam, or a carpenter’s level
from top limb pocket to bottom limb pocket. Adjust the 2nd axis screws so the bubble on the sight reads level.
3rd AXIS: The 3rd axis screws are located on the side of the sight. By backing out one screw and tightening the other, you can
move the entire pin guard and bubble in a left or right arc. Hang a plumb bob (to make one: use a string with a heavy washer
attached to one end). Stand back from the plumb bob approximately 3-4 feet. Draw the bow back, look through the peep, center
the peep with the pin guard (SAME GRIP & AIMING PROCESS AS WHEN YOU SHOOT). Aim diagonally up or down at approximately
a 45% angle. Line the wire up with the plumb bob string, look at the bubble. If the bubble is not reading level, let down, make an
adjustment to the 3rd axis screws and repeat the process. Repeat the process until the bubble reads level when the wire is lined
up with the plumb bob string.
STEP 4 – GANG ADJUSTMENT
HORIZONTAL COARSE ADJUST: To move the whole pin guard left or right, loosen
and remove the 8-32 screws holding the pin guard to the micro-adjust. You can
position the pin guard on either side of the threaded holes on the micro adjust.
You can also use the provided spacer, as needed.
HORIZONTAL MICRO-ADJUST: Insert a 9/64 allen wrench into the head of the
horizontal micro-adjust screw. Turn the screw clockwise to move it left, turn
it counter-clockwise to move it right (Right hand shooters perspective). The
micro-adjust will automatically self-lock when movement stops.
VERTICAL COARSE ADJUST: To move the whole pin guard up or down, loosen
and remove the 8-32 screws holding the pin guard to the micro-adjust. Move
the pin guard up or down to the desired height, insert and tighten the screws.
VERTICAL PIN ADJUSTMENT: There are two 6-32 set screws designated to each pin, located at the back of the pin guard. By loosening
one screw and tightening the other, you can move the pin up or down. If you want to move the pin up, loosen the upper screw and
tighten the lower. If you want to move the pin down, loosen the lower screw and tighten the upper. Be sure you go back and snug the
screw you loosened first to ensure it will not come loose.
MAKING SMALL VERTICAL PIN ADJUSTMENTS EXAMPLE: Insert the allen wrench into the screw so the allen handle is dog legged to 12
o’clock. As you loosen the screw, the allen handle will jump to about 10 to 11 o’clock. Tighten it back to 11:30, then remove the allen
wrench. Insert it into the other screw and tighten the last ½ hour the rest of the way up. By using this method you can move the pin in
as small as ¼ of a fiber optic.
STEP 6 – SIGHTING IN
CHOOSE A METHOD: When starting out you will want to use one of the methods listed below to make sure you achieve the desired
settings based on your application. The individual horizontal pin adjustments are only used to keep the pin splitting the wire. Use the
gang horizontal micro-adjustment for all general left and right impact point adjustments.
Depending on which method you choose, will depend on how you use the gang vertical micro-adjust for sighting in.
There is a multitude of different methods for sighting in, listed below are the three most popular.
METHOD 1: Sight in the 20 yard pin, by moving the pin guard up, down, and side-to-side until the 20 yard pin is impacting spot on.
Then use the individual pin adjustments to sight in the other pins.
METHOD 2: Sight in the 40 yard pin, by moving the pin guard up, down, and side-to-side until the 40 yard pin is impacting spot on.
Then use the individual pin adjustments to sight in the other pins. Using this method the pins will have a more even spread across the
pin guard.
METHOD 3: Sight in the bubble as a 6th pin, by moving the pin guard up, down, and side-to-side until where the wire meets the bubble,
is impacting spot on for the distance desired (example: 70 yards). Then, use the individual pin adjustments to sight in the other pins.
Using this method, the pins will have a nice even spread and you will have an extra pin..
TROUBLESHOOTING:
PINS DON’T LINE UP WITH THE WIRE: The horizontal setting of the arrow rest is tied to the bubble of the sight on all Solo Cam & Single
Cam bows. If the horizontal setting is not set correctly, you will find that when sighted in the pins don’t line up with the wire. If from
top to bottom, the pins are running right to left, you need to move your arrow rest to the right. If from top to bottom, the pins are running left to right, you need to move the arrow rest to the left.
VERTICAL MICRO-ADJUST: Insert a 9/64 allen wrench into the head of the
vertical micro-adjust screw. Turn the screw clockwise to move it down, turn it
counter-clockwise to move it up. The micro-adjust will automatically self-lock
when movement stops.
ALLEN WRENCH UPKEEP: Using a good allen wrench when making adjustments to the sight can prolong the life of your screws
dramatically. If the allen wrench starts to become worn/rounded it is recommended you grind off the worn/rounded portion. This will
ensure you have full contact when making adjustments and reduce the likely hood of stripping or rounding the head of the screw.
STEP 5 – INDIVIDUAL PIN ADJUSTMENTS
MAKE SURE ALL THE VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT SCREWS ARE TIGHT BEFORE
SHOOTING, NEVER SHOOT WITH THE VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT SCREWS LOOSE
OR YOU WILL LOOSE A PIN & TURRET.

• The customer is responsible for shipping charges to return a product. Spot-Hogg will pay the shipping charges to return a repair to the customer.
• If a customer needs a replacement piece immediately, due to a damaged product, Spot-Hogg will send the part/piece necessary only with
submission of a valid credit card. The card will be charged upon sending of replacement product. The customer then has 30 days to return the
damaged part for credit.
SIGHT PRODUCT WARRANTY & REPAIR POLICIES:
PIN ORDER: Top pin should always be your shortest distance, and your bottom
pin the longest distance.
HORIZONTAL PIN ADJUSTMENTS: When making large vertical adjustments to
the pins you may find that the pin no longer lines up with the wire. Each pin
has a single button head screw, located at the rear of the turret, for making
horizontal micro-adjustments. Turning the screw clockwise will pull the pin into the turret and away from the wire. Turning the screw
counter-clockwise will move the pin out of the turret and towards the wire. When making adjustments always apply pressure into the
screw head with the allen key, so you don’t round out the screw head. There are no lock downs needed on the pins individual, horizontal micro-adjust screws.
THE SPOT-HOGG GUARANTEE: We guarantee your sight to be of the finest quality and craftsmanship. All sights come with a limited lifetime warranty. Should your sight become damaged, Spot-Hogg will fix or replace any part of the sight, excluding fiber optics. Scratches, dings, or dents, don’t
apply. For any questions or comments regarding the Spot-Hogg Real Deal or warranty service on this product, contact us at.

PEEP ALIGNMENT: Peep alignment with the white sticker on the pin guard, will change depending on where the sight
is mounted. It is strongly recommended when choosing your mounting location that the peep & pin guard have a nice
concentric match. So when looking through the peep, the outside diameter of the field of view, just catches the white
alignment ring on the pin guard.
STEP 5 – SIGHTING IN
CHOOSE A METHOD: When starting out you will want to use one of the methods listed below to make sure you achieve
the desired settings based on your application. The individual horizontal pin adjustments are only used to keep the pin
splitting the wire. Use the gang horizontal micro-adjustment for all general left and right impact point adjustments.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS OF ACHIEVING PEEP AND PIN GUARD ALIGNMENT.
• By changing peep size and moving the sights mounting location in and out, you should be able to get a good match
between the peep and pin guard.
• Mount the sight based on your floating pattern, then use a hand held chuck and a drill index #’s 1 thru 60, and incrementally drill out the peep until you achieve a match. Always use a hand held drill chuck, never use an electric drill or it
can bind up and potentially cut your string.
Depending on which method you choose, will depend on how you use the gang vertical micro-adjust for sighting in. There
is a multitude of different methods for sighting in, listed below are the three most popular.
PIN GAPS: The farther the sight is mounted from the bow the farther apart your pin gaps will be. The closer the sight is
mounted to the bow the tighter your pin gaps will be.
STEP 3 – GANG ADJUSTMENT
HORIZONTAL: To move the whole pin guard left or right, loosen the
¼-20 lock down screw located on the mounting bar. Slide the center
to the desired location and tighten the lock down screw.
Using this method the pins will have a
more even spread across the pin guard.
METHOD 3: Sight in the bubble as a 6th pin, by moving the pin guard up, down, and side-to-side until where the wire
meets the bubble, is impacting spot on for the distance desired (example: 70 yards). Then, use the individual pin adjustments to sight in the other pins. Using this method, the pins will have a nice even spread and you will have an extra pin.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
VERTICAL: To move the whole pin guard up or down, loosen the ¼-20
lock down screw located on the center. Slide the center to the desired
location and tighten back down the lock down screw.
STEP 4 – INDIVIDUAL PIN ADJUSTMENTS
MAKE SURE ALL OF THE VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT SCREWS ARE TIGHT
BEFORE SHOOTING, NEVER SHOOT WITH THE VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT
SCREWS LOOSE OR YOU WILL LOOSE A PIN & TURRET.
PIN ORDER: When sighting in your pins, you always want to start with your closest distance pin at the top and work your
way down to your longest distance pin on the bottom.
HORIZONTAL PIN ADJUSTMENTS: When making large vertical adjustments to the pins you may find that the pin no longer lines up with the
wire. Each pin has a single button head screw, located at the rear of
the turret, for making horizontal micro-adjustments. Turning the screw
clockwise will pull the pin into the turret and away from the wire. Turning the screw counter-clockwise will move the pin out of the turret and
towards the wire. When making adjustments always apply pressure
into the screw head with the allen key, so you don’t round out the
screw head. There are no lock downs needed on the pins individual,
horizontal micro-adjust screws.
VERTICAL PIN ADJUSTMENT: There are two 6-32 set screws designated to each pin, located at the back of the pin guard. By loosening
one screw and tightening the other, you can move the pin up or down.
If you want to move the pin up, loosen the upper screw and tighten the lower. If you want to move the pin down, loosen
the lower screw and tighten the upper. Be sure you go back and snug the screw you loosened first to ensure it will not
come loose.
PINS DON’T LINE UP WITH THE WIRE: The horizontal setting of the arrow rest is tied to the bubble of the sight on all Solo
Cam & Single Cam bows. If the horizontal setting is not set correctly, you will find that when sighted in the pins don’t line
up with the wire. If from top to bottom, the pins are running right to left, you need to move your arrow rest to the right. If
from top to bottom, the pins are running left to right, you need to move the arrow rest to the left.
ALLEN WRENCH UPKEEP: Using a good allen wrench when making adjustments to the sight can prolong the life of your
screws dramatically. If the allen wrench starts to become worn/rounded it is recommended you grind off the worn/
rounded portion. This will ensure you have full contact when making adjustments and reduce the likely hood of stripping
or rounding the head of the screw.

PARTS LIST
1 – Pin guard with pins, fiber optics, and Hogg
Wrap (optional) already installed
1 – Bar & Center ¼-20 screws
already assembled
2 – 10-24 X 5/8” mounting screws
STEP 1 – ASSEMBLING THE SIGHT
RIGHT HAND: Slide the pin guard dovetail into the center, and tighten
the ¼-20 vertical clamping screw. The bubble needs to be at the bottom of the pin guard.
LEFT HAND: Loosen the ¼-20 horizontal lock down screw. Slide the
center out of the bar, turn it around and slide it back into the mounting bars dovetail and tighten. The head of the ¼-20 lock down screw
is now on the opposite side of the bar. Slide the pin guard dovetail
into the center, and tighten the ¼-20 vertical clamping screw. The
bubble needs to be at the bottom of the pin guard.
CENTERING, THE ADVANCED AIMING TECHINIQUE: All Spot-Hogg
sights come with a round pin guard and white alignment ring. We
have found that centering your pin guard in your peep, is more accurate, and easier to duplicate the aiming process, than trying to center
a single pin. When centering your pin guard, you are centering one
circle inside a slightly larger circle, making it easier to tell when you
are slightly off center. Centering your guard, will allow you to use a
larger peep than you might normally use, which is an added benefit for
hunters, in those low light situations. With our round pin guard, you
can have freestyle accuracy with a fixed pin sight.
STEP 2 – MOUNTING THE SIGHT TO THE BOW
The sight has three different sets of mounting holes. Insert the mounting screws into the desired holes and tighten to the bow. The two
threaded holes on the mounting bar are for a bow quiver. The mounting holes you choose, affect you in multiple ways.
HOLDING STEADY: The closer the sight is to the bow, the steadier it will appear on the target. The farther the sight is from
the bow, the harder it will be to hold steady on the target. It is recommended that when choosing the mounting location,
use the holes that allow you to float the size of the spot at the farthest distance you intend to shoot. This will allow you
to achieve good shot execution rather than punching the release as it floats by the spot.

MAKING SMALL VERTICAL ADJUSTMENTS EXAMPLE: Insert the allen
wrench into the screw so the allen handle is dog legged to 12 o’clock. As you loosen the screw, the allen handle will
jump to about 10 to 11 o’clock. Tighten it back to 11:30, then remove the allen wrench. Insert it into the other screw
and tighten the last ½ hour the rest of the way up. By using this method you can move the pin in as small as ¼ of a fiber
