HAY FESTIVAL
KELLS
28–30 June 2013
Welcome to our first festival in Ireland.Thank you
for coming and for joining this conversation with
international writers and thinkers to imagine the
world both as it is and as it might be.
We are honoured and delighted to be working with
so many partners in Kells and we are deeply grateful
to everyone for their generosity and encouragement,
which have made this festival happen.
The festival is a home for dreaming in public; it is a
rigorous examination of truths and probabilities;
and it is a party to celebrate the power of the word.
Please join us.
Fáilte go dtí an chéad fhéile in Éirinn againn.
Buíochas as teacht agus páirt a ghlacadh sa chomhrá
seo le scríbhneoirí is le smaointeoirí idirnáisiúnta
chun domhan a shamhlú mar atá agus mar a
d’fhéadfadh sé a bheith.
Is cúis onóra agus áthais dúinn a bheith ag obair leis
an méid sin páirtithe i gCeanannas Mór agus táimid
an-bhuíoch as an bhflaithiúlacht agus as an
spreagadh a chabhraigh linn an fhéile seo a
reáchtáil.
Is deis í an fhéile seo chun a bheith ag
brionglóideach go poiblí; is dianscrúdú í ar fhírinní
agus ar dhóchúlachtaí; agus is cóisir í le ceiliúradh a
dhéanamh ar chumhacht an bhriathair.
Bí páirteach linn, le do thoil.
