It is with great pleasure that we present the sale of The Estate of the late Michael David Hodges 2-4 Kent Hughes Road Eltham Michael was only 52 when he passed away in August 2015, the father of five children who provided them with not only a comfortable life but more importantly sound values. and owner of a large plumbing business for over 30 years, that he himself grew from a "One Man Band" to about 300 and thanks to him they are still going strong. He was a hardworking, determined, resourceful and astute. He was decisive and reliable, a lateral thinker both identifying opportunities and problem solving came easily to him. A natural born leader with enormous charisma and a prodigious networker, there was something about Mick that made it possible for him to get along with just about anyone, his character transcended race, gender, religion and class. Michael “Mick” had only been known to Amanda and David for about 4 years, but in that time he formed a very friendly association as he was both an outgoing and sociable individual but he was also always keen to learn something new, he loved collecting and was eclectic in his taste, things did not have to be expensive or rare they just had to capture Michael’s imagination and they were his, price was not an object. Michael was a keen coach, loved football, boxing, horse racing you name it he loved action, he was a keen camper and often spent time in Aboriginal communities where he formed numerous friendships and supported their artists and communities he worked extensively with the Tiwi community who adopted him and named him “Yer pulling ardi” and assigned the Totem Shark. Mick supported and poured his heart into sporting and education for indigenous children for over 15 years. He was awarded Pride of Australia National medal 2007 for outstanding work with indigenous Australians, which made him most proud. Mick truly was a larger than life character with such warmth, hospitality, good humoured person with a special soul, his willingness and propensity to help others was truly extraordinary, he made one hell of a difference to many people. “Not bad for a dumb plumber from Broadmeadows” he would say.
