of this year’s High Holy Day Food Drive.
It’s amazing the staggering amount of
donations that we received from Rosh

donations. In all 279 bags of food went
out to 11 local charitable organizations.
The recipients were: Blackstone Valley

Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, Crossroads,
Progresso Latino, Providence Head Start,
Ronald McDonald House, Family Services

Program, Camp Street Ministries and
Kosher Pantry.
A special thanks to Ellis Waldman and all

Mr. Stuart Feldman
Temple Beth-El
70 Orchard Avenue
Providence, RI 02906
Dear Mr. Feldman:
On behalf of our Board of Directors and Guests, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and
the members of Temple Beth - El for your very generous donation of non-perishable food items and cleaning
supplies. This is an enormous help to us.
This past summer was very busy at the Soup Kitchen. During the months of July and August, we served
a total of 5,600 unduplicated meals. We are seeing many new faces at the Soup Kitchen, many of
whom are families with children, young adults who have aged out of DCYF, and elderly single adults.
We continue to serve breakfast and dinner, Monday through Saturday, and remain the only Soup Kitchen
in the Blackstone Valley area to provide this service. In addition to the meals we serve on sit.e, we also
provide a full dinner, seven days per week, to the homeless men and women who stay at tlie St. Paul's
Episcopal Church Emergency Shelter, located in downtown Pawtucket. When available, we offer free
clothing and health & beauty aid items to our guests. Despite government reports and forecasts to the
contrary, economic recovery has been slow catching up to the population we serve. We anticipate the
need for our service continuing for the rest of the year at the same or an increased level. We rely heavily
on community support to insure that we are always able to meet the need.
On October 17, 2014, we hosted our 2nd Annual Ernie Marot Humanitarian Awards and Fund Raising
Dinner. This year's honorees included: Irving Basiliere, Dr. Michael Ragosta, Pawtucket Credit Union,
Navigant Credit Union and Rl Registry of Motor Vehicles. Honorary Chairman of this event was
Frank Coletta of WJAR-10's Sunrise Show.
Thank you again for generosity, kindness and support. It makes what we do a lot easier. Best
wishes to you and the members of Temple Beth - El for a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
Adrienne Marchetti

Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, I want to thank you personally for
your generous donation of groceries and household items. Thanks to Temple Beth-El we
are able to continue our important mission, providing a home-away-from-home to
families of pediatric patients being treated at area hospitals.
Each year we are host to nearly 400 families who hail from Rhode Island and
Southeastern New England, as well as locales national and international. Every donation
helps us provide all the comforts of home to a family during what is, perhaps, the most
difficult time in their lives.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Michelle LePage

VEGAN COOKING
October 22 & November 12
7:00 PM
$30.00
Kate Goldhouse is a self-taught expert chef who teaches
plant-based cooking classes at Goldhouse Gourmet in
Boston, MA. She is also the star of over 30 cooking videos
on eHow.com where she shows people how to cook
mouthwatering meals that promote better health and a
better world.
Kate received her B.A. with Honors from Brown University
where she studied the way food and eating shaped ancient
civilizations. She received her certification in Plant-Based
Nutrition from eCornell in 2013 and is currently completing a
500-hour program to become a certified nutritionist and health
coach through the Vancouver Island School of Natural Wellness.
Kate adopted a plant - based diet in 2010 when she realized
the impact our food choices have on our own health, the
environment, and the lives of animals. She found that learning
to cook healthful plant - based meals for herself was incredibly
empowering, and she has since been dedicated
to using her knowledge and passion to inspire
others to cook health - promoting,
compassionate, and delicious food.

To Delphine, becoming a Bat Mitzvah brings maturity. Delphine has
learned new things about herself as well as having learned many
important prayers and traditions. For her Mitzvah Mania project,
she is going to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund, and plans
to help out at local animal shelters. It is important in the future for
Delphine to make a difference in the life of at least one person who
would think of her as a hero, “because I know I have lots of people
