Let’s sweat together for improving Quality
A happy new year!
Firstly, I would like to look back last year. As all of you may
already know, we encountered many problems that we had to solve,
especially those relating to cape size bulk carriers. However, those
problems must have given us great opportunities to think deeply about our
way of design, our checking procedure and our attitude to the customers.
I can say all experiences that you had are definitely seeds for our future
improvement and growth.
Let’s try to produce a lot of fruits from those seeds that we got last
year!
This year, we have raised our company wide objectives, then, we are prioritizing the improvement of
design quality.
However, we should improve not only design also other quality such as:
Quality of Management
Quality of Personnel
Quality of Service/Support
So, shall we sweat for improving various “Quality” this year.
Furthermore, I would like to ask your cooperation and best efforts for building up best team work as we can not
achieve our target without team work.
I trust that we will be able to have a successful year by our best challenges and efforts.

As we all move forward and meet new challenges in 2012, I hope that
we shall all be united and aggressive in the pursuit of our dreams and goals.
Let us therefore be one in creating positive change in our personal and
corporate life.
This year, let us focus and take seriously the quality of our Design
output and the quality of service that we provide to our clients (both internal
and external). Let us all have pride in what we do and make QUALITY be the
true expression of our capabilities, of who we are and what we are as an
organization.
Let us remember that Quality is the key to survive in every business and that we should relentlessly strive to create
value for all stakeholders to put their trust in our organization.
I firmly believe that everybody has the capability to make a difference and this belief is anchored by faith that each
one of us is an integral part in the accomplishment of our shared goals and objectives.
While we face tougher times ahead, it is my earnest hope and dream that all of us shall find the true meaning of our
existence and that we can recognize in every opportunity-our worth and capability, and may we all find the happiness and
contentment that we all look for in an organization and in our life..

NUPAS-Cadmatic: The Improved Quality Design

"Can you join the CADMATIC team also?” That was the question when I returned to my desk. Without a
second thought and without knowing more about the latest 3D design software, I replied "Yes". Is there really a big
advantage of using Cadmatic than other solutions? Couple of questions also crossed my mind after deciding to quit
my tenure in Hull Piping. In spite of the strong foundation and knowledge we earned from Hull Piping, uncertainty of
learning the ropes in Cadmatic design is still one of my considerations.
As I started my work using Cadmatic, I’ve seen that most of the command applications display a
comprehensive and easy approach. It has without a doubt the shortest learning time of comparable software I’ve
ever encountered. Before knowing more of the basics and advantages of the Nupas-Cadmatic design software, here
is a brief history of Nupas-Cadmatic.
3D design software was originally developed in the mid 80's for in-house use by Cadmatic's mother
company, Elomatic Ltd, to take advantage of 3D technology in improving the design, visualization, distribution and
total cost efficiency of engineering projects. It was at this time that Cadmatic also started its co-operation with Dutch
partners, Numeriek Centrum Groningen B.V., to develop comprehensive 3D design solutions for ship design under
the Nupas-Cadmatic name while continuing with plant design software development under the original Cadmatic
name. In 1992, Cadmatic Oy, Finland and Dutch Numeriek Centrum Groningen signed a joint-venture agreement on
the integration of the NCG Ship hull and steel part software and the Cadmatic piping and machinery software. The
idea behind the joint venture was to combine the long standing experience of the companies in their specialized
areas into a single software design package for shipbuilding that would provide users with a complete design
solution. NUPAS-CADMATIC developers constantly strive to search for improvements that would lead to further
streamlining and efficiency gains in shipbuilding. After thorough testing and proving to be one of the most advanced
and efficient shipbuilding software solutions on the market, Version 5.2 is the culmination of 16 years of close
co
-operation between the two specialist companies.
The software soon became a popular choice and Cadmatic's growth has been impressive since the early
days with more than 4500 licenses sold in 42 countries up to date. The company aims to continue its strong growth
in the future by providing cost efficient and innovative design solutions. Nupas-Cadmatic 3D ship design software is
the ideal tool for optimized ship design and project management. It’s disciplinary 3D design and engineering
applications are highly integrated, ensuring consistent and error free designs for all design and production phases.
Nupas-Cadmatic 3D improves design by cutting down on costly and time consuming design errors. Large scale automation and specification driven design guides the designer ensuring compatible and correct design. Features such
as collision control and auto nesting avoid errors that can significantly slow down production. The integrated system
ensures that any design changes made at different stages are updated throughout the system so that the latest and
correct engineering information is available to all.

There is called the Nupas-cadmatic online replica servers that are particularly helpful in international contacts.
When using on-line replicas, all the companies involved have information about actual state of the area they work on
every 10 minutes. Customers outside the country can also immediately check the drawings we adopt. It has saved
time! This is where the Nupas-Cadmatic system has a big advantage compared to other 3D design applications.
Nupas-Cadmatic Pipe efficiently produces all the required isometric and spool drawings (pipe piece and pipe
supports) and material take-offs in the manufacture and installation of piping. Completed drawings (isometrics, spools,
material take-offs) are produced automatically from the 3D model. The flexible and customizable Pipe module takes
manufacturing technology into account. Data for bending machines and other manufacturing parameters can for
example be added to the database. Pipe outputs manufacturing information such as cutting lists, surface treatment,
welds, and total weight.

Nupas-Cadmatic Pipe Support Designer also makes modeling of primary and secondary piping, ducting and
cable tray supports very easy and fast. It creates exact production drawings of supports. The designer simply inputs
the location of the supports and the drawings are automatically produced. The dimensions of primary and secondary
supports based on the pipe dimensions are also automatically created. AutoCad 3D models can also be directly
imported and exported with Nupas-Cadmatic eXchanger.

For the export and import of 2D drawings from/to Nupas-Cadmatic there is an intelligent module for dwg, dxf and dwf
formats. High quality AutoCAD drawings automatically include interactive hyperlinks between AutoCAD 2D symbols and
Nupas-Cadmatic 3D objects. By clicking for example on valves, equipment or instrument symbols at the AutoCAD level,
Nupas-Cadmatic eBrowser immediately visualizes the location and provides the required object data. This can of course be
done the other way around too.
These are just some of the features of NUPAS CADMATIC 3D software. Nupas-Cadmatic has a proven record of
reducing design error percentages. I was really surprised how easy it was, especially if you consider that we did not have much
3D modeling experience in piping. Thanks to Nupas-Cadmatic that we have removed a great number of mistakes from
previous designs which was done in 2D. We still achieved better results with our little experience.

TTSP Vision Meeting 2012: A Drive Towards Excellence

Turning the page back into the former year, TTSP geared to
having an improved quality, on-time delivery, customer-focus and
discipline. And for a year, positive results came into view in the
annual TTSP Vision Meeting held last January 13, 2012 at THI
Training Center. President Kazuhiro Kitamura, in a brief message,
accentuated on quality and discipline as key points of our
company’s goal this year. Then, General Manager Segismundo
Exaltacion Jr. started his presentation of last year’s performance
assessment and this year’s corporate objectives.

The GM’s presentation showed the evaluation of the different perspectives through
graphical figures and detailed tables. Also conferred was the key learning of last year’s
assessment results. And lastly, the GM put emphasis on the corporate objectives for this year to
be properly taken cared of in order to reap excellent results. Prior to the presentation of the facts
and figures, the GM took some snapshots of Tsuneishi’s triumph in shipbuilding industry being
the No.1 in market share for mid-size bulker. And with a high competition due to unfavorable
market conditions and currently low ship’s prices, Tsuneishi Group is on for challenges. Locally,
THI shall build mostly 82BC ships from 2014 making Philippines still the 4th in the world for new
building ship completions. 2011 Assessment and Upshots
2011 was indeed a challenging year for TTSP but solutions were formulated and had been
brought into practice to continuously keep an excellent pace. With an improved attendance ratio and
customer related viewpoint, TTSP was off for a good start. Having the TTSP Quality Patrol has really put a
positive surge into meeting customer’s satisfaction. In addition, delivery ratio still had satisfactory
ratings by continuously having aggressive follow-up of input data especially those beyond control and
seeking assistance from Japanese gurus. And lastly, TTSP was able to break through in the internal
business process aspect with the reduction of piece errors and error feedback. By reducing error limits
of 20% of previous base ship to succeeding series vessels and 5 % of preceding vessel to succeeding
sister vessels, the quality ratio output of 28.71 % had reasonably hit the board. In total, the 2011
weighed up grade of TTSP is 0.869 which is a B.
Comprehension and Learning in 2011
To persistently improve quality, delivery and customer service, the GM jogged our memory back
about the P-D-C-A, Plan-Do-Check-Adjust (Action). This serves as an easy guide to improve our
strategic thinking skills and also behavioral and business skills. Another P-D-C-A, ProfessionalismDiscipline-Commitment-Accountability, was also discussed by the GM that illustrates about the
backbone of who we are and what we can do. With this, we should always take into account that our
work and products are of superior design quality. In addition, being
committed to on-time delivery is a plus point in achieving the company’s
goal. Another segment to be put into great value is being excellent in
customer service and to always be committed to unremitting improvement.
The GM also eagerly projected that TTSP will be a reliable
technical service provider and the globally preferred Engineering and
Ship Design Company in 2015. But on the other hand, the strategic
competencies are not enough to suffice the projection. With this, the GM
added more sustainable aptitudes and values. These supplementary principles are sustainable
technical skill level, active partnership and collaborator for growth, deep
sense of involvement and commitment and finally loyalty.

Pushing the Boundaries in 2012
With the company’s commitment to continuous improvement, it is
not at all surprising that our GM is setting the bar higher for us
this 2012 with a target rating of “A”. Some of our performance
rating hurdles for this year are higher than last year’s
accompanied with the introduction of new criteria for
evaluation.
Our main focus for this year is on quality and this is
manifested through the goal of reducing errors by at least 50% and
making use of new rating criteria for Design Error Reduction. As a
means of quantifying our client’s satisfaction, the company will
introduce the Customer Satisfaction Survey with a goal of attaining an
evaluation rating of 90% from both Owner and THI Yard. The
survey’s results will also factor in our performance evaluation with a
weight of 0.06 for both Yard and Owner’s evaluation score.
Our hurdles for Attendance Ratio and 3s Implementation are
also noticeably higher from 94.44% to 96% for Attendance Ratio and from
95% to 97% for 3s Implementation. Attention is also given to improvement of Technical
Know
-how and Skill Level-up.

One of this year’s objectives which is also worthy of note is the company’s goal of eliminating waste. In this time of dwindling resources and skyrocketing costs, it is only timely for us
to learn to minimize if not totally eliminate waste. From a more economic viewpoint, reduction of waste
also means reduction of indirect cost. The GM cited an increase in fuel, power and supply costs from
2010 to 2011. This year’s intent is to reduce this by not less than 5%
Our targets are definitely higher this year and they will probably stretch everyone to their limits.
But let us all bear in mind that high expectations are a reflection of the management’s regard for our
capabilities. Let this be cause for inspiration and not discouragement. In TTSP’s quest to continually
move upward and forward, our GM is urging us to: DO BETTER and BE BETTER, DO something
DIFFERENT, and DO MORE!

TTSP Organizes Planning Session 2011

“To be the reliable technical service provider & the globally preferred engineering and Design
Company in 2015” is the vision of TTSP. With top management, group leaders, supervisors and selected

representatives from support group, the company conducted a 2 day strategic planning session last
November 25 & 26, 2011 at Casino Español de Cebu. The focus of the activity is planning how to achieve
the said vision. Each team had an interim result reports regarding the Specific Objectives (S.O.), skill level,
man-hours and other results which includes observations on attitudes and group initiatives such as action plan.
One of the activities that were given by General Manager Segismundo Exaltacion Jr. is the SWOT Analysis to

determine what actions, strategies or best solutions for every factor that might affect our quality performance, employee
engagement, customer satisfaction and other challenging issues. Participants were divided into 5 groups and each group was
challenged to determine the Strength and Weaknesses of the company and the Opportunities and Threats outside the company.
On the second day, each team made a draft for Y2012 priorities and possible objectives. There are six Key Success
Factors (KSF): price, productivity, quality, delivery, customer service and capabilities and competence. Each team listed their

strategic measure on each KSF that will create impact on internal business process, financial, customer, learning and growth.
Strategic measures were recognized and actions were stated to achieve them.

Typhoon Sendong’s Victims Received Aid from TTSP

Christmas is supposedly a happy season because it is the time that we
spend the holiday with our loving family. But a great trial was firmly faced and a test
of faith was indeed challenged as Typhoon Sendong hit the provinces of Iligan,
Cagayan de Oro and Dumaguete on the late night of December 17, 2011. Many
families were in distress, agonizing the lost of lives of their loved ones and became
homeless due to the abrupt outcome caused by the wrath of Sendong.
As our way of somehow uplifting their sentiments, TTSPians have unitedly
shared their blessings by donating some used and unused items like clothes, shoes,
sandals, bags, caps, and other perishable goods like noodles, milk, milo, toiletries
etc. Total of nine (9) boxes were sealed including one (1) box donated by Ms. Virgie
Dumdum of THI-GA Group. Moreover, monetary donation gathered had reached to
Php Php 51, 852.00. All of these were transported and successfully turned over to ABS-CBN Foundation last
December 28, 2011
The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each other’s burdens, easing other's loads and supplanting empty hearts with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas. To all those who took part of such
munificent undertaking, a big hooray and thank you to all of you. Kudos!

“Be Contagious 2011” Continuous to Share

For some, it maybe just an ordinary Sunday, but for those families and
the people with contagious heart who wish to spread the essence of love and
share the laughter in this season of giving, it was a day whom memories had its
worth.
The weather goes with it on this most anticipated time; “Be Contagious:
affect and spread the spirit of Christmas” launched their 4th outreach activity dated 11th of December year 2011. More than 120 families located at Baybay, Balamban, Cebu were handed with packed of goodies
during this day. Happiness filled the air. The gladness
was visibly seen on the eyes of each family member who was surprised to unexpectedly receive bundles of gifts that were packed and prepared.

A half-day of non-stop activity, searching for doors that will open and welcome
the eighteen (18) BeCon Volunteers, was really fulfilling and exciting. Indeed, the
activity was a success. For those who are generous enough who shared their time,
talent and finances, kudos to you all! Most of all, for Him who have helped us in having
the gifts we could share with someone else; we never stopped giving You thanks.
TTSPians Compete Again for Calendar and Christmas Card Making

Each year, TTSP conducts a contest for Calendar and Christmas Card
Making. Through this contest, TTSPians proved again that they are not only excellent in
designing ships but also had artistic abilities in painting/making calendars and greeting
cards.
All the entries were really works of outstanding artistry. They made the judges
struggle to select the best entry for each category. Through online voting via lotus notes,
the winning pieces were determined.
Jerson Crismundo (Working Plan Team), Jeson Carnable (Electrical Team), and
Randy Baracao (KPYP Team) grabbed the first, second, and third prize, respectively, for
Christmas card making category. They received certificates and cash prizes worth P2000
for first place, P1500 for second place, and P1000 for third place. Jean Mar Nualda of
Machinery Piping bagged the grand prize for Calendar Making category with an award of
P3500 and a certificate. All prizes were given during the Christmas party last December
2011 in Cebu City.
Their works of art were reproduced and distributed to all TTSP
employees. They were truly wonderful gifts that made every TTSPian
happy and proud.

MANAGING TIME

flowers; Gnaws iron, bites steel; Grinds hard stones to
meal; Slays king, ruins town, And beats high mountain

luck, Bilbo was able to give Gollum the correct answer ‘time’.
There are 24 hours in the day and we all have
access to the same amount of time. This is something that
will not change and we can do nothing about it. While we
may not be able to control this, we can manage this by
ourselves. Once we realize this we have taken the first step
towards effective time management. We must look at the
things that are important in our life and work and devote our
time to these. Everything else should be minimized if not
eliminated.
Managing our time effectively will bring about some
dramatic improvements in our life, but we must be prepared
to make some fundamental changes. Because of this, we
need to take one step at a time. To take the first step in
effective time management you need to know yourself. As
we grow older it is easy to lose track of the things that really
matter to us in life. It is amazing that we can let this happen
to us, but it happens all too easily.
Therefore, the first thing we need to do before we
even begin to manage our time is to get in touch with what
we really want from life. This is where we find our vision.
Remember the time earlier in our life when we felt anything
was possible. How did we envisage our life at that time?
This could help us to get in touch with our vision. It is likely
that some of our priorities will have changed since then, but
many will have remained the same.
Planning our day.
This is just one very small step on the way to
effective time management but should show us that if we
go at our own pace that it is far from impossible. However,
we must be much more meticulous in planning our days so
that we complete everything we need to do while only
spending time on the things that really matter to us.
This is where a time plan comes in. We need to
have a very clear idea of what needs to be done, how long
it will take, and when it is going to be done. If it is your first
time using a time plan you may want to keep a time log for
a week or two first. With a time log you write down in detail
how you spend your time. Do this for a few days and you
will get a clear idea of how you spend your days and how
long various tasks take you. When you know how long each
task will take, you can plan your day much more accurately.

someone else to do it.

Dump it - If not important. Forget about it.

If we are able to classify all tasks that arise
in our average day under one of the four Ds, then
we have overcome a major hurdle in time management.
Time wasters
Time wasters can destroy any attempt at effective
time management if they are not identified and
eliminated. The biggest problem is that they are
often very hard to identify because they can be very
trivial.

Lack of or poor planning - File things properly,
write down appointments, that kind of thing.
Basically, you need to be organized to use your

Procrastination - Many people keep deferring things

things that you are good at and enjoy. Someone else
can do the rest.

Interruptions - Set up your workspace so that there
are no distractions that will disrupt your workflow.
These and other time wasters are probably eating
into our time, so try to identify them and get rid of them.
Life is full of opportunities to get a few minutes of
productivity in, rather than feeling bored or wasting time, if
we only take advantage of them. The key is to find and
recognize them, while breaking some of our worst habits at
the same time.
We will never be able to find time for anything; if we
want time, we must make it.

Casino Español’s sparkling Christmas lights and
festive décor was the perfect backdrop to the most awaited
event of the year, TTSP’s Christmas and Bounenkai Party
2011. This year, TTSP chose to go with a classy and
elegantly-themed Black & White Christmas party. Employees
came in their most glam getups and got ready to spread some
cheer and enjoy the night as the challenging year of 2011
came to a close. The 33rd Batch kick-started the event with a
hilarious number, spoofing famous movies and celebrities and
entertained the crowd with an energetic dance medley. Our
General Manager, Segismundo Exaltacion Jr., delivered his
words of welcome followed by a message from Mr. Yasunori
Kohatake, the Managing Director of TSC, who graced us with
his presence. A heart-warming year-end message was also
heard from no less than our TTSP President, Mr. Kazuhiro
Kitamura. This was followed by our tradition of recognizing
and honoring those employees who have stayed with the
company through the years. This year, five employees
received the 15-Years of Service award. A special video
message from their friends, colleagues, and team members
were played to show their appreciation and fond wishes for
the awardees. Thirty-nine employees also received the 5 Years
of Service award.
Of course, what is a party without some food? A
bountiful and lavish banquet was set out for the employees to
enjoy while a group of TTSP’s most soulful male voices
serenaded everyone. The break provided everyone a chance to
mingle and connect with each other especially those who just
got back from Japan and were sorely missed. The hall echoed

with excitement and joy as the time came for the exchanging
of gifts. Everyone went in search of their Manito or Manita to
hand them their gaily wrapped presents.
Our managers and their Japanese colleagues also got
the chance to let their hair down and show off their moves in a
macho dance number to the tune of “Katawan”. Cheers and
hoots accompanied their every daring move as the employees
enjoyed the spectacle. Kudos to the managers and Japanese
staff for their superbly enjoyable number! We can’t wait for
next year!
The fresh faces of our new clerks in a hot and sexy
dance medley made the male population sit up and take notice.
The next part kept the adrenaline level high as the different
groups competed in a Showcase of Talents. The competition
was stiff this year with each group giving their best in the
hopes of being proclaimed the winner. The floor was witness
to a variety of talents: dancing, singing, rapping, stomping,
you name it! The TTSP employees were an inexhaustible
supply of talents that night. With the help of our discerning
judges, the contest ended with MDG as back to back
Champion followed by an astounding comeback for HOG
placing in second. HDG came in third place with EDG/
Support Group in fourth. With the presentations getting better
and better each year, MDG will be hard-pressed to continually
step up to keep their crown.
Of course, the event will not be complete without our
Mr. and Ms. Black & White of the Night. The organizers
conspired with TTSP’s aspiring paparazzi to submit 10 shots
(of 5 males & 5 females) of those employees who wowed
everyone and exhibited stunning style and a winning
personality. The top ten were truly deserving but it all came
down to two winners. Ms. Claire Solomon was hot and sultry
in a little glittery black dress while Mr.
Reymond Sanchez was cool and
confident in his all-black ensemble.

and acknowledgements but the party was
far from over. A live band and some
dancing continued to entertain everyone
with camera flashes going off every now
and then. The party was a successful
event. The joyous and heartwarming moments of that night
will not only be recalled in pictures but also in our hearts
where they will remain as special memories of a Black &
White Christmas. We look forward to another challenging
and fulfilling year ahead with TTSP.
A Concert @ Fukuyama

TC Japan joined a whole day concert in Fukuyama
Theater at Fukuyama City last June 2011. The said concert
was entitled, ''The Big Band 2011''. The activity was
participated by many bands and orchestras throughout
Hiroshima and Okayama Prefecture.
It was a great pride for TTSP because two TTSP
members, together with TC Japan staffs named Kanenaga
Akiko and Suazo Dionne Rosary, participated the gig. One of
the TTSP members who joined the event was from
Machinery Piping Team and the other one was from
Completion Team. Who were those guys who had guts to
join the concert? I think they had too much nerve.
Now let’s talk about the details. The invitation was
relayed by Mark Aliño to all TTSP members in Japan and
only two courageously replied and said, ''Yes, I will join.''
Then he told the coordinator of the event in TC that there
were two TTSP members enthusiastic to join the concert. A
day after, Mark informed those two musician wannabes that
there was no more backing out. They must join whatever it
takes. The only practice they had was held in Kurashiki,
Okayama prefecture one Sunday night. On that night, they
traveled more than two hours to reach Kurashiki City and oh
they were very excited. The two expected that the band they
were about to join is the same in the Philippines - hard rock,
rnb or hiphop style. That was why they were so confident,
but their world turned upside down. The band they joined in
was the Kurashiki Band, an orchestra in Okayama district
with complete musical instruments and had more than a
dozen of professional musicians involved. The duo was
stunned when they saw the stage arrangement. It had a
pianist, lead and base guitarists, saxophonist, violinist,
drummer, four Japanese vocalists and a certified Japanese
band master. Then suddenly, Mr. MP and CT couldn’t smile
anymore. They were terrified and one of them said ''I think
we are at the wrong place! I don’t know what to do in this
kind of band. Hope we won’t ruin their music.'' But, it seemed
that they didn’t have a choice anymore so they accepted
their fate. As first timers joining a musical crew of such kind,
the band master noticed them shaking out of fear but still
encouraged them. Other members encouragement helped
them to do better and they started to enjoy that sole practice.

One member used a maracas and the
other one played a clave. Since they love music and
are fast learners, they easily blended in the rhythm.
The practice lasted for about two hours and they
gave their best for the band. “Ganbatte
Kudassai!”, the word they said to themselves after
the practice.
Since they are determined to play with the
band, the poor boys used youtube for home practices and listened to Latin music everyday in order to
familiarize with the songs. They were to perform the
selected song entitled ''I am a Piano'' by
Orchestra Dela Luz , a Latin band.
Finally the day of the event came, held at one of the
famous theaters in Fukuyama, the two were placed in the
front-right side of the band and all viewers could see them
holding their musical instruments. Before they performed in
front of millions, the band master told them, ''Today, just think
you are princes, so relax prince!''. After a minute of shaking
their booties and banging of heads, it was all done. It was
such a relief for them like a thorn in their throats being pulled
out.
And that was the fairy tale of the two TTSP members
who had an unforgettable experience during their stay in Japan. For them it was a bit crazy experience but was really
musically memorable. They had learned a lot out of that
experience and still wanted to try again. Got an idea of who

operation, special anti-glare screens, eye exercises and nutritional supplementation.

But during the last 50 years nearly all our work
and much of our recreation, for example, video
games, has shifted the focus of our vision to arm's
length. This increased amount of near visual tasks
often produces such changes as nearsightedness, suppressed vision in one eye, poor eye
teaming and reduced efficiency at work and at
play.
Many computer users experience visual
stress due to:
1) an increase in the number and complexity of necessary eye movements and
focusing skills,
2) poor lighting conditions, glare and
distracting reflections,
3) screen flicker rate, and
4) above all, the extended amount of
computer use.
Relaxing Eye Exercises
Palming
The palming exercise will teach you to relax your eyes,
which in turn will bring healthy energy to your eyes.
First, rub your hands together until they feel warm
(about 15 to 20 seconds). Then place your cupped
hands over your closed eyes, being careful not to
touch your eyes with the palms of your hands. The
fingers of each hand should overlap and rest gently
on the center of your forehead. Don't create any
unnecessary pressure on your face. If your
arms get tired, rest your elbows on a table.
Sit quietly for one to two minutes with your
hands over your eyes. The more relaxed
you become, the blacker the darkness you
will see with your eyes closed.
Near-far focus
This exercise improves eye flexibility:
Hold your thumb six inches from your nose.
Focus on your thumb.
Take one deep breath and exhale slowly.
Then focus on an object about 10 feet
away.

RED SFERMINATORZ CONQUERED TBA ADMINS CUP

With tenacious will power and desire for victory, the Red
Sferminatorz neutralized White Traxex in Game 3 of the Finals, 73-70, to
conquer the TBA: Admin’s Cup held at Buanoy Gym on December 5, 2011.
The White Traxex came out aggressively at the start and tried to
suppress Red Sfeminatorz’s shooters. The shooting power of White
Traxex’s very own Arbon-Melecio-Racoma barely topped off Red
Sferminatorz’s Despabeladero-Gaa-Naron combo at the end of the 1st
quarter with just a half shot, 19-18 lead.
The Red Sferminatorz blasted and stunned White Traxex during the
nd
2 quarter. With the help of Raian Pacible, the big man inside the paint;
Mark Samorano in the perimeter; and the unpredictable moves of Carlmine
Celo supported them to increase the gap to 11 points at the end of the 1st half, 40-29.
Not satisfied with the result of the 1st half, the White Traxex changed tactics but the Red Sferminatorz foresaw their
strategy and fortified their defense and kept the former at bay while enjoying a 52-41 cushion after three quarters.
White Traxex’s unrelentingness paid off during the 4th quarter. Their determination slowed their rival’s offense while
boosting their trueshot aura to diminish the gap between their scores. At the end of the 4th quarter, the White Traxex made
17 points, thanks to Melecio’s scoring ability, who made 10 points in that quarter. On the other hand, Red Sferminatorz only
banked in 6 points, which brought the game to overtime period, 58-all.
Crowds cheered, players roared as the intensity of the game fluctuated rapidly every time someone went up for a
shot. Neither of the team thought of giving up, both teams played hard with their pride on the line, trying to surpass their
rival.
As the game came to the final minutes, the free throw shots made by the Red Sferminatorz broke the deadlock as
fans cheered to boost their morale. White Traxex desperately struggled for another OT period, but the Red Sferminatorz
successfully defended well to stop the White Traxex attempt for victory with a 73-70 final margin.
The battle between the two impressive teams ended with recognition of their own mistakes and triumphs.
Throughout the TBA season, teamwork and determination proved to be the key in the overcoming obstacles, and the Red
Sferminatorz showed their determination and honed their teamwork to subdue their rivals
ONBOARD.23

Mix Volley Tour Spikes Tenshin Anew

Another thrilling season unfold in sports as mix volley tournament
season 2 relieved back the spiking euphoria again in Tsuneishi Tenshin
grounds. September 20, 2011 marked the much awaited start of the
contest, where a total of eight competitors vied with each other to be named
as season’s champions. This year, a challenging transition made by head
Organizer Kelly Ardoña, as she also invited THI enthusiasts including
Japanese staffs who made up a team of their own.

Same as last year, a team should consist a quadruple men and a
couple of women to play as a team during a 7 preliminary games. Elimination competition was breathtakingly
enjoyable each day as all players and partisans were awed to all possible and impossible blocks, spikes, serve,
plays and saves by all players in the court. But in the end, only four teams remained to fight for the contest
supremacy. One of TTSP’s volleyball general Jomar Cabayao’s team held the best record in the elimination
round but cannot stop the busier and hungrier team of Erlinda Arcaya as they fell off to a 11-21-17 against 2115-21 drubbing. While the other pairing, Narciso Pilapil’s compatriots were no good to THI’s volleyball pride Ariel Dizon’s as they masterfully beat them in two sets 12-16 vs 21-21 set scores.
In the best of five finals, Dizon’s team of Melvin Cabizares, Carlmine Celo, Jeanel Tenio, Russel Traveso, Leo Villaflores, Sharon Paraguya, Althea Alila was unstoppable as they denied Arcaya’s teammates of
Moises Alfaro, Ian Cañeda, Jerick Del Carmen, Reynaldo Doronila, Mark Oliveros, Mary
Jane Tomol, as they beat them in four sets 16-21-21-21 over 21-10-14-15 match points
which gave them the title of being the mix volley tournament season champion while
Pilapil’s team salvage the third place plum.
Every single team had its own shining and memorable moments that made this
event worth to be remembered, like the consistent jump serves of Arden Neri, the
powerful smashes of Ariel Dizon, the undeniable defense of the Japanese players, the
improbable hustle plays of Jeromie Mejias and the twice in a row championship
experience of Althea Alila. So far, this period of games is growing more competitive every
year and with everyone’s full support, the organizers might be taking it more to the next
level as the season ended with applause and amusement to everyone.
The Run That Bonds

For some it is a dream to run a marathon, while others dreamed of just finishing a single race. While TTSPians
HAGUROS, fulfilled to run a marathon that even catered outside the country.
The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) is an annual international marathon race which is held on
the first Sunday of December in the city of Singapore.
Like any other marathons- tons of preparations were made. Not to
mention the motion sickness brought by the plane as they arrived few days
before December 4. But this did not hinder them from finishing the race. As Brad
-san told, "This marathon create a new sight, most of the runners were young, it’s
like you’re in a Sinulog parade because of so many runners. There are lots of aid
stations, bundle of DOLE bananas that you can easily grab and daghan gwapa
(but i didnt care!!)"
The excitement and fun, the sense of achievement, the precious
memories of the race- sharing a bond with other
ONBOARD.24
