ON DECK
Starting at her bow, CARINA
has roller furling for her full
Genoa headsail and her staysail.
A Simpson-Lawrence manual
anchor windlass is mounted on
the foredeck. Her main anchor
is a Delta 35 on 75 ft. of chain
rode, spliced to 3/4 “ nylon
rode. The anchor locker also
holds two aluminum propane
tanks. A storage canister sits just
aft of the anchor locker.
Looking aft, a forward hatch
opens to the V berth below. The
Spinnaker can be rigged to the
forward traveler with the Spinnaker pole. The Selden mast is
deck-stepped and has mast steps
to the top. The North Sail
mainsail has three reefing points.
Four dorads provide ventilation
below deck, as well as a center
hatch. A custom-made full Sunbrella awning provides shade.
ON DECK
A Viking 4 man Life Raft is mounted on deck midship. A three section windshield and
hard dodger were factory installed, and the dodger extended to cover the cockpit.
The separate aft cabin opens off the cockpit and has two dorads for ventilation. The main traveler sits at the stern
of the cockpit. A 15 HP Nissan outboard is stowed on the starboard stern rail, with a swinging lift arm to raise
and lower it. The Caribe dinghy is secured on davits and there is a swim ladder on the transom. A Magma Catalina
propane grill sits on the port stern rail. There is a 75 lb. Fisherman’s anchor strapped to the rail for storm use. A
stainless steel antenna array is mounted on the stern, holding GPS, SSB and VHF antennas, and radar dome.

COCKPIT
CARINA’S center cockpit is deep with high, secure coamings. The windshield and hard dodger provide excellent protection from the elements. Heavy duty grab rails and metal reinforced hatchboards are designed to
handle offshore conditions. In line of sight over the main companionway, the instrument panel provides data on
wind, depth, heading and speed. The Furuno display includes radar, GPS and chartplotter, which are interfaced
with the Furuno autopilot. The Bukh 36 HP 3 cylinder diesel inboard engine is directly below the cockpit, with
the teak floor forming a large access door. Throttle controls are next to the compass pedestal. Waterproof
external speakers provide music and 12 volt Hella fans offer ventilation.

BELOW DECK
CARINA’S interior is finished in warm, durable, high quality teak. To starboard at the foot of the companionway steps is the Nav Station. This is the control center of the vessel, with battery switches, 12 volt and shore
power panels, inverter/battery charger controls, VHF and SSB radios, and stereo. A chart locker runs the length
of the station at the back. A pullout seat stows when not in use. For added security there is and interior engine
battery switch.
CARINA’S galley is to port and includes a two burner propane gimbaled stove with oven. The deep sink has
both an electric and manual water pump. The Seafrost Refrigerator, located in the port cockpit locker, is a dual
system, with both engine drive and 110 shore power units, and makes ice in vertical trays. An on-demand propane hot water heater serves both the galley and head. Below the sink is the fresh water flush filter for the Village Marine Watermaker, installed in the starboard cockpit locker. Between the Nav Station and the galley sits
the engine starting battery, below the floor.

water storage tank below the teak
sole. A center table with two folding leaves has storage in the middle. An entertainment center occupies the starboard side. Plenty of
natural light enters via the center
overhead hatch and side ports.
Hella fans provide cooling breezes.
Through the forward door, the
head sits to starboard. It has a
handheld shower, and a Blake &
Taylors porcelain toilet with a
Lavac hand pump. A hanging locker
with shelves is opposite the head.
The V Berth (next page) has a
double berth with a removable
center cushion. There are huge
storage lockers underneath. A
complete set of signal flags is
mounted on the port bulkhead.
There is a separate aft cabin with
double berth, sink, vanity, shelves
and huge storage lockers.
