Setting up POP3 email on Ericsson T68, Sony-Ericsson T68i and Sony-Ericsson T300 Requirements: • A valid ø account, with a subscription to Mobile Web • An Ericsson T68, Sony-Ericsson T68i or Sony-Ericsson T300 • An active POP3 email account and your email provider settings (see Page 4). Steps to complete: 1. Set up ø Mobile Web 2. Set up your email account 1. Setting up ø Mobile Web Press the joystick once to access the main menu. This step may not be necessary if your phone already has a data account called O2 Mobile Web - if it does, go to step 2. 1 Scroll to Connect and press Yes 2 Scroll to Data comm press Yes 3 Scroll to Data accounts press Yes 4 Scroll to Add account and press Yes 5 Select GPRS Data and press Yes 6 7 8 9 10 11 Enter a name for the account – O2 Mobile Web and press Yes Enter the APN as mobile.o2.co.uk and press Yes Enter the User ID as o2web and press Yes Enter the password as password and press Yes Scroll to Save and press Yes (you will see a message telling you that the data account has been saved, and you will then be back in the Data accounts menu) Scroll to the account O2 Mobile Web and press Yes 12 Scroll to Edit and press Yes 13 Scroll to DNS address and press Yes 14 15 Enter the DNS address as 193113200200. The phone will display the numbers as 193.113.200.200. Press Yes Press No 5 times to back to the main menu Page 2 2. Setting up your email account 1 Scroll to Messages and press Yes 2 Select E-mail and press Yes 4 Scroll to Edit account and press Yes 5 Scroll to Add New? and press Yes 6 Enter a name for the account ie. O2 email and press Yes 7 3 12 Enter mail.o2.co.uk and press Yes 13 Scroll to Mailbox and press Yes Refer to the table on page 6 for details of your username. Enter the username exactly as outlined in the table or by your ISP. The username can be no longer than 30 characters. Scroll to Connect using and press Yes 8 Scroll to O2 Mobile Web and press Yes 9 14 Scroll to Protocol and press Yes 10 Scroll to POP3 and press Yes 11 Scroll to Inc. server and press Yes Refer to the table on page 6 for details of your incoming mail server. In this example we are using mail.o2.co.uk @ = 0 key 4 times . = 1 key once Scroll to Options and press Yes Enter your username as required by your provider and press Yes. See the table on page 6 for more help. 15 Scroll to Password and press Yes 16 Enter your password and press Yes 17 18 19 Scroll to Outgoing server and press Yes Enter smtp.o2.co.uk and press Yes Scroll to E-mail address and press Yes Page 3 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 Enter your full email address and press Yes Scroll to Check Interval and press Yes This will determine how often your phone checks for new email. ø suggests this be set to 12 hours (usage charges may apply) Press No twice to back to the Options screen Scroll to Set account and press Yes Scroll to O2 Mobile Web and press Yes Press No 4 times to exit. Using POP3 email 1 Scroll to Messages and press Yes 4 Write New to create new messages 2 Select E-mail and press Yes 3 From here you have the choice of Send & Receive to send and check for new messages and… . If your email provider is not listed here, please contact them directly and ask for the Incoming Mail Server name, and the username format. To use AOL email open Internet Explorer and visit http://www.aol.co.uk (NOT www.aol.com) and login as usual. A separate POP3 password is required. Visit www.demon.net, click on Web Password,then a Web Password Service option,choose a security version, sign in, clickMail, click Enabled in the ‘POP3 mail’ box, enter your new POP3 password, then click Apply. Note that username is the part of the email address that follows the ‘@’ POP3 email access is not provided by FSmail. To use FSmail open Internet Explorer and visit http://fsmail.freeserve.com and login as usual. Use full email address for ‘username’ Username format is user ID (allocated by ISP) POP3 email access is not provided by Hotmail. To use Hotmail open Internet Explorer and visit http://mobile.msn.com and login as usual. N POP3 email access is not provided by Netscape -To use email open Internet Explorer and visit http://www.netscape.net and login as usual. Y Needs to set up a separate POP3 username & password.
