automatically, and analyses and manages the data.

Little equipment needed, any type of usage
Full computerization of the tests is not always possible. The network
infrastructure and the computers may mot be available (sensory
booths without computers, home
use tests) or just not practical
(hall tests with many respondents for example). FIZZ
Forms needs little
equipment (a standard scanner with
sheet feeder in
addition to the computer and printer)
and allows automatic data collection for
any kind of test.
Fast scanning
The questionnaires are read automatically
through the scanner's sheet feeder and answers
are stored sheet by sheet. The results are available immediately after scanning, to be analyzed in
FIZZ.
Like all FIZZ solutions, FIZZ Forms includes everything needed to design your tests, and collect and analyze the data.
Free questionnaire design with combinations
of all types of questions used in sensory and
consumer tests, in any language.
Open questions can be included, and the
corresponding answers can be categorized
later.
Existing elements may be reused and constitute a library of test definitions. Pictures can
also be evaluated and even linked to your
samples. Flexible experimental designs,
sample coding, and labeling.
FIZZ Judges is included to manage your
judges and panels.
All these definition tasks and the form printing can be done on the scanner PC or on
any other FIZZ workstation.
Forms printing
The forms are printed from FIZZ with the
information allowing to identify every sheet.
The use of the forms by the panelists is very
simple:
■ check boxes are simply ticked,
■ line scales must simply contain a pen stroke.
Corrections are possible: another check-
box may be filled darker or a thicker line
may be drawn on the scale. The darkest /
thickest marks will be taken when reading
the form.
Fast and reliable forms scanning
The forms can be read directly. FIZZ knows
exactly where the information to be read is
located on the form: check boxes, scales...
The answers are detected and stored
immediately while scanning the forms,
practically at the nominal speed of the
scanner.
The scanners supported by FIZZ allow reaching scanning speeds above 60 pages
per minute. More regular scanners allow
throughputs of 10 - 15 pages per minute.
Advanced error management
Judge errors on the form are unavoidable.
Problems, if any, are all reported precisely
at the end of the scanning process. The
operator can then take action, for example
correct and rescan the faulty sheet.
Data analysis and management
After reading the answers on the scanner
PC, the answers are ready to be analyzed
on that PC or on other FIZZ PCs.
FIZZ Calculations is included, to offer a
wide choice of analysis tools for sensory
and consumer data:
Graphs (individual, interaction, comparison), difference tests (α and β risks), frequencies, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Ttest, non-parametric tests, and advanced
multivariate methods, including PCA and
Preference Mapping (internal and external).
The integrated database allows monitoring
long-term judge and product performance.
Standard hardware
Scanner PC and other FIZZ stations:
Standard PC under Windows (9x, NT,
2000, XP), SVGA graphics or better.
Printer adapted to the volume of questionnaires planned.
Scanner with ADF (automatic document
feeder), specifications should correspond
to the planned volume of sheets to scan:
HP, Fujitsu and other scanners supported
(see our detailed requirements).
The license allows multiple workstations on
the same site for test preparation, judge
management, and result analysis.
