Fiddling Thomsons July 11: Lively ethnic music from many
backgrounds: cajun, zydeco, bluegrass, Celtic and more. Award winning father and son duo playing twin fiddles, wooden spoons, zydeco
rubboard, and others
Black Velvet Irish Band July 18: Authentic Irish tunes with energy and style. Four singer/instrumentalists performing mandolin,
banjo, accordion, auto harp, drums, guitar, and singing.
Sylvan Roots July 25: Acoustic trio playing well-known and more

Summer Reading Program 2014
Important Dates and Times:
Summer Hours start July 5: Open 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays in
July and August.
July 7 at 6 PM: Kick-Off with The Magic of Science!
One hour interactive performance for children ages 5-12 about the science
used by magicians to perform their tricks. Be ready for the audience to participate! This program is brought to you by a Kids, Books and the Arts grant.*
Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30 AM: First “Fizz Boom Read” storytime for kids ages 3
to 5. Pick up an early literacy activity sheet to complete during the summer!
Tuesday, July 8 at 3 PM: First “Fizz Boom Read” storytime for kids ages 5 to
12. Pick up a reading log to keep a list of what you read over the summer!
Thursday, July 17 at 3 PM: Simple Machines. Develop superhuman strength
through simple machines!
Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30 AM: Bats! Friends in the Night Sky. The Center for
Wildlife from Cape Neddick, Maine presents a program integrating ecology
and natural history about bats, the only flying mammal that uses sonar technology and eats 1000 mosquitoes per hour! Learn more at this interactive
presentation.
Wednesday, August 6 at 6 PM: Pizza and Prizes Wrap-Up Party! Attend our
finale for a chance to win the Grand Prize: a pass for 4 to Water Country!

on Tuesdays at 10 AM for storytimes.

Thursday, July 10: A young inventor
named Lewis travels back in time with
a mysterious stranger.
Thursday, July 24: A college professor
invents an anti-gravity substance and
must protect it from a corrupt businessman. This is a black and white Disney
film.
