Football (go Bears!), nice weather, glorious colors, and the library Arts & Crafts Show are in full swing this October! I’ve been anxiously awaiting to see all of the imaginative items that Mills County residents will bring in to the display at the library. I hope to be inspired by paintings, quilts, woodcarvings, and who knows what else we’ll get to display. Maybe it’ll finally make me go back to the sewing machine and finish a quilt I’ve been working on for the past few years. Teresa and Susanna have teamed up to organize the Arts & Crafts show, and have done a FANTASTIC job! Schools will be involved, there will be FOUR different art demonstrations for adults, and a two-week window for the public to view the great pieces. How exciting! Also getting into full swing this October are our Living Literacy Lab programs. Offerings like Digital Storytime, iPadpalooza, and Teen Video Makers are just a few of the incredible FREE hands-on technology programs we’ll be offering. The Lab will also be open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. for people who want to try out the technology and work on projects. We hope you can participate in our upcoming programs. We’ve had great success with our programming this past month. September has brought us record-breaking attendance through the front doors, and also to our Walking History Tours and our first-ever Between the Wines book discussion. Glenwood is hopping, and we are so happy to be a part of the momentum! ~ Angela Campbell, Director BECOME A FRIEND OF GPL!
