PRESIDENTS REPORT 2015
It’s an honour to present my seventh report as the President of the Maddies Netball Club.
What a year we have had, we fielded 15 teams this year and two of those were junior teams
in the grade 4 competition. We also had 7 inters and 6 seniors teams, all proving to be more
than competitive with a team in every Grand final and this year winning 5 of them.
I would like to congratulate each and every player on their seasons, juniors and inters
especially were very committed to improvement with continual good roll ups to training.
We had several new players register this year and also unearthed some very good new
parent coaches. Thankyou to everyone in the club for making our new players and families
feel welcome and I know that we have all made several new friends.
Again I would like to congratulate the many who gained selection in TNA and ACT
representative teams; we all shared in your success and we hope that it continues into the
future. A very special congratulations to our Maddies players who were selected in the
Darters, you continue to do our club proud.
To those players and families leaving the club this year, and we hope that there aren’t too
many, we wish you all the success in your new clubs or circumstances wherever they might
be and hope to see you back with us in the future.
From our 15 teams, 8 made 8 grand-finals. Of these we won 5, Maddies in Seniors A Grade,
McQueens in Seniors B Grade, Magic in Seniors B1 Grade, Masters in Seniors C Grade
and Maybelaters in Inters Div 2. A real highlight of the season was the performance of our
little junior team the Minions. They had such a great year coming a very good second in
the TNA Grade 4 Green competition. Our little Mini’s team continued to improve all year
and passed many milestones in their development this year by winning their first game in
the last game of the year. We hope to see you all back next year to continue your
development and provide those who watched you play with great joy and pride.
Congratulations to all our teams for outstanding efforts and sportsmanship throughout the
year and in the finals.
I would like to sincerely thank our very energetic and wonderful committee for all their
hard work and dedication to the club and the players. I say this each year but it is truly one
of the best committees that I have had the pleasure to be associated with. You all provide
Maddies with so many hours of dedicated service with organising coaches, umpires and
teams. Making coffee, fundraising, property management, taking minutes, updating web
pages, managing our resources and creating financial statements as well as in some cases
coaching. To be part of the enthusiasm, humour and the obvious friendship that you all
showed again this season made the year a very enjoyable one for me. To you all, thank you
on behalf of the members and the club for your efforts for the year. Maddies can only
continue to prosper with great people such as you in the club. A special thankyou to any of
you who may be thinking of leaving our committee, and there may be a few, your
friendship and hard work for our club will not be forgotten, enjoy your spell and we will
see you back next year.
I would also like to pay a special tribute to our committed team of coaches. It was truly
great to see so many of you have success this year. We struggled at first to attract coaches
but in the end had a very good cross section of new, junior and experienced coaches and it
paid off with great success for our club. A special mention to April and Jamie for jumping
in during the season to take over coaching our Mighty Maddies team, really appreciated
you two adding to your commitment to the club and our players and what a great team
they turned out to be, wonderful effort. I would urge anyone (mums and dads included)
who are thinking about a role as coach in the future to make it known to us and we will
provide development for you and get you started.
I would also like to thank our great many volunteers who willingly gave their time to
assist the teams in areas such as managers and scorers, your continued support is greatly
appreciated. To all those families who participated in our new initiative of rostering teams
onto Saturday duties to share the load, this could not have worked without your
committment and participation. We had some great times together throughout the year and
got to know many people we would not have had the chance to meet, thankyou one and
all.
I would like extend a big thank is our umpires; without you and your commitment, our
players and club could not enjoy the success that we have this year. We lost several of our
more experienced umpires at the end of last year but we welcomed new ones such as Jorja
and Tara and many others stood up as well and took their places. Those who wish to
continue or commence a career in umpiring we will be looking at getting you further
training and development next year so please maintain your enthusiasm for the role over
the summer and we will see you all next season. Once again a very special thankyou to
Jamie Johnson for her leadership in organising our umpires, such a huge task and again
done so wonderfully well.
Lastly I would like to thank David Austin and the St Francis of Assisi Primary School for
their continued support in hosting our presentation day and donating their facilities to
ensure we have a great day.
As President of Maddies Netball Club I have again enjoyed your friendship and support
throughout the season and I look forward to seeing you all back again for season 2016.

Coaches –
Hannah Beissner & Lizzie Elliott
Manager – Lynette Flanagan
Aaliyah Donoghoe
Aaliyah started the season off very quietly by putting her best foot forward whenever she
stepped out on the court. Aaliyah is a very talented and skilled shooter who is always willing
to take a shot no matter where she is in the circle. She showed great attendance to both
training and games all season. As the season progressed, she used her time at training to
expand on her skills and put that into the games. You had an awesome season this year and
we are so excited to continue next year.
Clair Bodorkos
Clair was a very strong player this season. She was always chasing any loose balls she saw
and had the determination to keep going no matter what. Clair was our little pocket rocket of
the Minis. Although she had a few stumbles in games, she always got back up with a huge
smile on her face knowing she had done the team proud. She was always up for a challenge
and gave everything a try whether it was at training or during a game. You had a wonderful
season Clair, go hard or go home.
Faith Colman
Faith had a fantastic season for her first year of netball. She adapted well to the sport and
made many new friends in her team. Faith had so much determination to win every game
knowing that we had a lot of goals to catch up on. We had many laughs with Faith this
season both on and off the court. She was one of our key centre court players and defenders.
From our first training session to the minute she stepped on court and played her first game,
we could see that she was an outstanding player. Keep up the awesome work Faith.
Jordan Goodwin
Jordan! Where do we start? Such an awesome job this season! Your determination and
positivity shone through every game. You are one of our wonderful centre court and
defenders who is never afraid to give anything a go! You have so much confidence and are
Jessica Schiwy
Although Jess was one of the quieter girls in our team, she still had a lot to prove on court.
Jess had a fantastic first season with Maddies and always gave trainings and games 110%.
She had an awesome transition from defence to attack and these are the skills that will kickstart her netball career. Her shooting and centre court skills were pretty impressive
considering it was her first season of netball. You have excellent pride in representing the
Minis this season and we are so proud. Great season Jess can’t wait for next year.
Skye Wells
Skye was one of our defending legends this year, although she didn’t want to be put in
defence, she accepted it and played her little heart out. Her positive attitude and smile on
court was enough to lift the spirits of everyone on court and put in all the effort she had left.
She was unstoppable in the circle with Sophie and Jordan. She was always willing to learn
new skills and techniques at training and give everything a go. It was great to see how much
determination you had this season Skye, keep up your brilliant defence work.
Chelsea Harris
Chelsea was such a strong player this year. Ever since the first game she had loads of
confidence and always played to the best of her ability. She was also one of our key attackers
this year, and the star shooter of our very first goal. You have improved so much and we are
very proud to have you as a part of our team! Awesome job this season Chels, can’t wait for
next year, keep it up!
Sophie Mills
Sophie was one of our key defenders this year. Her height was an asset but her skills were
what made the magic happen. Sophie, you are such a keen player with plenty of enthusiasm.
You always turned up bright and early on Saturday mornings with a huge smile on your face
ready to take the court and give it your all. Fantastic effort this season Soph, looking forward
to next year!
Cienna Ranatunga
Wow, what a great season Cienna! You have so much talent and such a drive for netball. Your skills have improved so much throughout the season and for that you are commended.
Your ability to be an all round netball player is one to be very proud of. You were always
eager and ready for any position you were allocated, as well as doing such a fabulous job!
Great season Cienna, nice work!
Thailah Flannagan-Barrett
Excellent job this season Thailah! Your encouragement on and off the court was fabulous to
see! You were always up for a challenge and gave every position a go! It was great to see
your level of improvement throughout the season and how you grew as a player. We are so

Manager – Jodie Garrity
Kelsey Flanagan-Barrett
Kelsey you have continued to grow this year like I couldn’t believe. You are an amazing
player and always show great team spirit. You also can transition to any position I put you in
and you always play your hardest. You are amazing on and off the court and always put in
all your effort at training sessions. I truly hope I have the pleasure of coaching you again next
year. I love watching you grow into a Diamond.
Cheyenne Booth
What a pleasure it has been coaching my VERY cheeky Chey Chey. This year was your first
year with the Minions and I hope to see you back next year. You are a truly strong and
confident player, and you fitted right into the team. You are a great player who can transition
to any position on the court and you always push yourself to your full potential. I really
enjoyed coaching you this year Chey Chey, you always knew how to make me laugh. Love
you Girl.
Yayai Aboy
Yayai you have been an absolute pleasure to coach. This year you have grown into such a
great netball player. Your confidence is growing and all the effort and work you have put
into your game is really shining through. This year we discovered your shooting skills, and
the way you have learnt to move and offer around and in the goal circle is truly amazing to
watch.
Angelina Costa
Oh how I love coaching my future diamond. Our 3rd year together as coach and player, and I
truly love watching you grow and develop so many skills. Your dedication, confidence and
skills on the court with the bigger girls truly inspires me. Can’t wait for you to be wearing
Shayla Dyer
My little speedy mouse. It has been a pleasure coaching you this year. Your first year being a
part of the Minions and we loved having you as part of the team. You are our little speedy
devil, our little ball snatcher and you can jump like Michael Jordan. You are always making
us parents on the side line laugh with your cheeky snatching skills and that grin of yours.
You are a confident and strong player and you always offer your support to your team
mates.
Cooper Garrity
A great year for our man of the team and sadly our last with you. We have had a great two
years with you Cooper. You are naturally talented and always putting in 110% at our games
and sometimes a little too much pressure on yourself. You are one of our top shooters and
superstars and you will be greatly missed next year and VERY hard to replace. I hope you
find a new netball team in QLD that are as awesome as us.
Mackenzie Kerry
This year was Mackenzie’s first year with the Minions. Her first game on the court with us
earned her “player of the match” and not only voted by myself BUT team mates as well.
Mackenzie you have continued to grow and develop into a strong little player and I adore
your dedication on the court. I hope to see you back next year.
Charlotte Popple
Charlotte you are always a pleasure coach. You are one of our strongest defenders (that may
be because mum is always pushing you or because you have a great coach) and you have
great team spirit. You play well with all your team mates and always play your hardest and
the best game you can. You put in 110% at trainings as well as games and watching you grow
from last year has been truly amazing.

her. Ebony is a great attack player who always proves tough competition for the opposition.
Ebony was always committed to learning at training and at games.
Jade Lewis
Jade joined as one of the quieter members of the Monkeys. Jade is a great shooter who
moves around the circle well. She uses her skill to get around the taller players that came
her way. Jade would play well with anyone in the circle with her. Jade is a great player who
was committed and played her best all season.
Alli Bruce
Alli is a fun and reliable member of the team. She is enthusiastic both at training and
games. Her versatility on court enabled us to put in her in both attack and defence in centre
court. Alli always tries her hardest and achieved fantastic results throughout the season.
Kellee Aviga-Williams
Kellee is a great GK who can read the shooter’s play and positions herself well. Kellee
always did well to get rebounds and intercepts and always tried her hardest on court. Kellee
always worked well to keep her team in the game and gave her best all season.
Shawna Gray
Shawna has been a fun, loud and confident member of the team. Shawna has a strong pass
and is a versatile player that played well in both defence and attack. Shawna is a great all
round player who plays a strong centre court game and was always willing to play
whatever position she was given.
Mikayla Tattersall

the other shooters. Mikki is a great player who always gave 100% at training and the
games.

always willing to play wherever she was needed and gave her best all season.

Bella is a little terrier who has incredible levels of energy at both training and at games. Bella is a strong defender who had great movement around the court. As a defender she
showed great aggression on court and put the opposition under pressure giving our team
many turnovers. Bella always gave 110% at training and at the games.

Angela was new to the game of netball this year. Angela picked up the basic skills of
netball well during the season and it was great to watch her improve her skills during the
course of the season. Congratulations on your first season Ange.
Monsters
Runners Up Inters Div 4
Coaches – Kim & Neven Ranatunga
Manager – Tash Barrenger
Tijana Ranatunga
Tijana is a dour defender who will not give her opponent an inch. She will throw herself at the
ball to make sure her opponent does not have an opportunity to get possession and on one
occasion almost took a specky any AFL player would have been proud of. Intercepting is her
specialty, she just comes from nowhere. If she is defending against you, you might as well throw
the towel in and go home.
Layne Wyeth
There is no position this girl can’t play. She has speed, agility, power and netball smarts. She can
see the game unfolding in front of her and uses her ability to anticipate the play to intercept the
ball and run to position. She’s always smiling, positive and encourages the team. Layne is a
player all coaches love, with her versatility, positive attitude and netball smarts.
Allyssa Megalli
Allyssa is a quick, smart, agile shooter who uses her speed to dart around the court and make the
play. She has netball smarts and is able to bring others into the game. Allyssa is great at attacking
and works just as hard to defend making her very difficult to match up on. When you match up
on Ally, you know you’re in for a hard day.
Brooklyne Corby
Brooklyne came into the team part way into the season and it wasn’t long before we knew we
had a hard working player that defends hard and attacks quickly. Brooklyne will play anywhere
the team needs her and will do it with a smile. Brooklyne positions herself well and puts herself
between her opponent and the ball making it really difficult for her opponents to know where to
Dakota Farrell-Wood
Dakota is such a team player, always putting what she wants or likes aside and just plays where
she is needed. Dakota is a versatile player that can play any position on the court. She has a
determination and attitude that constantly blew us away and this helped her to beat her
opponent no matter where she played. Dakota always has a smile on her face and makes sure
that all her team mates are just as happy. She defends really hard and brings several players into
the game when she attacks. When you play on Dakota, you know you’re going to have to work
really hard to get the ball.
Charni Palmer
Charni is a shooter that very rarely misses. Once she spins that ball on her shooting hand, you
might as well reset for the next centre pass because she’s just not going to miss. Charni works
hard around the court making her defender work hard to defend her. She has a positive attitude
and great determination to succeed. Charni is a leader who all the players look up to and will do
anything for a Mars bar.
Bianca Hefferman
Never a complaint and always smiling - Bianca is a hard working defender who loves to make it
difficult for shooters around the net. Bianca positions herself well and makes the shooters work
hard to get the ball. Bianca has a big heart and is a real team player. She will play in positions
that she is not used to if that is what the team needs of her.
Emma Flick Booth
Silent but deadly, this girl can work the ring. Whether she’s shooting or defending, she doesn’t
make much noise but you know she will win over her opponent. Emma is a quiet, hardworking
and positive player who rarely gets beaten. She works hard as a defender and will not give an
inch. When Emma plays as a shooter she works just as hard and rarely misses her shots.
Natalia Dyer
The silent assassin. She is tiny with a beautiful smile, butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth but she
will kill you on the court. She is quick and never ever stops running! Her opponents didn’t know
what they were up against with this cute little assassin. Natalia works hard on the court and
runs all day. She defends really well and attacks just as hard. Off the court Natalia always has a
smile on her face and a really positive attitude. What she loses in height he makes up for with
speed, agility and a real drive to win.
Ashlyn Jones
If you can’t see her you will definitely hear her. Often when players couldn’t see someone to
pass to Ashlyn’s voice would come over the top screaming for the pass. Throw it towards the
voice and you can be sure that Ashlyn will get that ball. Ashlyn kept the team laughing and

Jordie began as one of the quieter members of the Misfits and was relatively new to the game of
netball. Jordie picked up the skills for netball well during the season and found her strength in
the centre court. Jordie was always willing to play whatever position she was given. It was
fabulous to watch Jordie improve her skills during the season.
Natasha Randall

every game. Tash is a great team player, always doing her best to keep the team in the game.
Hannah Edwards

Elise Nunn
Elise you have continued to grow into a strong netball player. You are a top shooter, and a fit
little centre. The way you move around the court and offer to your team mates is truly
inspiring. You are amazing on and off the court and always put in all your effort at training
sessions.
Tjanara Booth
TJ you are a truly strong and confident player (like we need to tell you that). You are one of
our strongest defenders and you always push yourself (even when you are injured) to your
full potential. You are always there for back up to your team mates, and you play every
game like it’s your last. We really enjoyed coaching you this year.
Tarneaka Malone
Tarneaka you have been an absolute pleasure to coach. You are one of the hardest working
players on court, providing attacking and defending skills all the way down that court. Your
confidence on and off the court is truly amazing to watch.
Kellee Aviga-Williams
Kellee it was a pleasure coaching you this season. You always put in 110% at trainings and
on the court. You always show great team spirit and always push yourself to play your
hardest. We love watching you play.
Lataya Booth
What a shooter this girl is. She puts up all the shots and is up for every rebound. Lataya
has great confidence on and off the court. Unfortunately, Lataya injured her knee towards
the middle of the season, but she still turned up to every game to support her team and
fortunately for us made it back for semis.
Mikayla Tattersall
It has been a pleasure coaching you this year Mikki. You are always committed to your
team mates whether at a game or training. You are a player who can transition to any
position we need on the court and you always play your hardest.
Teagan Arnold
Teagan you always play your hardest whether it’s the preliminary finals or just a game
during the season. Your shooting skills are amazing, and the way you move and offer
around the circle is perfect. We have truly loved watching you play your little heart out
this year.
Maggie Farrell
Maggie you are a very strong defender BUT who knew you were an amazing attacker too?
What a shame we only discovered this in the last couple of weeks of the season. You play
such a strong game in WA and know just when to give that ball into your shooters. You
always push yourself as hard as you can in the defence end whilst encouraging your team

Alli Bruce
Alli, you have had a great season. You were very consistent and improved throughout the
season. You always encourage your team mates which is nice to see. A great little
midcourter who can switch it on and switch between WD and WA. It’s been a pleasure
coaching you.
Lilly Kennett
Lilly is our little pocket rocket who always has a smile on her face. Definitely the shortest
in the team but that never stops her. She drives straight into that attacking end, feeds
beautifully from the circle and is always working hard.

Adelaide Quayle
Adelaide is seemingly one of the quiet ones, but don’t be fooled! Behind the unassuming exterior
and disarming smile is a young lady who can size up an opportunity and move like lightning to
grab the space she needs to position herself for a shot. Her shooting is reliable, she brings a
settled mood to our offensive circle and is a player that everyone loves having on the team.
Alexandra Glew
As one of the co-captains, Alex led the team by example, talkative on court and dynamic in the
attacking circle. Our most prolific shot-putter-upper, Alex’s enthusiasm is infectious and helped
inspire the team to many come-from-behind wins. Alex can be serious when she needs to be, but
this is fortunately not very often, because her laughter and her smile lights up everyone around
her.
Allison Manuel
Ally is the type of player you just love to have on the team because you know she will never give
up. Although she had a season disrupted by injuries, Ally could play in just about any position
and would always give 110%. Ally’s positive attitude and boundless energy grabs everyone and
inspires them to lift their own game.
Amy Walker
Amy has been one of our rocks in the defensive end of the court. While she started the
season quietly, Amy has learned a heap throughout the season. From learning to jump while
rebounding (thanks to her brother for the assist on this!) to anticipating intercepts, to
directing traffic from the back of the court, Amy has had a great year. Maybe we’ll work on
her shooting next season ;)
Claire Egan
Claire has speed to burn and reads a game really well. Mainly the Centre for the team, we
often asked Claire to play in the defensive circle when we needed a little bit more height; a
challenge she always accepted happily. Claire’s positivity and determination were vital
factors throughout the season when we needed to turnaround a half-time deficit.
Emily Carroll
Emily is another of the quiet achievers in the team. She always has a positive word and a
smile for her team mates, and on the court is a picture of concentrated energy seeking the
gaps in the defence that she can exploit. Emily is an asset in attack or centre court who her
team-mates know can be relied upon to put in when the team needs a lift.
Liana Klishin
Liana is another young lady who reads a game really well. Whether it’s ‘just’ being in the
right spot for an intercept, or finding space away from her defender when we have the ball,
Liana has that happy knack of knowing where she needs to be on the court to have an
impact. Liana also has an infectious smile and a great sense of humour, which keeps her
team mates in a great frame of mind.
Sarah Cameron
Sarah is another of the quiet achievers, but with a wicked sense of humour. On court, though
Sarah is all business. A versatile centre court player, Sarah can snuff out an opposition attack,
offer support when it is really needed, and has learnt to put up an awesome lob for the
shooters. Sarah is always keen to learn and apply her new skills on court.
Sheona Pollard
Sheona is one of the team co-captains and another of the defensive rocks in the team. Don’t
be fooled by her lack of height as her ability to leap and pluck a ball from the air is
reminiscent of Liz Ellis! Sheona also reads a game well, controlling the play from the
defensive circle, and is always a contributor throughout the game, right down to her gameday Pink and Blue hair.

Georgia Bauer
Georgia is an outstanding netball player that brings a great atmosphere to the court.
Every word of advice she tells anyone, is always helpful and creates a better game.
Over anyone else, you will hear her voice from the other side of the court cheering the girls
on.
Rarely would you see her give attitude to the opposite team.
G is always on the ball with rebounds and intercepts.
Intimidating with her tallness, but uses it to her best potential.
Always a great attitude on, and off the court, and always a great friend!
Shweta Venkataraman
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everywhere, wonderful is what I feel when we're
together.
Here we are at the end of another great season
Wow you get such good rebounds.
Excellent, easy-going, energetic, explosive, eager, electrifying, exotic, enthusiastic.
The funniest and nicest girl around.
All in all you are pretty great!
Lizzie Elliot
Little ha that doesn't mean anything to you.
Interesting how someone so small can jump so high to collect rebounds.
Zooming throughout the court always an option and ready to re-offer
Zig-Zagging throughout the circle ready for a quick pass before you take your shot which
you very rarely miss.
Idealised by not only your team mates but also your opponents.
Extraordinary player and overall a great person to be around!
Taylah Megalli
Tall Taylah always gets the rebounds.
Accuracy is easy for Taylah.
You know when Taylah’s on fire because she'll be popping those goals in.
Long legs are one of Taylah’s assets, reaching and stretching for the ball never giving up
until the chase is over.
Always giving 100% Taylah achieves her best.
Having Taylah on the team this year was a delight, she is a strong consistent player who
strives to be the best!
Sophie Kelly
Super star centre, but can play anywhere she is needed.
Obviously amazing at keeping her player away from the ball at any time.
Pulls in intercept after intercept all the way down the court no matter how tired she is.
Has a superb front cut in her bag of netball tricks.
Is the #1 dance queen of the team.
Encourages the team like a star every single week!
Grace Marron
Gmaz the one and only netty superstar pulling the ball in from everywhere.
Ripper runner running down the other teams no matter who we are up against.
Amazeballs attacker with a matching bubbly personality.
Courageous, confident and catty (aka pretzel).
Extra energetic especially when eyeing off your player!
Kimberley Fehringer
Kind and a killer player.
Impressive player at all times and intuitive on court.
Mad defending skills with a motivated manner.
Bold player that is a beast when she has the ball.
Energetic nature with epically awesome intercepts.
Reliable and able to rip up the court in any game.
Lively and a great leader on and off the court.
Easy to talk to and always engaged in the session.
You are a good egg!
Gabriella Hardie
Great team player, always there for support on and off the court.
Absolute shooting machine.
Best ever on court when it comes to helping out in attack.
Believer of all things positive, and always willing to take on challenges.
Incredible accuracy and ability to keep calm even when the pressure is on!.
Exceptionally CRAZY all the times, on and off court!
Hayley Thompson
Hey, how’s it going? Here’s a poem about the amazing netballer Hayley!
All you need to do is touch the Earth then reach for the sky. You can challenge the future
if you try! So reach high and let your spirits fly, you don’t know what you can do until
you try!
Yelling is your speciality, you aren’t afraid to tell us what to do on court and it helps a lot.
Love how you can get so many intercepts each game.
Even manage to play through injuries when we need you.
Yeah, you’re pretty important to our team, very awesome!
Maddison Banks
Moves down the court easily escaping her player.
And is always running back and forth non-stop with her never ending energy.
Doesn’t give up, no matter what game we’re playing or who we are playing against.
Dedicated to the team and does so much for us on and off court.
Is always boosting the team spirit.
Every single pass is like a bullet!

Maggie Alexander
Maggie was new to our team this year and she was a great addition. I’m sure she played nearly
every position on the court as she told me she didn’t have a favourite position! When she was
in the defence circle, her tight one-on-one defence always resulted in a tip or intercept and
when she was running around in the centre court she was there to help whether it was hands
around the circle or as a backup option down the court. Good Season Mags, we have loved
having you on the team.
Georgia Austin
Georgia seemed to be more confident on the court this season and was more determined to
pull in those loose balls. She was also quick with transition in both attack and defence and was
able to find her player and use close one-on-one defensive pressure. George was able to
combine with the other mid-court players to create pressure when defending and when
attacking to deliver the ball effectively. Wonderful season Han, I mean George ☺
Hannah Beissner
Hannah is another lovely mid-court player who is the link between the defence third and goal
third. Her speed around the court allows her to move both the ball and herself to the circle
edge and make it look like she has been standing there the whole time. She knows how to
work the circle and places the ball where her shooters want it. You’ve had a really good season
George, I mean Han ☺ .
Madeline Bennett
Maddy is a strong attacking player who is able to position herself on the circle edge to
feed an effortless ball into the shooters and then position herself in gaps to take difficult
intercepts in defence. She plays all centre court positions with ease and is able to link
play from the defence third to the goal third. In defence she sticks tight to force the drop
ball and is quick to gain control and work it down to the shooters. Another great season
Mads.
Amber Brophy
Amber is a lovely player to watch. She has a natural ability to read the play and move
around the court to open up space for either herself to drive into or for one of her team
mates. She works hard in defence to pressure the pass with her long arms and often
pulls in an intercept or two. Amber, you have had a wonderful season and we look
forward to watching you go above and beyond with your netball.
Charlotte Egan
Charli is an important part of our defence line up. Her one-on-one defence is strong
throughout the court and her ability to react and deflect the ball made it difficult for the
attacking team to feed the ball into the circle. Charli was always available to help in
getting the ball out of the defence end and our attackers could always rely on her for
back up at the transverse line. Thank you for never complaining about being put in the
circle and always giving it 110%.
Alexandra Immonen
This season Alex swapped her shooting bib for a defence one and became one of our
main defenders. She is a strong defender who is aware of what is happening out in
front and her communication enabled her to take intercepts and create turn overs. Al is
also extremely strong bringing the ball out of defence and being a second option. You
have had a wonderful season in the defence end Al and you will only get better from
here (you’re pretty good already). Head up and keep working hard.
Abbey Jameson
Abbey works her butt off and puts every ounce of effort into her game, not only in attack
but also in defence down the court. This has paid off for her as she pulls in multiple
intercepts. Poor Abbey copped a lot more yelling from me on the sideline this season as I
tried to push her as much as I could, I believe she can do anything. You are a wonderful
player Abs and we love watching you, keep going, you can do it!
Paraskevi Notaras
Paras is another exciting player to watch, she can shoot a goal from anywhere in the
circle and often over the arms of much taller defenders. She is extremely accurate and
her agility around the goal circle makes her difficult to defend. Paras reads the play very
well and knows when to either hand the shot off to a taller shooter, use the girls around
the circle or clear out as an option after a rebound. Great season Paraskevi, keep using
that front space it works well for you ☺
Jesse Lee Regan
Jesse was the other wonderful addition to our team this year and she gave us some extra
depth in the goal circle. Jesse is a strong shooter who has the ability to take passes under
tough defensive pressure and would then use the girls around the circle edge to get
herself in a better position to put the shot up. It was great to see you in the pink and blue
Jesse and hope you had a great time in the team, we loved having you!

Rebecca Schenk
Rebecca is a very dynamic player on the court, directing play and creating opportunities at
every turn. Her two handed intercepts are something to see. She has a fierce determination that
is only matched by her passion and love of the game. Rebecca is quick and creative with her
passing. Her hard work and encouragement at the top of the circle, converting to scores on the
board.
Kathryn Hughes
Kathryn is a shooting superstar. She works the circle with ease, her drives are fluid and
effortless. She has great special awareness within the circle complimented by strong passes and
exceptional shooting skills. Kathryn can score a goal from anywhere and is always ready for
the rebound if needed. She works tirelessly with the C and WA to move the ball through the
centre and goal thirds, always offering a variety of leads.
Lauren Gum
Gregarious is a word that comes to mind when you think of Lauren. Her enthusiasm and
passion are second to none. Lightening quick to get her hands over the ball at every
opportunity. She has a keen eye for spotting an open player on court which is usually followed
by her signature one-handed lob. Lauren's willingness and flexibility to play any position
make her an invaluable asset to the team.
Aimee Baker
Aimee has solid passing and collecting skills as a key player in the mid court. She creates
numerous goal scoring opportunities for the shooters by positioning herself strategically on
the circle controlling and feeding the ball. Aimee has the ability to open up space on court
through good footwork focusing on attacking strategies. Always smiling Aimee is an
integral part of the 'Masters' team.
Kimberley Fehringer
Kim is a vibrant and energetic player who brings a youthful dynamic to the team. Her quick
reflexes combined with her agility result in intercepts and turnovers in the goal circle. She
has good timing and reliable passing to drive the ball strongly down the court. Kim is
always open and willing to play any position when called upon from defence to shooting
which she can transition effortlessly between.
Rachel Macaulay
Rachel missed a few games mid competition through injury but hit form and fitness at the
right end of the season. Rachel is an instinctive defender. As the last line of defence she is
ever watchful of what is happening out front anticipating play resulting in turnover after
turnover, never afraid to contest play. Rachel has great communication and is always there
with attacking moves to take the ball back down the court.
Amy Bartush
Amy is one of the quieter players on the team but don't let this fool you. One of our mid
court specialists, Amy's agility and prowess results in a tight defence, intercepts and
attacking leads. She is always ready to pick up any tips or deflections created by the circle
defenders. Amy is an asset in the mid court swapping positions where needed to support
and assist with changes in play.
Georgia Bauer
Georgia has exceptional intercept and rebound skills that together with her youth and
enthusiasm make her unstoppable. She reads and anticipates changes in play resulting in
turnovers through strong body positioning. Georgia is multi-skilled and can move freely
between defence and attack when needed. Georgia is always there to assist with transition
and movement of the ball down the court.
Lisa-Anne Charles
Lisa's defence on court is tight, applying pressure consistently with excellent 'hands over the
ball' defence, forcing errors. Moving freely between attack and defence Lisa is happy to play
any position when called upon supporting her teammates with one-on-one defence and
attacking moves. Although Lisa was absent for the finals she was instrumental in helping the
team finish top of the ladder.
Virginia Warnock
Virginia, affectionately known to many as ‘Ginny’ is a pivotal player for the Maddies Masters
team. Easily transitioning from a centre court to a shooting position, Ginny’s friendly and
welcoming nature makes her a pleasure to join the court with each week. Ginny is well
known for her ‘grasshopper like’ shooting style and zippy attacking plays around the goal
circle. When in centre court, Ginny is always there as support for other team members and is
competitive in every game.

Laura King
It’s easy to see that Laura enjoys her netball. She is a consistent hard worker. She reads the play
well and creates many tips and turnovers for the team whilst playing GD and GK. She has a
good netball head and offers ideas to the team. Set her a challenge for the number of turnovers
you want her to achieve and she will do it often exceeding the goal set for her. I love watching
her play.
Gracie Collins
This girl is like an ever ready battery. She can play the whole game at Centre, no problem at all.
She is always an option for her team to pass to. She’s agile and fit and has a good netball head on
her shoulders. I guess the only downside for Gracie is that her team mates often can’t keep up
with her. Nice season Gracie.
Briar Gardiner
Briar joined the team early in the season when she moved to Australia from New Zealand. Not
really knowing any of the team, she has been a quiet achiever. She likes to play in at WD and
does a good job. She has great hands over ball with amazing balance. Briar, it has been a pleasure
to have you in the team and I hope you have enjoyed the season.
Nicole Wadwell
Nicole is a mid-court player usually playing either WD or WA, however when required she
can step into the circle and shoot some great goals. Nicole keeps a fairly low key on court
but when she’s hot, she can achieve some really good turnovers. With Nicole, I feel her
game is very dependent on her energy levels. There have been many 18th parties for the
girls in the team this year and we won’t mention her own, hey Nicole. Haha Niamh Carew
I have really enjoyed having Niamh in the team this season. She is a talented shooter and
determined player. Anything I suggest to Niamh to try, she takes on board and gives it a
go. She possesses good netball skills and works well both in the circle and throughout the
court. Nice work Niamh and don’t forget to bend your knees!
Sharniesha Booth
Sharniesha is also new to the team this year. She is a mid-court player at WA or WD. Her
game is also dependent upon how energetic she is feeling on the day. She has great strength
in her passes. She seems to glide along the court rather than run which looks rather
smooth, although at times it goes against her as the umpires ping her for stepping. Of
course they are wrong!
Jessica Wagg Jess is our utility player and can play in either circle as well as mid court. Jess does a good
job settling our shooters especially at the beginning of the game. She is a good attacking
player and can also achieve some great intercepts. I enjoy watching her play as I can see
how much she has developed over the years.
Ruby Alexander
Poor Ruby is the only member of the team who has wanted to train all season. She always
gives 100% on court. Ruby is a shooter and I find that Ruby is stuck with old habits and
although she wants to play differently, when she gets in the circle the old habits kick in.
This year we really haven’t been able to get our GA and GS to complement each other
which is a shame. I have tried to show Ruby different techniques in the circle but without
training I feel that she is having trouble putting them into play. Keep your mind open Ruby
and keep trying new techniques. You are a talented player; you just have to keep working
on those circle movements. Hayley Thomson Hayley is another utility player and it’s always good to have these players on your team. She
plays great mid court and also plays a great circle defender. When playing in at Centre she
settles the team into smooth court play connecting one end of the court to the other. Due to
injury of other players, she has had to assist as GD or GK quite a lot throughout the season
but she never complains, she just gets on with the job. She also plays in Inters, so 9 times out
of 10 she will have already played a game before her Seniors game and she still goes hard.
Nice work Hayley.
Taleta Booth
Not having seen Taleta play before I didn’t know what to expect from her game. Well I
certainly wasn’t disappointed. Although she has shown that she can shoot, she is an
awesome circle defender. She reads the play well and pulls in many turnovers and just as
many tips. Thanks Taleta you have had a great season.

she was going to fit in well and be an extremely valuable asset. Her versatility and

best of her ability with no hesitation. As one of our shooters Jesse would never cease to

Lucy Schroeder
Lucy has been a great new addition to our team this season. Her bright and bubbly

She has had a spectacular season in defence and we wish her the best in all of her future

Lauren Jameson
Lauren, you have been an integral player in our team. Your organisation off the court meant
that we were always able to get on the court, and your keen coaching eye meant that we
have all improved over the season. On the court, your skill in the mid court adds stability
Megan Klomp
Meg is a very energetic girl on and off the court. She's always lifting the team with her great sense of

Thank you once again for a fabulous season girl!
Dana Warnock
Dangerously skilled on the netball court!
Awesome to work with in the shooting circle! We make a fabulous team.

Accurate as the professionals! You score so many goals every game!
Grace Kelly
Grace has been a very valuable member of the McQueens team this season. Her attitude both on and
off the court was always positive and she put in 100% effort every game, resulting in many good
passages of play. She is always encouraging her teammates and it has been a pleasure to play with
Grace this season, and what I hope to be many more.
Alexandra Immonen
Lexi you beauty! Where would our team be without you? Your defence has been amazing throughout
the season as well as both your centre court and shooting work as you have turned into an allrounder! You work so well in the team and bring so much positivity each week. You have been a great
player both on and off the court. We are so glad to have had you in the team this year!
Monique Cook

As shooter this season there weren’t many points that Amber missed. Her agility around the
court and ability to create options in the circle were instrumental in our team having so many
wins. Amber has a great reach and was nearly always able to out jump her defenders for the
rebound ball.
Amber Carige
Amber showed great determination as a shooter this season. Being the shortest shooter in the
team and often at a height disadvantage to the defenders, Amber instead used her speed and
agility to her advantage. Amber read the play of the ball really well and was always able to
manoeuvre herself into position with speed and agility to receive the ball.
Olivia White
Olivia was our most versatile player this season. She was able to shoot and move well
around the circle to create options and at the same time be aggressive enough to defend and
zone out her opponents at the opposite end of the court as a defender. Olivia read the play of
Tara Ward
Tara played shooter this season and held her cool exceptionally well under pressure. She
shot the best when it was on the fly and from the most awkward position. Her style of
shooting was effortless and her shooting got better as the season went on.
April Dunn
April played an attack game this season in the centre court and played a huge role in
feeding the ball to our shooters. There weren’t many centre passes that April wasn’t able to
break free for and always positioned herself well on the circle for the feeder passes to the
shooters.
Abbey Jameson
Abbey was the continuity that kept our attack and defence together this season. She kept
the ball flowing through the centre court seamlessly and had the ability to be everywhere
when needed. She was always there for the circle rebound in defence and had great vision
for feeding the ball into the circle in attack.
Shweta Venkataraman
Shweta played a beautiful defence game this season. She had the ability to zone really well
and the speed to switch between shooters when needed. Her constant encouragement and
talking to the defenders was invaluable as the season evolved.
Kim Pollard
Our little pocket rocket was everywhere. Kim had the speed to out run anyone and would
often just pop up out of nowhere and intercept the ball. A huge asset through the centre
court, her speed and agility were a huge asset this season.
Emma Shafer
Always smiling and always happy, Emma has the most amazing hold and was
instrumental as our Keeper all year round. Her ballet skills as a young child clearly paid off
as Emma has the magic combination of height, unwavering balance and the longest arms
that often afforded her the rebounds of the ball in defence.
Felicity Carman
Felicity has stepped up this year in her first year of playing for Maddies Club in taking on

beneficial for the team this season and has played a crucial part in the improvement of the

her game and help her to lose her player quickly and efficiently. Her clear drives to circle

general are on point all the time! There are never any mistakes! I have loved playing with

Danielle Crimmins
Ellie is a strong and confident player who can play in any position and play it well. She is
loud on and off court, and encourages the other players to try their hardest and push a little
bit further. If someone is tired or wants to change positions, she will step up and take that
position and play it to the best of her ability. Ellie is a team player and an asset to our team.
Dana Holloway
Dana is a person that is easy to get along with on and off the court. Joining the team, she has
made me feel welcome and I enjoyed playing alongside her. She has great knowledge of the
game and positions herself well on the court when playing attack or defence. Dana comes
across quiet but I’m sure she is a very social person. She is a very skilled player and her and
her family are a great asset to the team and to the Maddies Netball Club.
Jorja Muscio
Jorja was a new addition to our team this year and quickly gained respect from us and her
opponents as a high quality defensive netballer. Jorja gives everything she's got to every
quarter she plays and is always trying her hardest to get the ball back for our team, never
giving up until the other team has scored. She often puts her body on the line to pull off
seemingly impossible intercepts that are incredible to watch and never cease to amaze! Jorja is
very encouraging and always challenges the team to rise when we aren't playing to our full
potential. She never uses things such as horrible weather as an excuse to not do her best and
our team has definitely benefited from her positive attitude. Congrats on a superb season!
Stephanie Jameson
Steph Jamo has been a huge asset to our crazy team this year! Steph’s natural ability in the
shooting circle is what helped get us through most games! Steph has amazing ball skills and
was a very encouraging player to be around. Steph was always there to give us positive
feedback and was a great leader in the team. Steph was awesome to play with and had a
blinder of a season! Well done Jamo, you are fabulous!
Sarah Norton
Sarah is not only a great addition to Maddies but a great addition to the Medusas. Sarah is a
dynamic player who slotted into the circle rotation with ease. With her accuracy of her long
shots and agility to beat any defender whether she was playing shooter or centre court, Sarah
was a tough opponent for anyone. Although not the loudest on court you could always trust
her to be open when play got stuck. Congrats on an awesome first season with us, can't wait
to take the court with you again next year.
Beth Dixon
Beth's ability to work with different defenders inside the circle has made her an asset to our
team. Her ability to communicate within the circle as well as her speed and agility make her a
beautiful defender. Beth's transition between defence and attack cannot be floored. She is
always available moving the ball down the court and is always available even as a last resort.
Her physical flexibility and extension through her arms is what makes Beth a unique player.
She is able to move around her player well and somehow always seems to come out with the
ball. It has been a pleasure working and playing with Beth this season.
Chelsea Holloway
How lucky we are to have a player and a friend like Chelsea on our team. Her ability to adapt
to any attack position is truly admirable, and yes she can play in defence as well, not that she
will admit it. Outside the circle Chelsea is outstanding at keeping possession and passing the
ball across the centre and goal. Inside the circle her ability to play GA, scoring and setting up
goals and feeding to the GS is solid and skilled. Playing as a Shooter she is precise and sharp,
Sanna Pedro
Sanna was new to our team this year, and fitted in so well! She's bubbly and confident and

some incredible rebounds off the tallest of opponents! I think I speak for the whole team
when I say that it's been awesome having her on our team this season :-)
Grace Terry
It’s been an awesome season playing with Grace. Always smiling, laughing and always,
always, enjoying her netball. She is an absolute “Pocket Rocket” around the court, always
there when you need her. Grace’s skilful ability to rapidly pass into the circle along with her
accuracy allows her game to be effective when feeding the GA and GS combination, no matter
who they are. With killer leads to the circle edge and her outstanding ability to link play from
the defensive third to the goal third, Grace is an absolute stand out. As an integral part of the

Coach/Manager – Craig Pennifold
Ass’t Manager – Kerry Tronerud
Rachel ‘Rach’ Kelly
(To the tune of L-O-V-E, Love, By Nat King Cole)
R is for the way Rach runs, to me
A, is for attacking well enough to get free
C, is very, very creative with our centre passes
H, is for hoping she is well enough to play this week; and
Rach, does all that she can on court for you
Rach is more than a substitute
Two Rach’s in our team can make it,
A bit tricky but we seem to work it
Rach, was made for pink and blue!!
Rachel has been able to play more games than last season, even whilst contracting an
inflammatory condition that is known as 'the old man's friend' and is the developing
countries leading cause of death. She maintained stamina long enough to qualify for finals
and be an active member of the team this year. Even when her alveoli in her lungs were
severely inflamed, making it hard to function, she was on the sideline giving us the
technical support we needed that helped prevent her from being our last resort and taking
the court in the lead up to finals. Thanks for being hilarious Rach, you are great quality and
continue to keep our seasons fun and entertaining
Ashlee ‘Ash‘ Tronerud
Ash has been such a tough defender for us all season. We could always rely on her to stick
close, stand tall, and pull in many a ball for us. Her voice and control in the circle meant
that she could work with anyone to shut down the opposition shooters and provide a
calmness and stability that led towards a win. Ash’s effort towards her netball was never
wavering and we thank her for such a great season.
Bianca ‘B’ Sands
The most passionate netballer you’ll ever see
That’s how we describe our B.
Intercepts, rejections and falcons all day,
She is the one defender you don’t want to play.
She breaks fingers, buys bow ties and supports all her mates.
Bianca we love you, we think you are great(s)
But there is one thing we’re not sure you will learn,
Don’t head butt the floor when you do the worm.
Emma ‘Em Pen’ Pennifold
Emma Penni could be compared to a Venus flytrap. She is gorgeous - long and lean,
friendly and alluring. Her appearance has her opponents thinking “I’ve got this”. But once
the whistle blows they realise it was all a trick, Emma has them trapped! They’re stuck,
there is no space. She intercepts the centre passes, she intercepts the high balls. If they miss
a shot there is no hope, rebounds are her speciality! No one is free from her trap! The Venus
flytrap is a great asset to any netball team (unless they roll their ankle in the grand final).
You’ve had an awesome season. All your hard work has paid off; you have improved in
leaps and bounds. Thanks for a great season Emma!
Amanda ‘Amanda’ Mulherin
(to the tune of L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole)
A is for the way she looks at the post
M is for the way she moooves the most
A is very, very, extraordinary
N is even more than anyone can move on the court
and D is for the dangerous moves she makes
A is for the accuracy she takes
Rachel ‘Gubs’ Gubler
She’s young, she’s cute! She’s the baby on the court
She’s speedy, and fast! She’s hungry for the pass!
She dodges, she leads! She is there when we need!
She runs and she feeds! She jumps as high as the trees!
Who is she? Just guess! She is there to impress!
She’s happy! She smiles! And the gurls got some style!
She’s Kind! But Mean! When she is playing the other team
She’s fierce! Determined! She is one hard working human!
She’s friendly and kind! A delight springs to mind!
Don't hate her coz she’s on the wing, coz she play everywhere!
She’s awesome! She is awesome! GUBLER!

Essential member of our team!
Our Mascots
Madelane ‘Mads’ White
To the tune of ‘Milkshake’
Her netball brings all the boys to the courts
And she’s like, our team’s better than yours
Damn right, our team’s better than yours
She could coach you
But she’d have to charge
Her passes bring all the balls to the ring
And she’s like, throwing every-thing
Damn right, catching every-thing
She could coach you
But she’d have to charge
The intercept she wants it,
The ball she takes it,
The crowd goes crazy for her
They lost their minds,
The way she finds,
The perfect pass
La la-la la-la
Calls out names of opponents
La la-la la- la
High pitched yelps, she’s on it
Her defence brings all the balls to our team
And she’s like, intercepting all yours
Damn right, intercepting all yours
She could coach you
but she’d have to charge
