Arman is the 2011 Recipient of the National Canadian Bar Association Young Lawyers Pro Bono Award. He is on the Executive of the Alberta CBA Administrative Law Section as well as the National Constitutional and Human Rights Law Section. Arman is an active member of the Legal Community (pro-bono, public speaking, and mentoring young lawyers), the Arts Community, and his ethnic community. Arman’s background in Administrative Law and his work with the Public Sector in the area of human rights would provide an additional level of experience to assist the Law Society of Alberta in its mandate to the public and the profession. Sandra German, RDR, RMR, RPR, CRR, CBC, CCP, CPE, CRI, CSR (A) Since 1979, Sandra’s been an official and freelance court reporter, firm owner/manager, software trainer, Court Reporting instructor, and is presently a CART provider (on-site and remote) and television broadcast captioner. She’s a member of CHHA Edmonton and has held various board positions with ASRA (Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association). Sandra also serves on the National Court Reporters Association’s (NCRA) CART Community of Interest and Captioning Community of Interest. Sandra’s passion for her profession and working with the hard of hearing shows in her entertaining and upbeat presentations. Tim Archer Tim Archer started Advanced Listening Systems to provide greater accessibility for the hard of hearing. This last year alone, ALS installed over 100 different systems ranging from financial institution wickets, over the counter service desks, recreation centers, seniors residence and theaters. In addition to assistive listening systems, Tim has extensive experience in the audio field including sound design for special venues, theme parks and IMAX films. He lives with his family in Victoria, British Columbia. Amanda McLeod - Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner After a 13-year career in office administration at the University of Alberta, followed by time spent at home with her children, Amanda embarked on a career path in hearing health. Watching family members lose their hearing and the struggles they faced because of that loss gave her a desire to educate herself and others about hearing loss. Helping people work through the challenges of hearing loss has become her passion and she is pleased to pursue this passion at Living Sounds Hearing Centre. Amanda is a graduate of Grant MacEwan University, receiving her Hearing Aid Practitioner Diploma with Distinction in 2012 and became Board Certified with the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) in January 2013. Jeff Simmons - General Manager Jeff Simmons has worked for Cineplex for 26 years managing many locations, all in Edmonton. His first theatre was a Single Screen theatre called the Meadowlark. Jeff opened the South Edmonton Common Cinema in 2000.
