From the south: Take I-87, “the Northway”, to Exit 25. Take left onto Rt. 8 west. Travel 3.5 miles on Rt. 8 west
and make a left onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, then make your next right (the continuation
of Friends Lake Road) and continue 8/10ths of a mile to Friends Lake Inn on the right.

Mountain for downhill skiing. Lots of antique and craft shops are in the area.
We are convenient to Saratoga and Lake Placid for day-trips.
For more than a century, the Adirondack Mountains of New York
State have been a place for rejuvenation and exploration. Friends
Lake Inn recalls many of the traditions of fine Adirondack dining
and lodging from a century ago.
We have refurbished this 17-room inn to provide comfortable, inviting
Guest Rooms for our guests. All rooms have mountain and lake views, some
have Jacuzzis, soaking tubs, or fireplaces. All have private baths. The Guest
Common Room has a fireplace. The Wine Bar is also a comfortable gathering
place. Both offer a relaxing atmosphere after a day of outdoor activity.
Our regionally acclaimed dining room will make your stay at Friends Lake
Inn a memorable one. Our imaginative New-American cuisine is exquisitely
prepared, complemented by wine from our outstanding collection, and
graciously served amidst the ambiance of our 19th century lakeview dining
room. The Dining Room and Wine Bar are also open to the public.
Take a pleasant walk in the surrounding woods or hike one of the many
area mountains. Cross-country ski or snowshoe on our 20 km of groomed
trails. You can enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks on our private beach
where you can swim, canoe, or fish its cool, clear water or pool side. Spend a
lazy afternoon at one of the local antique shops or visit the studio of one of
our many local artisans. Downhill skiing, whitewater rafting, golfing, and
horseback riding are just a short scenic drive away.

As the sun dips low outside, the dining room, with its tin ceiling and burnished
woodwork, becomes the focus of our attention. The meal, always of the finest
ingredients, is imaginatively composed and graciously served. A country breakfast
is offered daily in the sunny “Lake Side” Dining Room. Lighter fare is available in
our Wine Bar. Picnic Lunches are prepared “to go”, to enjoy wherever you are. We

Grand Award every year since 1997, one of fewer than 100 distinguished restaurants
