NEW THERMOS TATIC EXP ANS IO N
VALVE W/O U T MOP
Starting from the MV/H 12 serial number 00565, the previous TXV with MOP has been
replaced with a new one w/out MOP as done on the past months on the other MV series
units.
The new TXV, perfectly exchangeable with the former one, is available under Part Number
CM 81453621 and consist off:
TXV
Nozzle
Danfoss TS2 68Z3520
Ø 2 mm
The new TXV grants a more even formation of the ice plate on the evaporator even after
several cycles of operation.
As per the other Danfoss TXV used on MV series, it is very important to rotate, at time of
installation, its setting screw by 1/2 turn counterclockwise so to reduce its superheat and
allow more refrigerant to the evaporator.

NEW P LAS TIC FRON T P AN EL
Starting from the TC 180 serial number 01632, the previous plastic front panel P/N 660673
00 has been replaced with a new type available under Part Number 660673 02, as shown on
the bottom picture.
On the middle of the new plastic front panel, is located a wide opening where is placed the
new Dispensing Board Panel molded by plastic injection so to have a much better matching
between the Dispensing Board LEDs/Push Buttons and holes of the Dispensing Board Panel.
The Part Numbers of the new Dispensing Board Panels are:
Front side
Rear side
P/N

660700 00
To match the new Dispensing Board Plastic Panel assy, the Dispensing Board has been a
little bit modified on its size and shape as well as the front dispensing label P/N 660753 05.
As shape and size of new Dispensing Board is different of former one, it is NOT possible to
re-use the old one with the new Dispensing Board Plastic Panels.
To solve the problems in the filed, as the old Plastic Front Panel is no longer available, we
have released a new TC 180 Front Panel Kit under Part Number 060583 00 consisting off:

EC 45-55-85
EC 105-125-175
NEW SER IES OF ICE CUBERS
Starting from May ’02, a new series of Ice Cubers is available in the field for the moment,
only on air cooled version.
The major feature of the new EC (Easy Fit) SERIES is to use a special Water Pump Out
System, so to allow to discharge the waste/drain water even at an higher level compared
with the ice machine drain port, or to a very long distance (more then 30 meters).
Attached you can find a file in pdf format where are detailed the operation of the Pump
Water Drain System (PWD) together with the schematic diagram and a short list of the
most important spare parts typical of the PWD system.
As stated on the Service Bulletin SP-02.08, also the EC SERIES operate with the new type
PC Board P/N 620462 00 equipped with three sensors (evaporator, condenser and optical
ice level control).
We are working to prepare a specific Service Manual and Spare Parts Catalogue within the
next month of June.
PWD SYSTEM
COMPONENTS
The components of the Pump Out Water Drain
System are:
•
•
•
•
The Interface PC Board activates the Water
Drain Pump for 8 seconds pumping out most
of the water contained into the Sealed Water
Reservoir
Sealed water tank
Special Interface PC Board & Sensor
Special Sealed Water Pump
Check Valve
OPERATION
All water coming from the overflow, the purge
valve and the melted ice is collected inside the
Sealed Water Reservoir.
The water can be pumped out up to 1.5 m rise
or
HAND DISCONNECT
SWITCH
As soon as the water into the Sealed Water
Reservoir reaches the maximum level, the two
metal pins close the electrical contact through
the water, transmitting a low voltage current

SERVICE ANALISYS
The Special Interface PC Board is equipped
with a “trimmer” that can be adjusted
accordingly to the different electrical
conductivity of the water.
A “BUZZER” on the Interface PC Board is
energized too so to ALERT the Customer about
a problem with the Water Pump Out System
and avoid any possible overflow of water from
the machine
-

-
+
Whenever the water keeps “closed” the
electrical contacts between the two metal pins
of the Water Sensor for more then 5 minutes
continuously, the Interface PC Board switches
OFF the entire machine at “Storage Bin Full”
by means of a special electrical connection to
the Optical Sensor socket energizing in the
meantime the BIN FULL YELLOW LED of the
Main PC Board.

the old version PC Board P/N 620403 03 has been replaced with a new one available under
the new P/N 620462 02 and perfectly exchangeable with the former one.
The new PC Board operates in conjunction with the same sensors used up to now on
Flakers machines.
As per the most recent version of the Cuber PC Board, also the Flaker one is supplied with
its own plastic box.
Attached we are sending you a short presentation of the meanings of the different LEDs as
well as a schematic drawing of the two PC Boards (Syen and Pro.El.Ind.) available under
P/N 620462 02.
The major feature of this new PC Board is to restart automatically the machine after
every trip OFF; in case the machine stops, under the same alarm conditions, for three
times in three hours , at the fourth one the machine stops definitively with the glowing or
blinking of the ALARM LED.
The new PC Board is no longer equipped with Push Button and DIP Switch as it does NOT
need any adjustment except the setting of the CUT OUT temperature, jump out 60°C,
jump in 70°C.
To restart the machine after the tripping OFF in ALARM the only way is to unplug and
plug in again.
To by-pass the first 3' stand by it is necessary to jump the two contacts (J2 or J3 according
to the supplier) of the PC Board and unplug and plug in the machine.
As soon as we'll run out of stock of the previous PC Board we'll supply the new one.

NEW WORM TUBE-FREEZER ASS Y
With the release of the new plastic spout on AF series and MF 22-30, the previous brass
spout with its own S.S. securing bracket have been totally eliminated from the worm
tube/freezer assembly.
Now, also as spare part, we are no longer supply the freezer assembly with the S.S.
bracket/brass spout as done till few months ago as these parts can be easily take out from
the former worm tube/freezer assembly and installed on the new ones.
At the time of the installation of the S.S. bracket onto the new worm tube/freezer assy, it is
VERY IMPORTANT to check for the right installation as shown on the attached page.
The installation on reverse of the S.S. bracket reduces a lot the side spout opening, where
the ice is forced to move out, with the possible breakage of the upper right side of the
worm tube spout opening as shown on the bottom photo.

OPTICAL ICE LEVEL
CONTROL
We are receiving back Optical Ice Level Controls from the field that, once installed on
some sample machines in our testing rooms, they are working fine or, in same cases, they
require just a small adjustment of the I/R Trimmer located in front of the PC Board.
We would like to remind you that all our Cuber and Flaker PC Boards are equipped with a
I/R Trimmer used to compensate the possible difference of the signal back (current)
transmitted to the PC Board by the Optical Ice Level Control due to their different
manufacturing tolerance.
The I/R Trimmer is located in the center of the PC Board near the small RED LED
showing its correct operation as shown on the here below photo.
As this Trimmer is installed on the front or on the back side of the PC Board, it is not
possible to detail you exactly in which direction must be turn in order to increase or
decrease its sensitivity.
In case of Tripping OFF of the machine at Storage Bin Full with NO ICE inside the storage
bin, the check out procedure is:
•
•
•
•
Check first for any scale deposit onto the two "eyes". Clean them in any case using a
clean cloth with a descaling solution (if not available lemon or vinegar are two valid
alternatives)
Check for proper alignment of the "transmitter" and "receiver" at two opposite sides
On Flaker machine be sure that holes in the spout/ice chute are NOT closed
Be sure that machine is in a place not under direct sun light
After the above checks, in case the Small I/R RED LED is always OFF, try to adjust the
power by means of the I/R Trimmer rotating it clockwise or counterclockwise till I/R RED
LED is ON again.
After that IT IS IMPERATIVE to check for the correct operation of the Optical Ice Level
Control placing some ice cubes or flaker ice between the two opposite "eyes" just to be
sure that the new setting of the I/R is not too "strong" (in case of too much power the
Infrared Beam can pass trough the ice).
DO NOT USE THE HANDS for breaking the Infrared Beam as ice is a semitransparent
material while hands NOT.
Whenever the machine do NOT stop at Bin Full LED, with ice between the two opposite
"eyes", the signal power MUST be reduced turning back partially the I/R Trimmer and
re-check later as above.
