Volunteer English Teacher Needed iMOM’s
iMOM’s is a new school to help adults get their Grade12. It stands for
in memory of our mother’s who were our first teachers.
We are looking for a volunteer English teacher to give 2 x 45 minute
classes every Wednesday from 7 - 8.30pm.
Students rotate English with computer classes. The classes are held at the Patterson
Community Centre in Norwood, Johannesburg. Student’s English ability varies in
standards but their enthusiasm is universal.
Most of the students work at an apartment block in Norwood and are employed as
maids, gardeners or maintenance staff. Students pay R55 per month and supply their
own stationery. There is a student committee. New students welcome.

Giving compliments and accepting criticism
Listening, showing interest in others, asking relevant questions
Encouraging positive actions and performing nice gestures for
