SUNSATIONAL NEWS
Dear Evans Families,
We are beginning the last trimester of the school year which always seems
to be the busiest time of the year. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be
spending part of the upcoming school days taking the Florida Standards
Assessment (FSA). This test takes the place of the FCAT as part of the
statewide assessment program for the subjects of English/Language Arts
and Mathematics. FCAT Science is still around for our 5th graders. The

Our dedicated Lego Robotic Club members participated in our
inaugural year joining the Florida Lego League for competition
level Robotics. We attended a practice tournament, a qualifying
tournament, and just recently joined other local elementary schools
for a fun night at Partin Elementary. The students worked diligently
to meet all of the tournament qualifications and robot game missions
on a very challenging mat. We are so proud of their commitment and
willingness to put forth the extra effort
to prepare for these events.

and make-ups. The testing schedule, which is set by the Florida Department of Education, is very
[email protected] than in past years. Computer-based math testing for our 5th graders is not until next
week. This is the reason that our wonderful volunteers get an extended vacation from school.
Volunteers and lunch visitors are welcome back on Monday, May 5th.
There are many activities planned between now and the last day of the school year. The calendar
for the remainder of the year is in this newsletter. If you are not on our school email distribution
or text message list and would like to be, please email our Technology Facilitator at
