Introduction:
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport,
(ICAO: LPPR) or simply Porto Airport is an international airport near Porto, Portugal. It is located 11 km (6.8 mi)
northwest of the Clérigos Tower in the centre of Porto, in the municipalities of Maia, Matosinhos and Vila do Conde
and is run by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal. The airport is currently the second busiest in the country based on
aircraft operations and the second busiest in passengers, based on Aeroportos de Portugal traffic statistics, after
Lisbon Portela Airport and before Faro Airport. The airport is a base for Ryanair and TAP Portugal.
Lisbon Portela Airport,
also known as Lisbon Airport (ICAO: LPPT), is an international airport located in the city of Lisbon, the capital of
Portugal. In Portuguese, it is called Aeroporto de Lisboa, Aeroporto da Portela, or Aeroporto da Portela de
Sacavém. It takes its name from the neighbouring parish (freguesia) of Portela in Loures Municipality, formerly
known as Portela de Sacavém.
The airport is the main international gateway to Portugal and a major European hub. It is one of the largest and
best equipped airports in Western Europe for maintenance, navigation and air traffic control,[3] and passenger
service, having been nominated as Europe's Leading Airport for five consecutive years in the World Travel
Awards. In 2013, the airport handled 16,024,955 passengers and 88,459 tonnes of cargo.
The airport is the main hub of TAP Portugal and its subsidiary Portugália, a focus city for easyJet, Ryanair and
SATA International and also the base for charter airlines euroAtlantic Airways, Hi Fly and White Airways. The
airport is run by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal which has been concessioned to the French group Vinci Airports in
February 2013.
Faro Airport
(Portuguese: Aeroporto Internacional de Faro) (ICAO: LPFR) (also known as Algarve Airport) is located 4 km
(2.5 mi) to the west of Faro, Portugal.
The airport gets very busy during the summer months, namely from March to October, to the extent that the
airport becomes a slot coordinated airport.[There are 22 stands of which 16 are remote, with 60 check-in desks
and 36 boarding gates
A total of 5.6 million passengers used Faro airport in 2011. The airport became a hub for the first time in March
2010, when Ryanair decided to base seven of its aircraft there.




All IVAO and PT Division rules are valid for the event.
Pilots without a booked flight will get lower priority for clearance.
You should comply with any Air Traffic Control station that may be online during
the event.
IVAO Awards
The following awards will be issued at the event under the following conditions:
Each pilot will receive 1 point for the Pilot Event Award if successfully
book a flight/slot for this event.
Each controller will receive 1 point after a complete session period on
the position of his choice for the ATC Event Award.

Air Traffic Controllers Briefing

Before a controller begins his sessions he must prepare his station, by writing a dated and correct ATIS,
opening a channel on TeamSpeak 2, checking the nearby traffic and confirming the most recente
charts. After all these tasks are complete the controller may write "Online" on the ATC CommBox so all
the other ATC's will know he is ready to get the traffics.

When replacing the ATC on a station, the pilots must be notified, and the replacement may take no
longer than 5 minutes. The leaving ATC will shortly brief the incoming ATC.

The incoming ATC needs to connect 15 minutes prior to the replacement as an observer and notify
the leaving ATC on the replacement.

All members who wish to perform ATC duties should show their availability using the tool published
in the ATC section of the Portuguese forum and will be aproved by the PT AOC.

ATC may connect only to the stations he is trained and authorised on.

"TIME" for Departing flights is the "Off Blocks" time! (time to start pushback)

"TIME" for Arriving flights is the "Landing time" time! (time to be on ground)
Please notice that all times are Zulu times (e.g. 1200Z) and you should plan according to that.
Also, you kindly ask you to plan your flight according to the Departure Time, if departing
from Portugal, and according to Arrival Time, if arriving at Portugal, in order to help us to
keep everything on the right track.


Departing flights
It is essential that you connect 20 minutes before your ETD at your assigned gate. If your gate is taken
please send a private message to the tower controller so he can assign you a new one.
PLEASE DO NOT SWITCH STATIONS WITHOUT BEING INSTRUCTED TO DO SO!!!
Connecting to Ground station
On initial contact please state the following details:



Your callsign
Your gate
ATIS information
Example:
Pilot: Lisboa Ground Hello, Airportugal 734 at gate A125 with information N, request
clearance to Madeira as filed.
Once you get your clearance and readback, please stay on the Ground station, ask for pushback when
ready and then for taxi clearance. Upon reaching the holding point you will be handover to the Tower
controller. It is very important to see the airport diagram in order to follow the assigned taxi route.
If a ground position is not open, you should contact tower.
Contacting Tower
On initial contact with the tower state only your callsign and position.
Example:
Pilot: Lisboa Tower Hello, A i r p o r t u g a l 734 at holding point M5 rwy03.
The Tower controller you be responsible for issuing take-off/ landing clearances, and if the ground
position is not open, he will also be responsible for his functions.
After departure you should contact the Approach position, even if you are not handed over by the
Tower controller.

Contacting Lisboa Control
During the event we will provide Center control, LPPC_CTR, on the frequency 125.550 MHz
When you contact to Lisboa Control, you need to provide the following information:
Callsing, position, cleared level and waypoint (if applicable) and destination airport
Attention : Never interfere in the middle of instructions given by the controllers. All pilots must be
careful to let the pilot do the read back to the controller, and then we communicate what we want.
