SIR BOB GELDOF IN CONCERT
THE BLOCKHEADS
STAND UP & ROCK FEATURING
SUPPORT ACT - SID & JOE
SUPPORT ACT - THE LOWRIDERS
JASPER CARROTT WITH BEV BEVAN AND GUESTS
Sir Bob Geldof is probably best known for the formation of The Boomtown Rats in 1975,
and for the single ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ named after the answer given by a schoolgirl in
San Diego when asked why she’d killed her classmates.
News reports on the Ethiopian famine in 1984, Geldof and Ultravox frontman Midge Ure
co-wrote the charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ Performed under the name Band
Aid, it featured some of the biggest stars of the time, and became the bestselling single in
UK history – raising millions for charity.
Following this, Geldof became heavily involved in plans for Live Aid, a charity concert to
raise money for the African poor. Two marathon shows were held simultaneously in July
1985, one at Wembley Stadium in London and one at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. The
event raised millions for charity, and is still widely applauded as one of the greatest live
shows ever.
His charity work has been recognised throughout the world, and as a result, he has been
nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize and received a knighthood.
Starting out as the band behind Ian Dury, the Blockheads are a legendary outfit that has
grown in stature from the early days of the Stiff tour in 1977, right up to the present day.
Rarely off the road since the demise of Ian Dury in 2000, but now with Derek Hussey fronting
the band, the Blockheads are still one of the most underrated British bands of all time, with
a legion of fans of all ages.
Derek Hussey’s lyrics in the band’s new songs keep the combination of poetry, word play,
earthy humour and deadly-accurate observations of everyday, British working-class life, that
Ian Dury had perfected, but with an added bite for the 21st century.
Along with some new material you can expect to hear “Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick”,
“Wake Up And Make Love With Me”, “Reasons To Be Cheerful (Part 3)”, “What A Waste”,
“Clevor Trever”, “Sweet Gene Vincent” and many more from the illustrious back catalogue.
The Blockheads are fronted by Derek ‘The Draw’ Hussey, and Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy,
John Turnbull and Mick Gallagher still remain from the original band.

Jasper Carrott’s Stand Up And Rock does what it
says on the tin....Jasper is back to his very best....mic
in hand regaling the audience with his inimitable
stand up routines before introducing his musical
compatriots that have been ‘rockin’ audiences all
over the world. Bev Bevan, as well as being Jasper’s
mate has rock star credentials that most dream
of from the Move through ELO and has one of the
finest bands around. Rockin’ Berries lead singer
Geoff Turton, celtic rock band Quills lead singer ‘Joy’ and the Bev Bevan band comprising
some of the country’s finest musicians.
So do not miss this unique show that gives the opportunity to see and hear great
legendary artistes belt out a night of fantastic songs and Jasper back where he
belongs......making us laugh!!

This haunting tragedy with its beautiful areas will transport you to the
world in which it is set.
La Traviata is an Opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, set to an Italian
libretto by Francesco Maria Piave - a love story shrouded in sacrifice and
misunderstanding. Masterpiece in its own right, it contains some of Verdi’s
most beautiful and memorable music.
The title La Traviata means literally The Fallen Woman, or perhaps
more figuratively, The Woman Who Strayed. It is based on La Dame aux
Camélias, a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils. It
recounts Dumas’ true-life affair with the beautiful demi-mondaine, Marie
Duplessis.
A courtesan called Violetta is stuck in a round of endless parties until
Alfredo, a geeky writer, convinces her to live in the country. Deeply in love,
all is blissful contentment until some home truths convince her to leave
Alfredo and head back into the arms of another…
Shadowing Violetta is the disease that so often afflicts morally
questionable 19th-century women: consumption.
Verdi’s music encompasses an astonishing range of moods and emotions,
from Alfredo’s fresh-faced charms to Violetta’s vivid effervescence, which is
perfectly captured in ‘Sempre libera’, a vocal showpiece to rival any other.
A tragic and resonant tale of society and morality, La Traviata combines
compelling characters with hugely powerful, moving and instantly
recognisable melodies, making it still, 160 years after its 1853 debut, one
of the most emotionally engaging and popular Operas of all time.
To see this opera is to have an experience of unforgettable emotive power
and reflection.
2004 X factor finalists and multi-platinum
selling vocal quartet G4 are excited to
announce that, due to unprecedented
demand, they have confirmed a schedule
for a multi-date UK tour to celebrate their
10th Anniversary. The Reunion Tour will
take two halves, the first in April, the second
in the autumn.
G4 set an exciting trend by bringing
classical music to British reality TV screens
for the first time in 2004 with their
performance of Nessun Dorma. However,
it was their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody
that became their signature tune, storming
the charts in 2005. Their eponymous debut
album went straight to No.1, selling more
than 245,000 in the first week, making it

the fastest-selling album of the year . In
2007, after three albums, over two million

With slick choreography and the recognisable falsetto, this really sets the scene for a great
night. Acoustic versions of songs are a highlight in this part of the show which demonstrate
the diversity and harmonic sounds as once done by the great band themselves.
By the end of the first half you will definatly be “hanging on” to your seats and”beggin” for
more. The second half of the show is truly party time, where all the famous hits come out
such as, Can’t take my eyes off you, let’s hang on, Ragdoll, Grease, Working my way back to
you and many more.
This is a show you definitely don’t want to miss.
The show that stormed into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent & now a West End smash is
back to mark its 21st Anniversary in spectacular style.
The last few years has seen the profile of The Circus of Horrors jump tremendously after
rampaging into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent & to this date it is still the only circus ever
to reach the finals.
The latest incarnation ‘Welcome to the Carnevil’ is set in Victorian London in 1899, Jack
the Ripper was still at large and this was the age of the Freakshow. A young girl dreamt of
running away to join the Circus only to see her dream become a nightmare in a decrepit
and corpse ridden Carnevil, plagued by a swamp of Killer Klowns, Sword Swallowers, Demon
Drawfs, Death Deifying Aerialists, a Guiness World Record holding Hairculian Diva swinging
solely from her hair, back flipping & fire limboing acrobats & lots lots more. A show ruled by
the undead & climaxing in an awesome flaming apocalypse.
Some of the greatest and most bizarre circus acts on earth, performed by an almighty cast
with a forked tongue firmly in each cheek. www.circusofhorrors.co.uk
