The Standard p RANGE GS Pneumatic Air Starting Unit for Aircraft up to 400 ppm GUINAULT-LEBRUN The Standard GUINAULT-LEBRUN, have been specialists in 400Hz electrical aircraft generators since 1949, and developed its first pneumatic start-up compressor in 1968, based on an internally developed pneumatic regulator. Ever since, GUINAULT-LEBRUN has established itself as the market leader thanks to components selected for their durability and reliability, combined with a great experience in aircraft start-up. In 2000, GUINAULT-LEBRUN developed a unique concept: of electronic and automatic control of the air flow by regulating speed between 1300 and 2000 rpm, producing reliability, fuel economy, and lower sound emission. Today, the GUINAULT-LEBRUN ASU (Air Start Unit) range covers all jet powered Regional and Commercial aircraft up to an air flow of 400 Lbs/min. It must be able, at any time and for any type of aircraft, to provide the necessary compressed air (42PSI of pressure) to run the turbines and perform the start-up. It is for this reason that GUINAULT-LEBRUN designed the safest ASU in the world using components known for their reliability, such as Deutz and MTU engines, coupled with GHH Rand screw compressors. The use of electronic regulation allows them to operate in the best conditions and thus improve their lifespan, to limit noise at airports, and significantly reduce fuel consumption. Purpose of our GS units Controlled risks Drastically reduce the risk of AOG Reduce costs by covering a wide range of aircraft with just one model Fuel savings compared with traditional technologies Provide very low maintenance costs (diesel engine) Extend the lifespan of the product by an optimized operation (variable speed) Reduce the level of noise on the tarmac (by reducing engine speed) Extend the lifespan by the use of proprietary regulation technology (elimination of the risk of obsolescence of spare Advantages of GUINAULT-LEBRUN start-up units Sturdiness and reliability Optimized design Ease of use Electronic control Ease of Maintenance No risk of obsolescence of the control system Proven Solutions p o w e r Sturdiness and Reliability All components are of industrial design and selected for their endurance and strength. DEUTZ engines and GHH Rand compressors are made in Germany and specially calibrated for this function. The electronics cards are designed and produced by GUINAULT-LEBRUN with the purpose of limiting the risk of obsolescence and to control technology. The cards are designed in order to withstand the most extreme conditions of temperature and humidity. The frame is hot-dip galvanized, while the fuel tanks are plastic in and corrosion free. The electronic control system contains no conventional mechanical air regulators, which are more likely to fail. Optimized Design Particular attention is paid to evacuating the heat generated by the machine, in particular, its diesel engine and its compressor. The hot and cold air flows are partitioned, ensuring good performance in extreme conditions with , repeat start-ups in a very hot environment. The engine air intake is very large and high-frequency noise from the compressor is absorbed at the source (intake), and before leaving the lines of the machine, thus avoiding the use of soundproofing materials (foam), reducing air passages, and clogging the heat exchangers. Ease of use The on-ground operation of the machine by the operator is extremely easy. Fully automatic operation allows the user to focus on the security of the surroundings. The machine operates at all times at its maximum efficiency without adjustment. Waiting periods that are at times prolonged are run at minimum engine speed. Electronic control GUINAULT-LEBRUN has applied its expertise in electronics to create a card that can adjust the flow according to the needs of the aircraft, and the pressure depending on the mode selected: Air Pack or Air Start. The electronic control allows, if necessary, to adapt the machine to an unfamiliar start-up mode, different as may be found on new aircraft, as the operation is not fixed by inflexible mechanical concepts. Ease of maintenance Maintenance operations are limited to regular visual inspections and replacements of the engine and compressor filters. Access to major components is easy with wide doors on each side of the GS. Each component can be removed and replaced without difficulty. The absence of a turbine-type high speed engine and mechanical regulator significantly reduces the cost of maintenance. Other services Factory inspection and commissioning inspection. Training on-site or in factory with educational support.
