We hope you are making plans to join us on November 7, 2015 for the most stunning
and exciting black-tie fundraising gala in Laurinburg, NC.
Since 1994, Scotland Memorial Foundation has annually played host to its premiere
fundraising event, Putting on the Ritz - A Gala of Giving. From the moment of arrival on
the Hospital campus, Ritz guests enjoy five-star service, including valet parking, coatcheck services, and assistance by our maitre-de in directing guests to their reserved
seating in our extraordinarily elegant 14,800 square foot ballroom. Once in the
ballroom, guests partake of exquisite entrees and decadent desserts prepared by Master
Chefs. As if that were not enough indulgence for one evening, guests may dance the
night away beginning with musical selections from DJ Lloyd Hinson followed by a live
performance by the band Mr. Potato Head.
To add to the excitement of the evening, lively competition takes center stage as guests
bid on unique items and fabulous packages in the Ritz silent and live auctions, directed
by auctioneer, Benjamin Farrell. Professional electronic bidding system will allow guests
to bid right from their seats. Guest will receive alerts instantly if they have been outbid
and can continue bidding until the final second before bidding is closed.
The true highlight of the evening is the opportunity to honor the individuals and
businesses who support the Foundation’s Putting on the Ritz. Through their generous
financial contributions, Scotland Memorial Foundation is able to use the net proceeds
from the Ritz to fund numerous community-based health programs and services each
year.
We expect our November 7th Ritz to be a sold-out event and a remarkable evening of
glamour and generous giving!

All net proceeds from the Ritz are used to carry out the Foundation’s mission to provide resources
that support: the finest in healthcare services within the Scotland Health Care System, innovative
and high quality community health projects, and health education. Some of the programs and
services funded by the Ritz include:

Free Mammogram screenings for women with financial concerns
Free health screenings such as A1C, blood pressure, cholesterol, and body fat
Wigs and personal care items for cancer patients in need
Prescription medications, medical supplies and equipment for those less fortunate
Free athletic physicals to middle and high school students
Wound Healing Center Patient Assistance Fund
Henley’s Heart Fund for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Patients
Charles L. “Chuck” Hicks, Jr. Memorial for Cardiovascular Patients
Women’s and Men’s Health Events
Diabetes Education Fair & Chronic Pain Education Seminar
Assistance for the enhancement of Community Support Groups
Five $2,000 scholarships awarded annually to high school seniors pursuing a career in the
health care industry
